    A cracking ride around Borrowdale in the northern Lake District. Starting from Keswick and looping clockwise around the valley this ride packs in cracking descents, steep climbs and fantastic views.

    Did this yesterday (14.06.23).. @ 7:29 never seen it so dry, and loose. Binned it. And £2.00 for a small bottle of water at Watendlath cafe too, no ta.... Free tap water outside.

    Miss out the road section at the start by climbing up through castle rig, descend from falcon crag to ashness bridge

    I’m undecided on the bash, I’d need to do it again. Went up and over walla crag though, and down through the woods before Rossthwaite which was a bit too technical for me, less flow. The roads slogs and quite long for the rewards, better riding in other areas so far I think.

    Just done this today having watched this. What an outstanding loop. We didn’t go up the road to Ashness, but went up the hill from Keswick, I can highly highly recommend that

      It is a bit of a classic ride that one. Think the path you mean might be a footpath. I try not to ride them. I'm not massively against riding footpaths, but if I did ride them it's not something I would personally want to put in a vid on social media. Just a personal position.

    • @JWDTphotography

      Lakedistrictrider that’s interesting. The route I had picked was from lakesmtb.co.uk so assumed it was legit. Sad my the really technical rocky descent was swarming with walkers so we had to dismount, just means I’ll have to do it all again.

    • @Lakedistrictrider
      @Lakedistrictrider  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@JWDTphotography that's a shame. The national parks are getting really busy this summer. If you can pick a midweek day you might stand a better chance of a clear run.

    Great vid pal hopefully doing this in a couple of days. I'm running tubes, obviously I'll bring spares but do you think a tube will survive that castle crag descent. Looks gnarly!

    • @Lakedistrictrider
      @Lakedistrictrider  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks mate. I run tubes. Not converted to tubeless yet. Always a risk but I didn't get any flats that day.

    • @Lakedistrictrider
      @Lakedistrictrider  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks for getting the book, hope you enjoy it. It is a pretty well known route so there should be plenty of places online where you can find a description. I think Lakesmtb had it on their site at one time. Just watch out for those that take you over Walla Crag as that's a footpath 👍

      Thanks mate, yeah there are loads to go at. Grizedale Foest has a great selection of bridleways, Claife Heights also good. Kentmere area too.
      I have written a guidebook with routes of different lengths and grades. Might be worth checking out if you plan on doing a fair bit of riding in the Lakes.

    Great ride spoiled by far too many bobble hats stood in the middle of the bridle way making you slow down because of their dithering....

      Doesn't bother me mate, just bad timing not their fault. They have right of way anyway. I'm happy to wait. 👍
