He was a blast to learn from as you can tell. The personality and knowledge to adapt to different training needs of students goes a long way, not to mention skill and patience.
I wish we had more CFI’s like him as I’ve heard some horror stories!

Well! What can one say about this astonishing determined young woman? Just "shortly " after her 1st. solo she's already moving a step up the ladder to his instrument rating. Long gone those "shy & terrific moments" of anxiety combat in her early steps on the 172. Bravo Kim. Bravo this young yet competent cfi and the "push force" behind it. Mr. B.P. Bravo to all of you, specially Kim. Many happy landings from Portugal 🇵🇹 and a wonderful 2024 to you all.

Great job in staying with it! You will get it and your confidence will grow as you keep working hard like you are. If I may make a suggestion, when you’re making your radio calls, add in that you’re turning or on “left” crosswind/downwind/base as it helps identify your position to others.

“I don’t know what you were nervous about… but that looked great.”
I remember hearing that a few times in my life when trying something, and as reassuring as it was at the time, it was always sort of weird to hear. But having watched a lot of the videos on this channel, and now this one, it seems very warranted to say to you now. I get the nervousness as it’s a daunting thing to think about let alone do. But that looked outstanding. Every time I see you in the cockpit as the pilot flying, you seem more and more comfortable & more and more competent.
You’re going to be great! 👍🏼

I'm envious. During my three hours of instrument training for my Private I learned how to keep the shiny side up, how to recover from unusual attitudes, and how to follow vectors, but I never got to shoot an approach. Great job, Kim!

Mid-90s November I flew from Melbourne FL to Orange County NY. I needed to get my Swiss PPL swapped for a US one and so ended up flying with the instructor to Orlando Exec. He suggested I shoot a few IFR approaches, the last one ended up being in IMC! That bode me well, as I was the last in to Orange County, beating a lake effect snow storm by about 15 seconds!

What fun!!! I never got the chance to try that with my instructor though we did do a fair amount of hood work. One day he wanted to show me why learning to trust the instruments over your "feel" is so important. We were at @4500 and he says "look down, can't look at any instruments and try to keep the plane straight and level". Easy peasy I thought as I complied.
In a moment I feel/hear like I got too much power so I pull the throttle back. Happens again and the whole time I feel I am straight and level. A moment later he tells me to look up and the plane was beyond 30 bank, 15 degrees nose down and tightening. I was so confused that he took over to get us back to normal flight. "Never fly into clouds without IFR training he told me....Message received. I started my IFR, but time and cost had me stop. Getting the ticket was not the issue, being able to maintain if (6/6/6) was not in my economy (sigh). Nice approach.

    Great video, keep'em coming.
    She is doing great.
One thing I like about practicing same maneuvers on a home Flight Sim is one can go over the same procedurals 1,000 times helping me stay 1,2 or 3 steps ahead of the plane in real life.
In real plane with instructor and real physical & sounds at play one focuses solely on 1 job they were instructed to do.
In that "Right Turning Decent" it hopefully becomes a muscle memory to initiate or expect the nose to drop in a turn or make it so.
To me using Flight Sims procedures is like when a Basketball Player can practice 1,000 free throws in-between actual games to hone their skills.
Any real pilots here use Flight Sim to keep their muscle memory tuned up?

Ohh dear, nothing positive to take away here, which is a shame, it does though demonstrate that the CFI should not be a CFI, allowing bad situations to become worse without calling it or stepping in, good idea to make sure your windscreen is clean before going flying, especially knowing you will be turning directly into the sun. Shooting a instrument approach while you cannot nail a VFR approach and landing is madness and ego massaging, and you never take your guard hand away from the throttle below 500ft, unless your engine quits, there is of course many other displays of poor airmanship but what's the point in listing them all, no one is going to improve from it, at best it will indicate to non pilots how not too.

    • @timskiff9422

If its that bad, why would they post it?

    • @wayneelliott2462
      @wayneelliott2462 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

Probably because more than 99% of viewers will not be pilots so the viewers will not know better and possibly the provider(s) struggling for content to upload, who really knows? the fact that its posted though is the go to that its the way to do it, is a dangerous way too to view it and why I made the comments.@@timskiff9422
