Even as a Liverpool fan I love the post match interviews here. A time when players could be themselves in front of the cameras and not follow modern day robotic protocol.

As an Evertonian I laughed on the day. The Liverpool fans thought Liverpool only had to turn up. Talk of 4 and 5 nil. Looking back now and football was the biggest loser that day. Just a bunch of thugs that beat one of the best footballing sides I have ever seen. Jones should have been sent off inside 20 minutes. Rubbish referee. Gould and Howes tactics that day was solely to stop Liverpool by any means.

You're either joking or you don't realise that the old First Division was the same thing as the Premier League. Just a fancy new name that's all. Liverpool at this time were probably the best club side in Europe and Wimbledon were a solid team punching well above their weight. It's without doubt one of the biggest upsets of all time.

Who would of thought, a london team with londoners.
Back when english main league had mainly english players, and the players were alot of time local to the clubs they played for.
Even though people hate wimbledon for what they were like, fairplay to them winning that day.
Just funny looking at this seeing londoners playing for a london team, where as today virtually no london natives are playing for main london teams.

Arsenal gave Liverpool a right hook in the league cup final in 1987, Wimbledon gave them a left hook in the 1988 cup final, arsenal knocked them out at anfield in 1989 and Crystal Palace carried them out of the ring in the semi in 1990.

They're right. Looking at that again, it wasn't a penalty.
I remember that game very well, one of the great cup finals - not for the football, which was scrappy, but for the drama and spectacle. Normally neutrals like to cheer on the underdog, but Liverpool have always been a sympathetic club and lots of people - myself included - wanted them to win this and clinch the double. I love that Wimbledon won in the end, though I also felt sorry for Liverpool as they had a truly great team in the late 80s and deserved the double, which would have been fitting recognition.

If only UEFA didn't sell tickets in the "neutral" zone to thousands of Juventus fans and instead gave Liverpool the entire end, as Juventus had at the other end, and if only those Juventus fans in the 'neutral' end didn't start pelting the Liverpool fans and players with bottles and chunks of crumbling terrace. No charge would have happened.
7 previous European finals for Liverpool and not an iota of trouble from them.
You do know that Juventus fans had a ban too, right? Juventus had to play their next three games in the European Cup behind closed doors.
