Even for good players, it's not the best captain. Maybe 10% of my Yamamoto Krakens had an outcome changed by the fact I was running Yamamoto. Meanwhile, I would've done more with any other captain.

Though indeed it's hard to get Kraken at time when it is most needed - unless you have a DD with torps and 3 kills and manage to get between 2 big ships, then you have decent chance of getting Kraken and that heal. Sadly though for some DD's the faster reload doesn't do as much as it should, due to latency. And agreed that he isn't the best captain. Or rather not very well rounded. He is either super useful or not useful at all.

If you get a Kraken Unleashed, the game is most likely over already. Even if the game isn't over, it's possible that the buffs don't change the outcome anyways (you would win/lose with or without the buffs). First Blood gives a consumable, but due to few consumables with long reloads, you often don't get a lot of benefits from this. Krakens aren't that common meaning most of the times, you don't get anything. Etc etc. In the end, the French legendary commander would be multiple times better for the IJN. For example, tcfreer would've done everything in this video if he could run Auboyneau on his ship.
Yeah but I think it is still a solid ship. With a concealment build you can rain HE from a distance. Plus the turret layout make it an excelent kiting ship. I enjoy it so much I have not moved to the Yorck because I know its a heavy cruiser

The Kamikaze R was actually a free premium you got for doing since charity missions I believe. Everyone and their mum had one of these back in the day. And it actually used to be worse than the Minekaze since that had 10km torps. So it only really became overpowered after the ijn dd reworked.
I preferred the 7km torpedoes. Faster, and iirc more damage. However what made the Minekaze better than the Fujin/Kamikaze (pre-nerf) was the speed; could get into positions and swap from a target Cleveland's starboard to port all in the time it took to reload.
Gotta admit, that the game looks nice, and I'm inclined to try and play it. However, I've played World of Tanks for several years, and I know of WG's shitty methods - like nerfing a ship and immediately introducing the over powered version as a premium. I'm just so done with that type of shitty business. It's WG, not the game itself that is keeping me from playing it.
Especially now that WG is trying to shoehorn subs into the game. Eveybody is a beta tester right now. The sub in this match was not very good, as it seems the rest of his team.
I'd have to agree. Once you have knowledge of shitty practice, it's near impossible to forget it or ignore future instances. It also doesn't help that this has been going on for so long that they're now beating the horse's gravestone. Maybe unrelated, but the MOST fun I've ever had playing WoWs was during the Big Hunt event, and part of me wonders what the player base was like before, during, and after that event.
yeah well wait for Steam And Steel - it's currently in the design stage and will hopefully be launched as a rival in a few years the idea for the project came from an Ex-WoWs CC (iEarlGrey)

I don't think I've ever seen a game where the first 6 kills against the enemy team were ALL devastating strikes. It was only at the 7th kill - the one against the enemy Aoba - that an enemy ship was not sunk by a devastating strike.
Just to check my crusty old brain cells Jingles… i think the Kamikaze R was a reward ship that came first for the pearls event which you had to grind and earn the pearls. People complained it was unfair that a percentage of people had this overpowered ship. So WG renamed the original ship kamikaze R - R being reward, then released the ship again as the Kamikaze with a different camo in the shop. Then realised there mistake after selling enough to get there coin income lol and pulled it from the shop for being over powered. Then came the supposedly nerfed “Fujin” which they claimed was an alternative to the tech tree ship!! But being a DD main i love all the ships i earned the reward Kamikaze R back in the pearl event and then got the other ships thru the Christmas boxes. Yes i hold my hands up i am a dirty rotten scoundrel as i play all the ships once a week, we all need a little fun in WOW’s 🙄🙄😂😂😂

Out of all of the versions of this ship, the Fujin irritates me the most because it’s one of the most Chinese-sounding Japanese names in the game. At least once I’ve mistaken one for a pan-Asian destroyer, charged its smoke in a gunboat DD expecting deep-water torpedoes, and eaten a Type 92 or three.

It was a time back in the early days of WOT in the Asia server when platoon up with 3x PzIIJ's in tier three. This was when the PzIIJ was only obtainable through the bonus code, the code had to be manually put in through WG asia staff since the code only worked on EU/NA/RU. So it was a dopamine effect when your top tier with 3x PzIIJ's when barely anyone has them in asia before WG had them on the premium shop many years later from that. Also the BT-SV was a good tier 3 light tank for zippng about in more open maps due to the speed.

