@@Sc0pee Sadly, you completely missed the point. Read my comment again. Are you familiar with the transliteration used in the 80's and 90's? Do you know what language it was based on? Hint: These were also used in official documents, including passports worldwide. This practice ended roughly in the mid to late 90's, I can not remember exactly.
@@incumbentvinyl9291 no I didnt miss your point (completely at least). Im not familiar with the data systems that were in use, but I have some experience from programming (coding) in general.I have seen alot worse, even quite recently with some Finnish names but sadly I cant name the event...
@@Sc0pee You are living in the digital age. You need to time travel back to the time where transliterations were the norm. This is not about programming, no offense. It has absolutely nothing to do with the data systems. The names were shown on mechanical boards before digital boards, with exactly the same transliteration rules. How old are you, mate?
yeah, I remember now vaquely that I have heard about this before. It makes sense I guess but transliteration is also needed for technical reasons at times. Some computer systems can’t deal with the original orthography of names, because they have a different character set loaded in.

Joo ja Laitinen rupes intoomaan niin paljon että veti montun pohjalle ja jalat poikki. Ja siihe loppui Laitisen ura käytännössä.
