Thank you guys for such an AMAZING YEAR I have big plans and goals for next year: primarily FINALLY applying for League Partner Program (when/if riot re-opens applications) and reaching 100k subs. Once/if we reach 100k subs btw we're going to be doing a bigass SUBATHON with lots of sub goals, should be a lot of fun should it happen :D ALSO a big thanks for all the support this month, 1/4 of all the videos released this year on this channel released this month, and well I can't promise I can keep up that streak, with the help of some good gamer friends we'll hopefully be able to get more content out to you guys more often (i.e. no more 2-4 month disappearances)
It may have been a disappointing year for League, but I personally had a blast enjoying your and fellow content creators' stuff all the way through. Keep it up
What differentiates Rell from other engagers to me is her AOE. While the others have 1 or 2 abilities, usually their ult that does AOE, every single one of Rell's abilities can hit multiple targets, which gives her a slightly weaker laning phase, but greater teamfight potential to me.
Dont forget her engage being completely neutered if cc even vaguely looks at her. Rakan's is also stopped I suppose, but at least he has an out afterwards.
Problem is her cc isn't hard cc. Her W lasts a second and a half, but her E only lasts zero point five seconds, and her ult is a very short pull that cancels channels and then only drags. She can't chain as hard as many other CC based supports. Of course, the fact you can't shorten her W or R cc is pretty great. Watching people build tenacity for me alone is hilarious.
@@dimyell Personally I think that her cc is short because it can affect so many people, and riot didn't want to release a lot of cc lock down for an entire team. The w + e + ult combo can be enough already for my teammates to wipe the entire enemy team.
@@ald6773 of course, not saying she's weak. I do wish she at least had a slight defensive boost when dismounted over her current 10 percent bonus MR/AR. Being dismounted should be an option, not a weakened state.
Taric didn’t really get “mini reworked” they just changed how his link mechanic interacts with certain things, so now if a link partner goes untargetable (Yi Q, Zhonyas, etc) Taric’s abilities can’t cast from them while they are in alpha or stasis and if they go in stasis while an ability is going off it gets deleted from the link partner
@@Gorecatto It used to be, but Fimbulwinter got introduced which means you can now add/start Tear as Taric and it completely changes his early game efficiency, he's really good now
Honestly, if anything, Gwen is an anime character actually done right. If we didn't get dozens before her she'd actually be special and unique, because her design and animations capture her story perfectly
Okay, so here's how I feel about Gwen: while I think she's ultimately a missed potential because we already have so many anime characters in league, TB Skyen make the good point that her design, on her own, is rather fun and well-executed. Her animations are goofy, her design is Wonderlandy, and she really does seem like the idea of a princess that a little girl would have. So... silver lining, I guess?

@@Exel3nce that’s the sad thing, Gwen’s design by all metrics is REALLY good. She had two themes to lean into, the princess and the doll. They chose the princess and did it flawlessly, but in league it just blends into background. Even if they had just given her yarn hair or some ball jointed segmentation in her limbs they could have saved her😔

I started playing league at the very beginning of this year, I immediately flocked to playing Kench cause a friend told me he had a funny name and was a funny fish, he has since become my favorite champion in the game thematically (braums a very close second tho), the idea of an everpresent demon, who exists everywhere, at all times, in all places, offering those of any walk of life an escape is so fucking cool, but all of that is so lost with his mini rework. Instead of being a force thats always there, and being a constant threat around the map, he's now a hard to kill lane bully whos particularly good at running away, and as a support he's just fat rakan. Old abyssal voyage has led to some of my favorite plays and moments in my time playing league, now I can hardly stomach one game of this champ :/

The way they handled his old W to making it his new R was a genius idea to get him away from pro play and more playable for normal players. I feel that Gwen is the one character where her anime perfectness fits perfectly. She's a doll, made to be pretty and cute, turned human. Having her human form be some exceptionally creepy thing wouldn't suit Isolde's vision of her, and since it's Isolde's magic that brought her to life I think Isolde's vision of Gwen would influence Gwen's form. Also, I really like her personality. She's not obnoxious to me, she's just passionate about everything. She gives me the same vibe as Ivern actually.

