You can get factory electric fans off a GMT-900 platform like the 06 and up trucks with all of the wiring and fuse block. It all bolts right in and gives you tons of room just have to flash the ecu to turn the fans on. You can also use the rotors and calipers from the 900 to the 800 and it gives you an extra inch of bite

I'm almost 40 and watching younger kids getting into car's is awesome. When I was in my 20's it was only few and far between who liked working on cars. My father owned a bunch of car's for drag racing mainly street racing. I didn't think much about car's even when I worked at my cousin's and uncles Auto repair shop but for some reason I'm catching that bug now. My brother and my best friend/neighbor always had the car bug. I would ride with the neighbor to school and his dad would have him working on cars before school but he loved it, went to school for diesel and then for planes.
I wanted a suck it Cole from Mr Bogetti spaghetti. Enjoying seeing everyone in one place just having fun. Glad to see you help JH too. I'm sure it helped a lot.
Also a note for electric fans find a silverado 05+ most of them have dual electric fans that you can take the harness and all and pinned in and run like stock for ease just needs to be turned on in the ecu

I did the same intercooler on the envoy and I just flipped it so the outlets were on the bottom. Ended up working better than I thought! I'm seriously stoked to see this thing get done and rip at the track
Won't that allow condensation to collect at the inlet and outlet? Serious question, I just always assumed that's why the outlets are above the centerline.
I can't imagine it produces enough to really be an issue, but if you pull the intake and the front half or so of the motor is cleaner, you'll know why 🤣...... you may have actually stumbled onto something here lol

A little tech tip I've learned on those LS exhaust manifold bolts don't use a hand ratchet with a socket use a 3/8 air ratchet with a standard socket and a straight socket and the twisting motion of the air ratchet will usually spin them out even if they're Rusty versus where if you use a ratchet or an end wrench it tries to bend the head of the bolt as you're trying to loosen it and it will usually snap the head of the bolt off I've learned the air ratchet you just hit the button and it usually spins it right out I know some people might not believe me but try it

That intercooler has always been on that purple 240sx. Kyle bought it as a non-runner from Emilio. Also, they've blown a few Sr20s through that intercooler, so a good clean out is probably needed.

I did both of these on my 03 suburban. PCM of NC has kits for the GMT800 electric fans and they do the fan tune. Highly recommend.

Pro tip... back the blower back off the turbine inlet 6-8 inches. Repeat test. Then quantify . Enjoy.

Makes sense. I like to use ratchet wrenches on header bolts for a similar reason

If you can find a set of fans off a newer 1500 Tahoe or Burban with electric fans they will bolt right up. I did that with my 2500 gasser
