The suits they wore were so smart, when men looked like men, and the women looked beautiful These films are just the best. I’d rather watch one of these films than the latest blockbuster in the cinema.

He was a black guy, and he could play a highly excitable black guy without it being demeaning. Black actors today whine about being 'victims of racism' while they count the high salaries they make. Willie Best, Mantan Moreland, Ben Carter, Noble Johnson, Sam 'Deacon' McDaniel, they all did fine jobs. Others like Paul Robeson bitched about everything. He was hauled before the House Un-American Activities Committee (HUAC) for his Communist connections. **Note that he also received the Stalin Peace Prize in 1952.
These movies are great! Much better than the newer ones these days. They are all computerized. This is real acting. Milton Berle died in 2002. Great loss for the comedy movies like many other actors in this time period.

The Scores are much better. Costuming is better. We love and NEEDED these movies. And then we got better. Can you imagine if the Worlds food,medication,etc were the same???

How 70 years old grew up with Milton Boro I guess as an older gentleman, though very funny comedian it was really pleasant to be able to see him in his early career. Thank you whoever put these movies up. I don’t know how it works, but thank you.

Well folks! It is what it is and that's all it is. As a kid, I thought this was funny. It should be noted, Milton Berle and Willie Best in the same movie is interesting enough.
I like to watch old movies and wonder if my dad ever saw them. He turned 12 the year this movie was in theaters, and it's the kind of humor he liked, so I like to imagine him walking to the theater in town and seeing it, if he had the money.
It's fun, but "The Ghost Breakers" is much better, IMHO, thanks to Bob Hope and Paulette Goddard. But it was good to see Willie Best in this version, as well. He certainly spices up the movie...

Willie Best.....i have seen him in many of Charlie Chan Detec,Series and sooo many Old movies. He was great at playing.....a simpletom.....yet with such unforgetable manner hard to replicate.....i love finding him in many old films.....Sadly not much mention of his talent.....of course RACISM played a large part of the lack of interest-focus mention of his talent.....Thanks for the upload.

Love the old comedy thrillers like this that are smart and the dialogue has wisecracks. Stereotyping aside, this is a fun movie that sounds like it was a radio program or play originally.
*SPOILERS* So in the end, the hero (Milton Berle) didn't get the girl, and the diamonds weren't really diamonds and only worth $90 to $100 dollars. Now that's different for this kind of movie.
Oh ! We see a flashy display of "Modern Technology" @6:35 when the lady picks up the Portable Radio and carries it about while it plays ! I bet that radio didn't weigh any more than five pounds !
Fun film. It sure would not be allowed to be made today. I am thankful I got to live most my life during a time when people were allowed to laugh at themseles.
Well worth the watch. I'd give it two bags of popcorn! Some of the jokes were corny but still, you had to stay with the film to catch all the comic references. Thanks for providing it, especially commercial free. The pacing was too tight for greedy interruptions.
We go out of our way to find films with Willie Best in them. He was a gifted comedic actor.

I loved Willies Best's acting skills. The world was never fair in his time. He was the best!!

The first time I saw Carradine was with Peter Lorre in "Mr. Moto's Last Warning". (1939)
