    I'm a veteran, found your channel looking for pull up for beginner level. I did one round of this and 3x50 wall pulls today, it was a struggle, but I have to start somewhere. I teach at Boulder Crest, and part of my job is to lead veterans and first responders in PT, which is intimidating because I have a lot of work to do myself. My goal is to be able to do a pull-up by my birthday in July and Ruck the 49lbs that I'm on my way to losing in next year's Bataan memorial. Thanks for putting so much time and effort into making these, they're great.

    I do like these shorter smoke sessions.
    Another way I like to train planks is weighted planks, doesn't have to be crazy heavy, about 10% of your bodyweight. I do it until I can easily do 2 minutes and then next workout I'll increase the weight.
    It beats deliberately training the plank and just hanging out there for 3 minutes straight.

    All I did to max my plank was find my starting point, and then at 10 seconds to it every week, planking for the appropriate time once a day. The young guys tend to not believe that it's that simple.