Hi Jingles, I believe your chronology is a little off, Kamikaze, then Fujin followed by the Kamikaze (R), and there was a tiny difference to the pre nerf minekaze. The Kamikaze and Fujin DDs are 37 knots fast, the original Minekaze had a top speed of 39 kn

Akshuwally Jingles, the Kamikaze R and Fujin were released before the Minekaze nerf, as an exclusive reward ship and Halloween premium ship respectively. They were actually worse than the tech tree Minekaze, and thus no one cared. It was only after the nerf that people realised how overpowered these little monsters were. The regular Kamikaze, and the Kamikaze R re-run sales, were a definite cash grab by WG though, as they came after the nerf and well into the hype part of the timeline.
Yeah, fun event collecting pearls, and it was hardly taxing. Nothing compared to the dickyard (was a typo but I'm leaving it) and other grind fest events they have today.
Those poor new york players. Even if they had made an effort to dodge the torpedoes when they spotted the destroyer, the ship is so slow that the torpedoes probably would have hit anyways

You are completely right The fujin was introduced at Halloween 2015. This was when the Halloween event were the Des Moines released against T5 in Random

Jingles are you accepting new replays or is the replay vulnerability still not patched? I have a really great replay that should be a shoe in for a game of throws episode but I want to submit it when you can actually view it.
They also aren’t exact copies of the Minekaze (the guns aren’t laid out in the same way), although for gameplay purposes this makes no appreciable difference.

Kamikaze R was a reward ship (Event circa 1/2016 where you had to earn pearls each day for a month). You could never buy it. Kamikaze (no R) was a premium released later that could be had for money.
I am 99% certan i bought my funjin before the kamakazi came out. It was origanly a special japaneese festival ship and i am sure it was October and was only for sale for 1 week.
Congrats to tc on the win. Little disappointed with you jingles on the timeline of these premium ships however. All 3 were introduced pre-nerf, with the Kamikaze R being a free reward ship before the Kamikaze came on sale...cant remember exactly when the fujin was first introduced, but it was still pre-minikaze nerf. Also the twoKamikazes (and maybe the fujin as well?) were technically "worse" than the Minikaze at the time due to their worse AA (when AA actually made more of a difference...). Yes, now that the mini is nerfed these ships are way better then the tech tree because they weren't nerfed, but can you blame wargaming on this one? Its not like the community doesn't get pissed off whenever wargaming tries to nerf a ship that they spent hard earned money for (looking at you graf zepplin...and the lack of nerfs on stalingrad as well). Of course you can still make the argument that monetization of these 3 ships post nerf is still a money grab, but in this video you make it sound like they made these 3 ships specifically made to exploit the nerf, when in reality these ships were released something like 2 years prior to the tree changes.
I struggle to get a hit when aiming a *single salvo* of torps at the grey indicator, yet alone getting a kill throwing them all down the same trajectory.. Where are all these brain-dead battleships when I play destroyer?

The 3 Ships he mentioned were introduced Way before the Minekaze nerf. And to be honest the Minekaze was even stronger than the 3 due to much higher speed. So for once you can't blame WG about this as the Shops were not in Sale since then.
Let's be clear. The guns on this thing hit like a damn truck..... Once every 30 seconds or so. They don't fire fast, but they do deal a lot of damage to dds.

Hi Jingles, I believe your chronology is a little off, Kamikaze, then Fujin followed by the Kamikaze (R), and there was a tiny difference to the pre nerf minekaze. The Kamikaze and Fujin DDs are 37 knots fast, the original Minekaze had a top speed of 39 kn

I raise you Leonid Vasilyevich Kurchevsky and his twelve inch recoilless rifle mounted on the Soviet Navy destroyer Engels: the pictures of this vessel with its super sized giant naval recoiless rifle mounted are hysterical and I would not want to be aboard when somebody pulled the firing lanyard - and they could sustain a rate of fire of 2 rounds per minute with a trained crew...
look it up and I dare you not to wet your pants laughing or to snort your drink through your nose...

Akshuwally Jingles, the Kamikaze R and Fujin were released before the Minekaze nerf, as an exclusive reward ship and Halloween premium ship respectively. They were actually worse than the tech tree Minekaze, and thus no one cared. It was only after the nerf that people realised how overpowered these little monsters were. The regular Kamikaze, and the Kamikaze R re-run sales, were a definite cash grab by WG though, as they came after the nerf and well into the hype part of the timeline.
I remember earning my Kamikaze R through Project R.

