    My son has 20 years experience with these frameless dumps. He has never tipped one but on a few rare occasions he has refused to dump in certain spots because they would have been a risk. He is also aware of this danger with loads frozen in the bed and is mindful of that as well.

    • @kenjett2434
      @kenjett2434 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @ you are absolutely correct and a good driver is smart enough to recognize potential problems. I know my son on occasion has refused to haul a load or dump one unless he could do it in a safer way. Didnt happen often but did happen. Some drivers buckle to the pressure and thats when accidents happen.

    • @kenjett2434

      @ thanks my son has been doing it alot of years now. He is currently driving with Penske trucking out of a depot here in WV. His main loads have been aluminum coils and plate out of Kaiser as his company has a contract with them. But for years he worked for R&J Trucking and a independent operator Chris Drayer those were all mostly all frameless buckets.

    I wished all the dump sites I've dumped at were this level. I've had to dump in high winds, on sand, and soft spongy soil. They will tip, I never laid mine down, several close calls though. I pulled a box, not a barrel like the one in this video. The company I pulled for had a couple barrel beds. They're lighter weight and allows you to haul more material. Most of the time your paid by the weight, so you want a light weight trailer. My trailer had a 10' spread axle, which allowed us to scale more.

This setup meets Federal Bridge Law Formula/System Nationwide and isn’t Limited to a Few Local States that May Recognize it. It Can also Be Cheaper than a 5,6, or 7 Axle Setup If Done Right. It Is also more Versatile than a Dump Truck as it can Hook & Unhook to Different Trailers un Like a Dump Truck which is Limited to one Application and for Only Part of the Year.

Everyone here is saying they're unstable but the fact is any dump trailer can flip easy enough if you aren't on top of things. It doesn't take a genius to realize that that style of dump trailer doesn't replace smaller & more stable trucks.

    So many comments on This Guys Truck & Trailer Setup. That setup is Universal & Meets Federal Bridge Law Formula/System (He Can Haul The Same Amount Coast to Coast, UnLike Those Dump Trucks) he is not Limited to one State's Bridge Law as he would be with a Tandem, Tri-Axle or Quad Axle Dump Truck. I'm sure he is hauling the same amount (25-26 Ton) as a Quad Axle Dump Truck, maybe a little more. As far as that Trailer Being Unstable, a 40' Frameless Trailers can be Less Stable, but I have seen 35' Tri-Axle Frame Type Trailers Tip Over To. Anytime you have 35-40' in the air you risk them rolling over whether it be a Frameless or a Frame Type Trailer. The ground you are dumping on & the weather outside is a Bigger Factor than the Trailer Type. I have experience with both types of Trailers.

    A lot of folks on here running their mouth without any experience pulling one of these trailers. I pull one identical to it every day and they have their place. I wouldn’t hesitate to unload where the ground is packed like in this video but I refuse to go anywhere slightly uneven or wet. And as far as payload, he’s probably got 25-30t on. Big upside to frameless aluminum dumps is they’re very lightweight. His tare weight is most likely around 28k. So he’s making more money than the guys pulling frame trailers. And the comments about it being a waste having that big of a trailer for such a small load is bs because in trucking you don’t go by cubic capacity you go by weight. He’s hauling the same as anybody else it just looks like a small pile because of density of product. Reason for this long of a trailer is he can then go load corn, beans etc and still get a load on.

    Guess he didn't have a lot of deliveries scheduled that day. How does he stay awake? He was pulling forward slow enough to think he was delivering eggs. Chris could've put his camera on pause for a while. Well, if he's the owner, guess he knows what he's doing w/ newer equipment like he has. Sweet KW.

    Pretty truck, but if you want to move material try a Michigan train or a Quad dump with a 6 axle wiggle wagon. If you have the right stuff you can straight dump the wagon and pull thru the front dump on a grade jub like this one

    damn little payload for such a big trailer. In Europe, we have four-axle trucks which are only half as long and take away a similar sized pile. This bling bling thing has a turning radius like a jumbo jet with this wheelbase. Totally impractical

  • @yt650

    I can see the mudflaps being ripped off the trailer in the back while hauling stone. Make a note of the size of the hydraulic hose that goes to the lift cylinder for the trailer can you imagine how many gallons of fluid must go through that relatively small hose to extend that cylinder and then back through the hose back into the tank.

    • @vaanes
      @vaanes 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Brian Gardiner I get where you’re coming from but it’s so common for the drivers to not put in the pin and have the thing dump 30 tons of dirt on a highway. We don’t hire anything but tri-axles anymore because of it, just not worth the headache.

    • @briangardiner1015
      @briangardiner1015 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@vaanes What pins are you talking about? I'm in AZ and bottom dumps are very common. The onlt problem is if someone accidentally flips a switch.

    • @vaanes
      @vaanes 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Brian Gardiner I misspoke, sorry, I meant the safety chains to keep the gate shut. Haven’t seen the things in a long time. Malfunctions in the gate and operator error caused enough of our brokered trucks to accidentally dump that we stopped running them. We don’t run our own trucks so we just stopped hiring them since the mess was still attributable to our jobs. With good drivers I can see them being great but good truck drivers are in short supply in my area.

    its shiney... but is it worth it? slow to turn around, slow to dump, slower to lower, sketchy as frig when dumping, and can really only carry a little more then a quad axle, and likely less then a truck and trailer, legally out this way it would be limited to 74,500# because axle spacing where a t+t with enough axles could go to 105,500, and be safer... its shiney though.
