I've tested on how Luck affects the game, what i've found is that it also affect Magicka cost in the game, by a lot.
200 Luck gives about 76% reduction in Magicka costs, which is overall very useful.
However leveling up luck is a bitch

Hey so I made a Khajiit monk build a couple days ago and I love it. I did not put speed or endurance as my favored attributes (instead going for strength and willpower) and I have a lot of regrets for choosing willpower over intelligence. My build also uses a fair share of magic, using alteration, restoration, and destruction magic alongside hand-to-hand combat in light armor. I wanted to max out my hand-to-hand damage by putting in strength (as well as warrior birthsign) and I wanted to be able to cast spells more often so I put in willpower. When I was making my character, I figured "alteration, restoration, and destruction are all governed by willpower, so that must mean that speccing into willpower makes them more effective" now that I think of it I should have specced into something different like intelligence. Another playing factor for why I chose willpower was the extra fatigue.

I just started playing oblivion 2 days ago and I'm addicted. It's amazing! Already ordered Skyrim and morrowind. I chose a melee/mage build but I love the whole stealth side of the game. Using conjuring and illusions to win battles. What's your favourite build? Love the videos keep them up!

I personally enjoy playing as an Assassin, I'll grab a dagger and sneak around every location to try to kill the hostiles without being detected. If I'm not playing as a stealth base character I become more of a battle mage, using my sword and destruction spells to banish my enemies.
From the sound of it, you would be a battlemage which means you're proficient in melee and magic combat. There's even a battlemage preset for class.
You teaching skills, including illustrations and simplification are top notch.

Does speed also makes your Melea attacks faster or does it only makes your walking and running faster?
As a practical matter higher Willpower does not help you in a fight, but higher Intelligence/magicka does (number and power of spells). That is why it is more practical to build Intelligence first. The game also provides a lot of low power sorcery potions for emergency recharge. To play this strategy, a mage can start out using 100% conjuration and then switch to Conjuration +Destruction or 100% Destruction to build Willpower later.
For Agility skills, higher skill is better than higher Agility so it is safe to put off working up Agility early in the game, or to choose a low Agility race for an archer or sneak character.

I have no idea wtf I'm doing wrong. I'm at the mission "Spies" and I seem to still be level 1. I haven't really done a lot of side quests, but I mean, I should atleast be lvl 2, shouldn't I? I have tried sleeping in a bedroll, but I'm still not leveling up. Please help? I'm stuck rn and I just wanna keep on playing :(
Open your inventory, go to the characters tab (the one with the health bar and such) then go across to the 3rd/middle tab. You should be able to see if you can/how close you are to leveling up.

Please help! I'm getting really frustrated with this game but want to love it. I wanted a powerful mage for magic combat & went for High Elf/Atronach based on online posts. Now I don't know whether to level up Willpower because it increases magic regeneration, which would be a waste because I can't regenerate it with the Atronach sign, but it governs destruction magic, which I wanted to be my main focus. I really don't wanna have to start again with a different birth sign. I know if I do that I'll never play the game again. Playing on Xbox 360 so no access to console commands.

The easiest way to acquire enchantment effects is from spells, by simply knowing and being able to cast a spell you can apply it to an item through an enchantment alter. You can buy spells from mages guild members.
Mythic Dwellers Right, I have the spells I want to enchant with but cannot use them. For example, fortify speed/athletics, etc can’t be used but I have them.
Then you need to level up your respective skill until you can use them, then you will be able to enchant your items.

Hey man. I was wondering one thing. I upgraded enough my major skills to level up, but I hadn't leveled up some of my minor skills to increase 5 points of both endurance and strenght. So when I arrived to 10 points in total of those skills, I went to sleep, but I found out that I can only add 4 points in those attributes. So I wonder if I had to have the 10 total increases of the skills before the game tells me to get some rest.
You can still level your minor skills to increase your endurance after you've increased your major skills to level up.
So if you rest to level and it's +4 then load an auto save and go level up the governing attributes minor skill. Then when you rest it should be +5.

@@eduardovaldes3643 I apologize, i did some research on the wiki and the quote i found was. "Your attribute bonuses are set when you gain your 10th major skill point. Training skills after that, but before you sleep/level-up, starts the process of accruing skills towards attribute bonuses for the next level-up. It is possible to sleep several times in succession with multiple level-ups."
@@MythicDwellers Okay, thanks. I tried to level down my major skills by going to jail. But it decreases your skills randomly, so I have to try and try again for I don't know how many times and well, it's not that important. First time playing to this, so I am not going to be hard on myself.

I own 4 copies of oblivion, 2 for xbox, the retail copy for pc and a steam copy. And there is so much to do I completely understand not finishing the main quest line! XD
I'm level 49 and I haven't started the main quest. I've only done the mage guild recommendations, a couple of Daedric quests and the go fish quest. Oh, and I own all buyable houses.