Yeah, fun event collecting pearls, and it was hardly taxing. Nothing compared to the dickyard (was a typo but I'm leaving it) and other grind fest events they have today.

Those poor new york players. Even if they had made an effort to dodge the torpedoes when they spotted the destroyer, the ship is so slow that the torpedoes probably would have hit anyways

Admittedly Nuggan can take offence at pretty much anything - clocks, false teeth, ears, but especially submarines.
is tghe timeline correct? i recall getting my fujin way earlier then my kami R. think Fujin was a halloween ship maybe? or something? very early on, anyway! at that time minekaze still was stupid i think
You are completely right The fujin was introduced at Halloween 2015. This was when the Halloween event were the Des Moines released against T5 in Random
Nice to watch a good game, just sad I can't play any more - the new 'warning for unsporting conduct' engine is much more sensitive to 'inactivity'... and the game keeps crashing on me... and I don't like being blamed for this by their Tech support...

Jingles are you accepting new replays or is the replay vulnerability still not patched? I have a really great replay that should be a shoe in for a game of throws episode but I want to submit it when you can actually view it.
I bought my Fujin at Halloween 2015. Got the Kamikaze R through the "Project R" missions and the Kamikaze in a container.

Kamikaze R was actually obtained for free from an easy campaign. But the Fūjin was released before the Kamikaze R was available.
Actually. The Kamikaze was introduced way before the Split and the Minekaze nerf. And the Fujin was the first of them to be introduced.
They also aren’t exact copies of the Minekaze (the guns aren’t laid out in the same way), although for gameplay purposes this makes no appreciable difference.

Kamikaze R was a reward ship (Event circa 1/2016 where you had to earn pearls each day for a month). You could never buy it. Kamikaze (no R) was a premium released later that could be had for money.
I love my Fujin. First premium I ever bought. Love it's camo, and it is way overpowered.
I am 99% certan i bought my funjin before the kamakazi came out. It was origanly a special japaneese festival ship and i am sure it was October and was only for sale for 1 week.

minekaze´s guns are 120mm and in imperial system that would equal to 4.7 inches not 4.5 if memory serves correctly.
Congrats to tc on the win. Little disappointed with you jingles on the timeline of these premium ships however. All 3 were introduced pre-nerf, with the Kamikaze R being a free reward ship before the Kamikaze came on sale...cant remember exactly when the fujin was first introduced, but it was still pre-minikaze nerf. Also the twoKamikazes (and maybe the fujin as well?) were technically "worse" than the Minikaze at the time due to their worse AA (when AA actually made more of a difference...). Yes, now that the mini is nerfed these ships are way better then the tech tree because they weren't nerfed, but can you blame wargaming on this one? Its not like the community doesn't get pissed off whenever wargaming tries to nerf a ship that they spent hard earned money for (looking at you graf zepplin...and the lack of nerfs on stalingrad as well). Of course you can still make the argument that monetization of these 3 ships post nerf is still a money grab, but in this video you make it sound like they made these 3 ships specifically made to exploit the nerf, when in reality these ships were released something like 2 years prior to the tree changes.
I have not seen a Fujin in years. All the PTSD in my New York or Texas seeing that bastard round a corner.
Aside from greed, any idea why they didn't just up-tier these ships?

I struggle to get a hit when aiming a *single salvo* of torps at the grey indicator, yet alone getting a kill throwing them all down the same trajectory.. Where are all these brain-dead battleships when I play destroyer?
A long time ago I used to play this because of the minekaze. After nerfing that I unistalled the game :)
So what you’re saying is WG made a really good ship to buy, nerfed it and released another to get more money, nerfed it and released another to get more money, then nerfed it and released another to get more money? What a marketing ploy! Bravo!
The 3 Ships he mentioned were introduced Way before the Minekaze nerf. And to be honest the Minekaze was even stronger than the 3 due to much higher speed.
So for once you can't blame WG about this as the Shops were not in Sale since then.
They never nerfed the three ships. You also were able top get the Kamikaze R and the Fujin for free. So better inform before blame. ;)

Let's be clear. The guns on this thing hit like a damn truck..... Once every 30 seconds or so. They don't fire fast, but they do deal a lot of damage to dds.
