Hangzhou Xiangji Buddhist Temple in China

Experience China's 1000 year old buddhist temple in Hangzhou. Xiangji Temple was originally built 1000 years ago but had to be rebuilt hundreds of years ago due to fire damage. This temple is an authentic buddhist temple with working monks. The atmosphere is peaceful and authentic and the nature and surroundings are beautiful and relaxing.

It is beautiful 😁 I would love to show inside the shrine rooms but it’s seen as disrespectful to film Buddha statues and inside shrine rooms, so I don’t film inside unfortunately. Some of the rooms are very beautiful.

Lovely place but I prefer the Lingyin temple in Hangzhou with the old Buddhist grotto.

This temple was built in 326 ad, it is nearly 1700 years old.

Looks like the renovation is fairly new. I am sure it has been heavily vandalized during the Cultural Revolution.

It was destroyed by fires hundreds of years ago and re-built at least once

@@middlekingdomproductions To be honest, it looks like a brand-new building not more than 20 years old. Still lovely but definitely not ancient.
