    looks nice, you can extend your time to unwrap the Bar if you pull some hands of Water on the Big Field of Canopy, the Kite drags slower in the ending Position ;-)

    Hey buddy, I really enjoy your videos please keep them up. Can you recommend a Caribbean destination for a sail/kitesurfing trip this July? I'm looking to come over with my girlfriend from the UK for about 10 days. I'm inspired by your videos and would love to be on a cat like yours!

    • @JakeKelsick
      @JakeKelsick  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      I'd say Antigua or the Grenadines would be a good pick for ya. July is the very tail end of our season though so maybe bring a foil and a big kite. Also, check out a video from a trip we did in the Grenadines last year if you haven't seen it yet, super fun place if you have a Cat to explore. ;) - th-cam.com/video/J_-jgnTFH74/w-d-xo.html

    if only i could make it look that easy😂, i tried launching mine at about 22 knots it was a 7m and i launched it in the power zone and next thing i knew i was being dragged up in the air and about 50m away from where i started till i powered down the kite😂

    Great video Jake.. but why do you not use a rope harness?

  • @kylebakin
    @kylebakin 6 ปีที่แล้ว

    So I'm guessing you just keep pulling your front lines in to bring the kite all the way in when you want to call it a day. Would you be wrapping your lines on the bar during this process? Seems like it could get kind'a sketchy in heavy wind. BTW, heading to the exumas on a 44ft Cat in April so I may be trying this technique. Thanks for the videos.

    how do u get the kite back on the boat ?

  • @BertRoer
    @BertRoer 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    in more windy conditions this seams like so many things can go wrong

    • @JakeKelsick
      @JakeKelsick  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Like everything with kiting high winds change the game! Top tip if it’s super windy would be to flag it out instead of pulling a front line to get it back in. Reduces the chances of it taking off and going crazy big time. 🤘🏻

    Why dont you leave the lines connected to the kite. They wont tangle that way?

    The big question is how did you get back on the boat being attached to the kite before landing ;)

  • @oliverZ28
    @oliverZ28 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    Question: Sometimes when I am launching from a catamaran the way you show in this video, the middle lines get twisted with the outside lines. Problem is I only see this when the kite is too far from the boat. I cant use the untangling technique you show in one of your other videos. Any suggestions on what to do when this happens?

    • @dandevloo9860
      @dandevloo9860 ปีที่แล้ว

      Use a line manager
      Keeps your lines straight and you don’t have to drag your lines around the boat as he did then rewrap. What he does works but a lot more work

    Do it only if all together:
    1) you are experienced sailor
    2) you are experienced kiter
    3) wind is less than 20 knots
    4) another person of 1)+2) staying onboard
    I mean 1) and 2) is really important to see some nuances in this technique ) If you watched the video and say - wow that’s what I need exactly! - better forget about launching from boat )))

    Need a full tutorial of how to fix or repair kites. Its a real hard one. I guess no one is capable of giving out the detail. Such as how to take the tube and how to put it back.
