    We so partied to this song. The 70's rocked...I am so glad I grew up with this music...I love all kinds of music from every era, but there is something special to me about the 70's, going to concerts and free love. Seemed to be much simpler times for sure. No longer a stoner, but do not regret when I was. A hippie at heart even at 54.

    • @natev1956
      @natev1956 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      He's being sarcastic the fact that he saying "his memory isn't what it was" is a reference to the fact that Ed King who wrote this song isn't on stage with the band playing here! Get with the program.

    • @natev1956
      @natev1956 9 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      I must say Ed King was good and had his time in the band but Steve Gaines was a massive asset songs like you got that right and I know a little that he wrote those amazing phenomenal guitar licks in fact Artemis the drummer said that Steve and Ronnie were just coming into their groove when they died they would have been so much more amazing music

      @natev1956 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@cathywhite9415Ed King who wrote the famous guitar for this song was amazing but replaced by Steve who personally as a musician breathed new life into the band. I mean listen to the song "I know a little",,, Steve Gaines wrote the guitar for that just phenomenal!! and singing with Ronnie on "You got that right" Artimus said that Steve and Ronnie were just coming into their own when they died in plane crash along with so many others here.... there would have been so much more great music from them

      Every band before and since got their ass kicked that day haha. Maybe Queen at Live Aid matched this level, but it was only a 20 minute set and there’s only one guitar, and this music is just way cooler to me.

    Such a loss, a year later. Ronnie van Zant, Steve and Cassie Gaines died in a terrible aircrash.

    No other ass-kicking hard rock band in history could bring in three female back-up singers and be even more ass-kicking and hard rocking!

    Maybe, my favorite rock song of all time, love the jamming and the background singers; but, my heart is also very sad that some of them lost their lives in that tragic plane crash later on. May they rest in peace!

    I was hopin to see them then next year at14 and missed out had just seen outlaws! Then got turned on to the Real florida rockers. Im blessed to have seen 150 show easy but am so sad I missed the greatest front man of all time. before every cast while fishing I say, "this is for you Ronnie" as a fellow die hard bass man..... Steve broght so much just unreal to think he was new and filled the role to a T. RIP and may your energy be spread to us all.