Thats true, since Isolde wanted to make her fantasies of a perfect princess or so, because she herself was poor before she came to Viego, without any real hope of seeing how it is in reality. I doubt she would have made the doll creepy or ugly on purpose, so it just makes sense Gwen looks the way she does. Shes the only character in the game who was made perfect looking on purpose because lore demands her to be that way.
@@antoniodelaguila4967 If you have a team that knows how to follow up she has amazing setups. I have given pentas to Dianas and Yasuos just by landing a 5-man ult. But that is all she has is setup. Her range is shorter, damage is lower, cc is shorter, and less reliable then Leona and Nautilus. Plus if you miss your main form of engage you're going to take damage because you slow yourself. She also feels squishier than Leona and Nautilus. What got me hooked on her is one game we were behind I landed a five-man Rell ult which allowed my teams Diana and Yasuo to both 5 man ult. That play single-handedly won the game.
I play a lot of Rell. I find myself trying to play her and failing cause I cant get my ADC to respond to engages. Either that or they complain I do nothing cause I fear the above.
My biggest issue with the tahm rework was the fact i loved playing him jungle and his devour such a good source of damage for it that having it be an R kinda sucks
The worst thing with the tahm rework is that he's more broken in the top lane than ever before. I wanted that guy gone from my lane he's a teemo level nuisance while ten times as broken (well I guess before they doubled teemo's blind duration and halved its cooldown). There's a reason why I moved from maining top to jungle for this season.

I want to agree with Gwen, but something about the insane quality of her animations and her ridiculously good default skin surprised me. Her kit is a little bland but I kinda like her. Also, she roasts Seraphine.

I went from playing ranked every day to only playing a few games with friends every other week and nowadays league makes more fun then ever. Just cause I dont play to win, just to fuck around and have fun with friends
I love Vex because of her Lore, her Voicelines, her Design, her Gameplay, and her Voice in Italian, which is one of the best dubbers in Italy and the most appropriate voice for her
I was a die hard TK main, highest mastery points by far with level 7, i loved the fact you could just run at people, auto them 3 times and have them not be able to do anything, his new W is just too fucking slow for how little ground it allows you to cover, moving his devour to his R essentially takes the warden out of the warden class since you cant protect your lane buddy except once every 2 minutes and if you fuck it up, your lane buddy is doomed because youre not gonna stop shit with that pathetic new W, ive stopped playing TK nowadays because he just isnt the same, mundo has kinda filled the hole TK left but its not perfect, i do really enjoy mundo but i dont think anything will replace what TK left
Tahm is so much better now though? Actual use for an ultimate, saving teammates for more than a quarter of a second, more mobility and an actual, usable form of cc. Old tahm was basically a madman running at adc, trying to do 3 basic attacks and failing, using his R trying to move with teammates, but more teammates use Thresh's lantern than old Tahm's ult.

What I like about Gwens design is that she is the most human looking design from the shadow Isles, we have so many technically prior human champions like hecarim and Thresh who look like monsters, and now we have something that isn't human, and it looks the most human.
Yeah well. The concept of the shadow isles is that this place is a corruption so powerful just being there could cost you your soul. I mean, with the lore they did it "makes sense" why she is this way. Yet I cant help but feel disapointed by her design. She is an anime character on an isle where everything is corrupted beyond recognition and just like Viego, she looks too... Normal compared to every other shadow isle character.
Gwen represents the light in the middle of the mist, according to the lore she is a girl who was not corrupted, on the contrary she is made entirely of sacred mist which makes her the complete opposite of the island, that's why her design is so cute for So to speak, she also adores life and wants to take advantage of it as much as she can since she won't know how much longer she will keep alive, that's why her cheerful and curious personality
I used to main Tahm Kench Jungle before his rework. He was incredibly fun to play and could effectively box many meta junglers. He had a really good clear and decent ganks, and after lvl 6, became a long range ganker that could just appear and wreck house. Now I don't touch him. He can't jungle anymore. His clear is difficult/ nonexistant. It is severally disappointing what they did to Tahm Kench.
I still play him in the jungler, he clearly isn't made for that but i try to go diamond playing him with hail of blades and having an agressive playstyle in early. I am stuck in platinum 3 but it is in the range to acceptable jungler to good.

As someone that started playing league like 4-5 Months ago for real, a lot of the changes have really made the game easier to get into and it’s been a blast. I know everyone hates on season 11 but man it’s the first time league ever seemed interesting and I’m glad I decided to try it again for real.
To me Rell is definetly the winner of this season, her concept and her abilities make her pretty unique, I dont care about her damage, she is a support after all, what I dont like is having nautilus or thresh deling damage. The worst were viego and gwen, I was very hyped to finally see the ruined king in person to find out he was another sexy eboy with his face taken out from instagram.
The problem is that , support players want to be able to do something when alone , like finishing someone if you adc dies or if youre ahead and someone is way out of position. Its just so frustrating when you are powerless because your adc made a bad call or is in a bad day. At least i think this is one of the reasons that mage "supports" became so popular , they can actually do something alone
Imo support should all be able to deal damage and especially if they invest into it. Being entirely dependant on other people is not only frustrating when they continously make bad decisions, but also heavily limits variety in builds and playstyle. Look at Taric for example. A tanky, protective support who links to someone, but you can still play him top or jgl (the latter of which I definitely recommend, very fun and suprisingly effective) because of his high base damage and amazing synergy with certain offensive items (shean, onhit, etc). Rell just doesn't work at all on her own, she practically only has 2 spells. And her R is not worth using when alone.
You don't like Nautilus dealing damage? Did you know that he's not even considered a support? He's a fighter/tank, by riot's classification. And he used to be a toplaner/jungler back in the day.
14:08 I know this has very little to do with the actual video, but TK has easily top 10 best champ music imo. It fits his visual aesthetic and lore flawlessly, plus it just sounds so fire regardless of what it's associated with.

