There's been a two week delay getting mine delivered due to a couple of recalls since been watching lots of TH-cam videos and have to say this is one of the best. Clear and sensible and not annoying like so many!
Thank you. A very clear and concise review, well filmed too. It is a unique bike, that really that really stands out from the rest. Which part of Italy are you in?
Manufacturers must learn from Moto Guzzi: Cardan, cardan means respect for the customer. How is it possible to use a motorcycle that needs maintenance, to the chain, every day of travel!
Guzzi don't have to break a sweat to build a masterpiece of a bike👍❤️💘 this is a bike! Hear how she rides, how she looks and feels! And better priced that Ducati multistrada , Harley Pan am, or BMW 1250.
That's a really clean, sharp, nonsense free review. Much appreciated and well done. I would like to hear your opinions on the reliability of Moto Guzzi in general as it maybe too early yo tell for this particular model. I'm in the market for a mid-range adventure bike. I'm moving away from the 1000cc+ heavy guzzlers. Please let me know guys!
Great review! Not an over enthousiastic " WOW, AMAZING" etc...just plain as you have experienced it and how it makes you feel. Not using it to race around to see what's the max capability. Just as I would like to know as I can find al the spec stuff online.
Really nicely produced and delivered, and enjoyable to watch too. It might have been worth mentioning some of the "negatives" for balance. I'm thinking about leaking oil seals on the drive shaft - there have been factory recalls for some - the way the lack of a functioning front mudguard leaves that lovely embossed eagle on the front of the engine caked in road spray and dirt if you get caught out on wet roads, and the way the exhaust cross piece, just inside the sump guard, seems to corrode way too fast if exposed to winter road salt. These aren't deal breakers, but are good for prospective viewers to recognise.
@@Rdgoosmicp I just bought the Travel version and I belive it is the only trim level that comes with heated grips. Has fog lights too, made by Givi I think.
Fantastic! I’ve done lots of paragliding in Bassano and always wished I had my motorcycle to ride some of those amazing roads. Glad you got the chance with a fun bike!
Thanks for the great review. Can you tell me how tall you are? I am 6'.2" (186cm) and the bike seems a bit small especially when standing off-road. I took one for a test ride but 30 minutes is not enough to experience long day riding conditions. I am also interested how is the engine heat in slow city speeds. Thanks.
What happened to your V7 review? It was so good. I watched it so many times on the MotoGeo channel that I ended up Purchasing a V7 III Milano. Does it still exist anywhere?
Not sure, Jamie must’ve taken it down. I still have the footage, maybe one day I will cut together another version. Glad you enjoyed it and are enjoying the bike!
Powerband on an 850 OHV twin? Not much below 4k rpm? This is what progress is called folks. Or ever lighter flywheels. 45 years ago, the 850 T3 pulled from 1500 rpm and pulled hard from 2000 rpm. Ditto even big carbed LM l's... Progress....
The paint schemes are absolutely rediculous. This is the first one I've seen that looks good. The bike is great other than that and I would consider buying it. Only dealer I found in entire state of Texas is in Houston and who wants to go there now🤔 the fact that they put cruise control is awesome. I also like that it has low maintenance shaft drive🏍️🏕️
Really nice bike . You have tested the Benelli TRK 502 X, which one do you prefer ? More or less the same category a bit more expensive for sure for de V85TT and a bit less powerfull for the TRK X. Who is the most reliable bike after testing it ? Thank you for you review. Ride safe
On the down side, they have a tall seat height at 830mm, so if you are slightly vertically challenged, then its expensive to lower the bike. On my Guzzi travel version I had to spend £230 on the lower seat (Just 20mm lower) then £500 for a shorter Bitubo mono shock giving another 35mm, plus slight adjustment on the fork yolks. The bike is now rideable for me. Its a real shame Moto Guzzi do not offer an adjustable height rear mono shock which would open up the market to riders that do not have 36 inch inside leg length! Other than that, I love the bike.
I have a 28" inside leg and find the standard set up a tad high, meaning I can get tiptoes on the ground. I found a lowered seat on a Guzzi FB group for £150, and a lowered shock Spring on eBay for £90,forks I will do myself and all is good. Nowhere near as tall as the R1200GS I had.... that was redicously tall for a 5'5" rider...
Got a 2009 Stelvio, that has tubeless spoked wheels, why not the V85TT! Love the Stelvio, loads of character, but top heavy which makes low speed manoeuvring a bit scary sometimes, it's probably been the most unreliable motorcycle I've every had, expensive head rebuild, Speedo failure and replacement, main stand failure and replacement plus other issues. Love the look of the V85TT, just hope they've sorted it properly!

Good review. Seems to be a very nice bike, but we should really start calling these off-pavement machines instead of "off-road" machines. There's no way I'd want to hustle this thing through a jeep trail let alone a single track. It's way too nice 😅

Guzzi have been trendsetters from the beginning, making unique and beautiful bikes.I must have this one!
Excellent review,thank you.👍👍
Absolutely! Thanks Brian
Aside from the appeal of uniqueness and Guzzi’s character, I suspect the deal-closer of the V85TT is the shaft drive.
Agreed.
and air-cooled engine, and easy maintenance, and premium quality, and practicality, and durability, and uniqueness, and design...and...and...and...
The best review of the Guzzi 85 TT I've seen, thanks for the video 👍

Thanks for sharing your opinion and review.
Thank you, they sure do!
Two things I wish it had, tubeless wheels and heated grips. But I still like it and expect to pick one up.
All adventure bikes should have heated grips these days! Enjoy, it’s a lot of fun!

The Moto Guzzi definitely feels more solid, it's a really well built bike, but it costs a bit more, so depends on your budget. Enjoy!

I thought hard about this, but tubed tyres on a mainly road bike? No thanks. I bet they introduce tubeless wire rims for 2020, though.

I love the looks, especially in the white/red/yellow colour scheme. Speaking of which, do they have Marmite in Italy?
