Initial choices of this movie was totally different. female leads where Soundarya and Manju warrier and Ajith's role was approached 4 Prashant. And they even initially tried Arjun and parthiban for the role of Mammootty. Now I like to believe that all the changes were for the good

Director Rajiv Menon had clear vision as to who should play the respective roles. whoever has watched that movie will understand why Aishwarya Rai is for that role and why Tabu has been casted for the other role.