Can someone explain to me why I cant lvl efficiently-ish?
My problem is that when i try to lvl up and get something like +4 enurance, I reload and grind a couple more points in the required skills to be +5. But instead of getting +5, I still have +4. When I finally get over it and select the +4 option i notice that I can lvl up again with my endurance being +3 or something. Am I doing something wrong? Why isn't it adding up to each other?

First, The very Basics. You will only level up from leveling major Skills, not minor skills. You choose 7 Major skills in the tutorial, all other non selected skills are Minor. If you didn't create a Custom class the Class you choose in the Tutorial will have 7 Major skills, all viewable in the inventory.
Any skills you level up, once you’ve received the “rest to level-up” message will count towards the following level, not your current one. You have to level all your skills prior to getting 10 major skill levels causing you to level up. So if you level your major skills 20 times and don't want to "sleep to level" you'll most likely level up more than once.
So to efficiently level you don't want to level your major skills first, you used endurance as an example, if you have Block as a major skill, then you need to level up the other two skills that endurance covers. Armorer (Repair) and Heavy Armor.
Your Major Skills are what causes you level up, every other skill that you level (minor skills) will affect your Attributes leveling (Endurance +5). Both Minor and Major Skills will affect your attribute gain, but leveling the Major skills will force your character to level, and once you receive that level up message, all the levels you gain after that will change the attribute gain on the following level, not the current one.
So you want to level 30 times total (10 in 3 different skills) before your character is ready to level. 10 of those 30 being Major skills and 20 being minor.
Something that may help is when you choose your 7 major skills at the beginning of the game. You should choose at one skill from each of the Attributes. A major skill under each governing attribute because a major skill is easier to train, making it easier to increase that skill's governing attribute getting those final 10 skill levels easier.
Also, don't worry about not getting the max level up on all the skills when you level, efficient leveling is tedious and a lot of the oblivion community dislikes it for that reason. The only Attribute that is truly important to level fast is endurance, as its effects are cumulative.
I hope i've helped you understand Efficient Leveling, its hard to explain through typing. Also my apologies for the late reply i worked all day and didn't see your comment until now.

What if you for example grab everything from endurance as your major skills and grab nothing from speed and they all remain minor skills?
Will leveling your speed be useless towards leveling up?
Is leveling up your willpower useless when you are an atronach?
If so that would be a shame since my character is a breton sword/destruction hybrid currently living from the duped wylkind stones (even tho i really dislike using glitches to advance the growth of my character)

P.S. You really don't need to apologise for having a life and a job to someone on the internet.
If you get all 3 of the Endurance skills as Major skills, then every time you level endurance, you will be working towards leveling your character.
Since You didn't choose any Speed Skills as Major skills, yes they are all classed as minor and will not help towards leveling your character.
If you've done this just make sure you level only minor skills for the first 20, then the last 10 only Endurance. No other Major skills.
The Atronach birthsign makes willpower redundant as willpower is the speed you naturally regenerate magicka, and natural regeneration does not exist when you choose The Atronach birthsign.
The game does not feature any way to remove a known spell except for using the console commands on PC. Type “ player.removespell ” followed by the spell's Form ID. “ player.removespell 000A97CA ” this will remove the selected spell.
Mysticism is good for Soul Trap, detect life, Telekinesis, and Dispel spells.
Alchemy is good for making stronger potions. Like Healing or Regenerate Magicka Potions.
The Vanilla Sword (By which i assume you mean an Short Iron Sword) will cap out at 7 damage. You will need to upgrade to one of the stronger versions of the Short sword or Long Sword as the game progresses. As you level, hostile NPCs will spawn with high level equipment. Like an Ebony Short Sword.
And i'm apologizing as this is my little community in the internet and everyone deserves to be treated equally.

I would like to help. You may want to start over. If on PC and the Steam version, only enable Oblivion master, Wizards Tower and Knights of the Nine. Maybe Spell Tomes. Do NOT enable other DLCs because the rewards are leveled. The strength of enchantment you get is set when you enable the DLC, not when you go.
Let me describe my character first. High Elf male, Atronach, (custom class) Strength & Endurance, Stealth, Armorer, Blunt, Hand to Hand, Heavy Armor, Restoration, Illusion, Mercantile. Walk around with a pocket full of daggers and a few repair hammers. Use only blade until it gets to 100.
First quest is Brush with Death (but don't finish the quest, leveled reward). Then Mazoga's two quests so you have a place to live (let her do the fighting). Then try to finish Knights 9 before LvL 2. Take Casimires blessing and have 50 Endurance before LvL2. Then close the Kavach gate and use Martin to get the counts ring from castle Kavach (but dont give the ring to Matius yet, leveled reward). After that, look for nirnroots, fight mud crabs with daggers and repair while Martin waits at home. Play Speechcraft mini-game alot but NEVER put points in Personality, it's a useless attribute. Never Luck. Never use any other Major skills until Armorer is 100 (unless you have to). Doing this you should get +5 in Endurance, Strength and Speed (if blade and speed things like Lt Armor, run &jump go up 10 before Armorer). After armorer is max, block should get you the rest of the way to 100 Endurance. Practice Block in Erthor's cave or rat-lady's basement in Anvil by casting Drain Skill on the rats. Later on, you can get three +5 in other attributes by practicing minor skills and using Illusion's charm or light to level, training Mercantile, just ignore the +5 you would get in Personality.
I have two alternatives to Welkyn stones. Practice your magic in front of the Lucky Lady in Bravil, then click her and absorb the magic. Second is mysticism's Remote Manipulation, your Atronach can absorb that too. Steel blue mushroom and Flax makes restore Magic potions. There are two jewelry's you want, Spelldrinker Amulet (LvL 30+) and Sorcerers Ring. These two will give Atronach 101% spell absorb. For a very strong end-game character, search Felldew exploit. Parden my spellin. Hope this helped.
You can use peryite's shrine to train blade, blunt and hand to hand.

