    Hello! I’m a PTA and have been in the job field for 2yrs. Looking to get into travel PT. What recruiter did you guys use? There are countless recommendations on the web but hard telling good from bad

    This is funny! My boyfriend and I graduated from PT school December 2020, and Passed boards on Feb 8th 2021!!
    We are looking to travel. We have been in touch with three recruiters but have yet to find a job - so when you say it took you 3 weeks!! thats great! I feel we wont start until at least April at this rate.
    I dont feel our recruiters are being that on top of it...
    Our biggest dilemma is not having any state licenses except for our home state ones. How did you guys navigate that? Did you apply to jobs without license in hand? And were facilities willing to offer you the job without license, knowing you would start application asap?
    xoxo love your videos

      Congrats on your boyfriend and you passing boards! That's a huge accomplishment and a weight off your shoulders.
      Graduating in December and looking for travel jobs during December through March is tough because the market is down every year around this time. This is due to hospitals and facilities arrange the new year's budget to see if they can and/or need to take on travelers. Then when you throw COVID's suppression of the market on top of it all...it can be challenging to score that first contract! But stay patient and flexible! You all will find something!
      We were able to apply to jobs without a state license, but it's always better to have one in hand during a competitive market. Is your home state in the compact? And have you considered licensing in a few states that have a majority of jobs? Some of these strategies can help you land that first contract.
      Also, if you feel like your recruiters are giving you red flags and/or not helping you much, feel free to shoot us an email requesting recruiter recommendations. We'd love to get you connected with some of the recruiters we personally use and trust!
      Lastly, thanks for watching our videos! It means a lot to us!

      @@RyanMegan Thanks for quick response :)
      We are definitely trying to be flexible - and good new we just got licensed in Massachusetts since we hear there are a lot of jobs there - so that should open up more options for us.
      Unfortunately neither of our home states are in the compact. We plan of getting our Texas license as well soon!
      Ill be in touch should we need more recruiters :) thanks so much!

    is there a limit to how many recruiters you can be in contact with to find you a job?

    • @RyanMegan
      @RyanMegan  ปีที่แล้ว

      No limit, but you just want to make sure you don't have 2 different recruiters submitting you for the same job.
      We typically work with 2-3 recruiters at a time.