Tahm pre rework was a mess, now he's too strong and needs some major nerfs for top lane but in terms of his long term health.... yeah it needed to happen. (BUT FOR GOD SAKE RIOT NERF HIM SO I DONT FEEL LIKE A PIECE OF SHIT FOR PLAYING HIM TOP LANE MY GOD IT'S BEEN SO LONG)

@@chaotixthefox mostly how a usable his old W was in pro play, how his entire kit needed to be balanced around it, how he was able to strongarm top lane even HARDER than now (but also fell off harder due to a lack of a combat ultimate), how his ult was SO good in pro play since it was great for organized rotations etc…. He was a balance nightmare. Now he should be easier to balance since his most broken ability, devour is an ultimate and thus has a long CD. I say “should” because he STILL HASNT BEEN NERFED
@@jairartis That's not a mess, just designed a little too well around coordination. Paying the pro tax like a few other champs have. Viego is a mess, all his power is loaded into his passive and ult in the worst way, and he causes a new bug every week. Unfortunate coincidence that Kench's most fun ability is also his strongest.
Rell's problem gameplay wise is that her kit involves both heavy CC/Diving and Stat-Shredding. Which I guess Riot wanted to avoid having too much damage on top of stat-shreds on a dedicated tank.

As a kench support main I was interested to see what kind of criticism you had towards his mini rework and you are absolutely damn right about his rework. It ruined a perfectly fine champion beyond recognition and just made him anouther unga bunga toplaner. Its sad. I think most older kench mains can agree that we all want the old kench back. I guess we can all be happy he didn't get the aatrox treatment.

His old ult range got heavily decreased You couldn't get stacks of his passive with his Q anymore Swallowing an ally slowed you instead of giving you a speed boost They are all extremely stupid nerfs that pushed down a champion who was already as low as they could go. In my opinion I think this rework could've been skipped if they did not make those nerfs.
Gwen was my favorite champ this year followed by vex. I'm a sucker for champs with blue as the main color scheme (Ryze being my favorite champ) I see your points with design but to me it made sense. From what I remember isdole made her cute so that's not a problem for me. But some more doll imagery could have probably sold her design a bit more to others. Her gameplay is some of the most fun I've had since Pyke came out but the only thing holding her back is that she's AP and there are like no AP bruiser items. Anyway, those were my thoughts. as someone who hates tanks in league i have to say. Rell will always be a true tank for me. she doesn't deal dmg yet has AOE stuns to help her team. normal tanks just oneshot everything that tries to fight them but Rell will be a true tank for me.
I do hope that Riot starts making less new champions and starts focusing on modernizing old champions instead. It's high time that Zilean looks like he time traveled from Shurima instead of from Freedom Force for Windows XP
Old Swain and Old Nunu. God the nostalgia is hitting strong. I relish the memories of when top lane was an absolute shit lane and I got to diamond by being the only nutcase that actually mained top and wasn't just filled into it. Abusing top noobs with cheesy picks like Frozen Mallet Teemo, Rylai Swain, Doran's Ring Nunu/Pantheon spell spam, AP Tristana, AP Runes Shen, and Gunblade assassins was some of the most fun I've ever had in League.
I really like Rell. I wish people could acknowledge her existence sometimes, but that means I can still play her with no risks of being banned or picked lol She's just so... Balanced. Not even weak. Just not broken as hell, just... Fine. She's the only thing that keeps me playing league, and I'd like her to get a good skin. The armor fact you mentioned made me very sad though. But you're right, sadly :(
For me Viego is the stand-out of the year. I mean, Rise of the Sentinels event completely made him into a fucking joke but prior to that? God I love almost everything they did with him. - Making him young bastard was a great move (or so Im telling myself because the generic atractive person shit that riot just repeats over and over just happens to fit him perfectly) - He is believable - He WAS intimidating (prior to event) - His gameplay was pretty simple except his passive that is just so fucking fun to use (Im glad they nerfed the healing on it and his Q on lane.... it made him into a stat check, now he is alot less of such) With this Viego I dont even have much things I'd improve about him. Maybe some Royality elements in his outfit except the ghost crown... and he makes for exciting release.. sad they fucked him up so badly during the event :C