Does anyone else translate the character attributes and stuff apply to thenselves? Not much the actual scores, but wether you have high Personality ir skills.
Some of my attributes are red I don’t know why. I looked to see if a have a disease and I don’t. I don’t know how to bring them back up please help.
Go to the active affects page and it will show you what is causing the attributes to be red.
After that, then head to a chapel, remove all your gear, and use one of the alters. That should cleanse any spells/effects that are on your character.
Same problem here I went to active effects and nothing was wrong but my intelligence was still only 96 despite the fact that it was the first attribute I got to 100 please help
Morag Tong assassin Did you get hit by some intelligence draining spells? You could always look for some Restore Intelligence potions to get it back up that way.

By either using a sigil stone or the alter of enchantment at the arcane university.

Do the mages guild quest line get recommendations go to the imperial City then continue the quest and get your staff then there are enchanters in that room. I hope this helped!

can someone explain to me why some of my attributes are red? Like I had 100 agility but now its down to 94. Why is that? I looked at my constant magic effect, but no disease.
Some enemy damaged them. Willy-wisps and Dremora maces are common causes- damage, not disease.

Personality is (imho) the least important attribute. It makes NPC's like you ? ? Speech game, Charm spell or even Fame can do the same thing. Use this to your advantage by picking Mercantile and Speechcraft as Major skills. Endurance (as others have said) is the most important attribute so make Block or Armorer as a minor skill and raise 10 times, then train Mercantile 5 and play Speech game for another 5 and a level-up. You would have the option to raise Personality +5 but don't do it. During character creation I always choose Endurance and Strength.

It depends on which spells you own. If you have weakness to shock (high Elf) and weakness to magica you could make Shock 25 for 2sec , weakness to shock 100 for 2 sec , weakness to magica 100 for 2 sec , all on touch. it will do a lot more than 50 damage and few things resist shock. Another favorite if you have drain skill is Drain mercantile 100 for 1 sec on self. Use it just before training.
I call b.s. on Speed. As long as you do not wear heavy armor, any character can dodge any magic and outrun any city guard without having any added Speed. I would much rather raise Endurance, Strength, and Agility before adding any Speed. Most low Speed races have added movement rate, and normal "running around" will boost movement rate via raised Athletics skill.

How do I level up right without making the game unplayable? My first elder scrolls was skyrim so its disorienting to figure out how it's done here please help?
Its called Efficient Leveling, where from the beginning of the game you build a character around properly leveling your character. Races like the Breton's are very powerful and are a common choice for efficient leveling due to there endurance boost and natural magic resistance.
To efficiently level, you need to choose 1 Major Skill from each attribute. Selection skills that you have the most control over is the best idea. (Example: Don't pick restoration since you may need it to heal in a fight) You want to pick skills that you have the control over leveling so you can maximize the leveling of your attributes by leveling the minor skills. If you level an Attributes minor skills 10 times then you will get a 5 point increase in that attribute, which is extremely important for attributes like Endurance so you can get the most heath the quickest way possible. to balance the game focus on leveling your attributes/skill semi efficiently and prioritize Endurance in the early game to maximize heath.
So I chose restoration, block, blade, heavy armor, athletics, armorer, and acrobatics is that good for a warrior type character I chose an argonian with strength and endurance and my birth sign was the warrior

Using Goldbrand and Crusaders shield any armor recommendations?
Argonians are cool, and have some decent stats, however their native abilities are less than useful. As long as you're ok with that then an Argonian is great.
For your attributes, Agility is great if you want to be ranged, but if you want to focus on melee then Strength may be a better choice. For your other major attribute id recommend Speed or Endurance.
For your skills, The easiest rout is to choose skills you will naturally level up as you're playing. So pick the skills you will be using the most.
The leveling system is very confusing tbh

Endurance isn't that important, at least not for me, it's intelligence, strength and willpower

Too bad the only way to efficiently restore so much HP is to wait one hour... Restoration magic and potions are highly inefficient.

Holy, I had no idea that the Eden logo was so similar. This was my take/design with inspiration from the AC Abstergo Logo. I Will Adjust my logo to make it look more unique! I dont want people to think i just copied him!

oblivions attribute system is messed up and unbalanced imo especialy for stealth it makes me mad that end game unless u lvl strength u end up using bows only
