I love how later on in the movie she realizes she had everything except her best friend and true love Matt and tries whatever she can to make up for lost time. Thats what makes this movie so great and the reason its one of my favorites. :-)
It’s a good movie but I wish they would have ended it differently...with her kissing him then it saying 17 years later and showing them getting married.
Not having a good guy like Matty changed her whole life for the worst. A lot of people do this. They're whole life is affected by materialism and fake friends. After she had a re-do and picked the 1 true friend and love, her whole life changed for the better.
One of the things I like about their dynamic and his character is that he’s not one of those bitter and resentful guys who are still mad years later that they got “ignored” by their childhood crush. Like he’s genuinely respectful and kind to Jenna despite not getting what he wanted all those years of his life and that makes him way more attractive. The bar is so low for men these days I know lmao but there are so many bitter dudes out there nowadays. Watched this movie for the first time a day ago and it warmed my heart 😭 It’s so sweet.
Very true. Like you can tell that he’s being cautious and around her and has boundaries because she did hurt him. But he was never rude. There’s a difference
@@chanelhamilton4840 Exactly, he had boundaries and he was open about what happened and why their friendship deteriorated when she asked him about it but he didn’t hang on to any insecurity or anger about the outcome. Truly a good guy.
Wtf you talking about? Does it that makes him way more attractive?? "One of those bitter and resentful guys".. Nice... Really nice and fair from you. Did you ever hear all that she has done to him in the past? You really think you can just go around doing whatever you want, and then come back 17 damn years later and play like nothing ever happened? Would you really blame Matt if he was “BiTTeR And ReSentFul” ? Even Jenna tell Matt she doesn’t deserve all that kindness from him and she IS right. It’s just plain ****** and unreal to just forget all the pain someone did to you in the past and everything that has happened since then. What if the roles were reversed? You surely would be laughing your *** off when the girl would reject the guy in the present time. If you are aggressive/toxic/unrespectful towards men, don’t ever expect they forgive you or act kind just because you think that’s what they have to do. “Truly a good guy” oh, so now YOU decide who is good, who is bad? I love this movie soo much. The adult Jenna faces reality but she can't move forward without her best friend matt. Most of the movie has Lucy as a bad influence on jenna.

Pay attention to the beginning of the movie when Matt says Arrivederci and Jenna says Au Revoir. And notice in this scene it's flipped. Error? Or do you think that's what the filmmakers wanted?
No, I don’t think it was an error. That’s their little phrase that they say when saying goodbye. Who ever says the “Arrivederci” part is the first one who starts it off, and the second person says the “Au Revoir” part. Jenna is still stuck in her thirteen year old mind, so she says it first in this scene.
