I would say Deadlock's sound detector thingy isn't to catch flankers/lurkers before they do, but more so that you can place them in chokepoints so that they get stunned if they try to shoot you (to prevent a flank, put it where a flanker would shoot from and if he shoots just kill him when he's stunned)

I watched the geko speed run and saw ppl making jokes about you needing to finnish your cypher speedrun, so as a cypher main, I am personally insulted. When you gave the genius idea for ud to surest ideas what better idea than to not do a deadlocked speed run ( like the vid and don't have anything against its just funny:3 )
CHALLENGE: only use deadlocks tripwires as aggressive stun grenades (throw them mid fight to stun the enemies)