I like viego, he is esentially master yi with actual crowd control for ganks, he looks cooler, and im building kraken on him always so i dont feel like an asshole. He is the champ that got me into jungling this year, alongside vi and volibear. Love him or hate him, he feels good to play.
Viego is like a thing u hate so much that you literally cant stop playing him, being a paper, a scumbag playstyle, a pathetic simp, but we still play him because his kit is so satisfying to play
In defense of Viego, isn’t having a high skill ceiling and a low skill floor… good champion design? Isn’t that what you, as a developer, strive for? Something that even new players can sink their teeth into but, in order to actually go places as they face more skilled opponents, they have to themselves get better. Yeah I get that it can feel unfair when an enemy champion is easier to play than yours, but not every champion should be Uber hard requiring ten years of experience to even be close to learning them. I’m not saying viego’s perfect though, I do agree that his survivability is bullshit because of his passive and his build path.
Having a high skill ceiling and a low skill floor is good game design for games themselves but I don't think it's as good when applied to characters within video games (especially competitive once), because having a high skill ceiling usually means having more outplay potential and combining that with lower skill floor means easier and quicker access to those mechanics which makes character completely broken. Regardless there are good example for high skill ceiling and low skill floor champions like: Yasuo?!, Ezreal, Viktor?!, Bard, S10 Irelia, Lee, Zed?!, and Shen?! (they aren't really crystal clear) your average player can utilize their kit to some degree but can't be nearly as much dangerous as a master, and bad examples would be : Akali, current Irelia, Katarina?, Yone, and Samira, your average player can move the enemy team from desktop to the trash bin a bit slower and less cleaner than a master. But that's just my humble opinion.
The problem is... Yes, ideally a character should have a low skill floor so new players want to try it out and a high skill ceiling to reward players who dedicated their time to that character. But that only works in isolation. When you have over 150 champions that are supposed to interact with each other and be somewhat balanced compared to one another, except some of them were released over 10 years ago with outdated kits compared to modern standards... You can't apply that principle, because you end up creating champions that seem blatantly unfair compared to the rest. Let's imagine that Lux is a low skill floor low ceiling champion, Akali a high skill floor high ceiling champion, and Viego a low skill floor high ceiling champion. Objectively, which one feels the most rewarding to play? It's gonna be Viego. Sadly, champions aren't born equal to one another in League and since balance must be maintained... You can't have a low skill floor high ceiling champion in League, that just makes him extremely overpowered and unfun to fight.
What surprises me most about Akshan is how Riot hasn't removed half his passive effects yet. I know he's sneaky, but to think he can keep sneaking past Riot's balance team that much is surprising.
I actually loved the Kench rework, I hated him before his rework, and now he feels way more fun to play. By the way, the dive is still possible, you still can ult and W, no problem.

As a tahm kench support main i love the rework, the w is sooo much more fun than the old ult. But i wish they lowered his damage and highly lowered hos ult cooldown by at least 20 seconds and he would be perfect. Maybe make the cooldown much lower but weaker shield
I think it's funny how they wanted to make Tahm just a support with the mini rework but they ended up consolidating him as a solo laner because they took away everything that made him a support. What are you going to do as a support now? Eat your ally once every 2 minutes? Knock enemies up with your W? Possible, but not the best option for a support. As a Tahm Kench top main I'm ok with the mini rework, it took a bit of time getting used to it, but now he's a strong pick. If I were a support main though... I would be pretty sad because he lost most of his strength there. So I encourage anyone who is interested in the champ to try him top. Don't let the slow W put you away, the trick to land it is slowing the enemy first with Q or casting it while you aren't seen. Also, you can just use it to reposition. The Q healing is my favourite part of the rework very useful to stay alive.

Gwen is such an interesting character. I love that they gave us a new AP bruiser since it has been ages since the last one, I love her thematic of being a living doll, I LOVE her giant scisors because they are so cool! Issue is... she just kind of feels out of place. She was introduced so poorly in the game as well. She should have had the same doll texture on her skin and such, the whole stitching to flesh is just not it for me.

I loved Rell when she came out, and I wanted to main her when she came out too. Then I saw that she did no damage... and her gameplay was very weird when compared to other tank supports... and that she was a tank support. I understand that we didn't get any new support options recently, but I think it would have been much better to place her as a top laner, since she does act like a loner in her lore, and voice lines. Plus I think they took the damage she was supposed to get and moved it to the other champs in this season, lets be honest.
The only reason in the lore imo that would make her a support is that eventually I think she would need to trust allies to succeed in taking down the Noxians. I mean she is only 16 after all with trauma. So having her as a supp isn't as bad, but to not make he be able to go about it alone as well is quite disheartening since she's suppose to take down Mordekaiser who is a Top laner.
I think the biggest reason for the Tahm Kench changes are because be was known for trolling teammates more than for just being a normal support. Changing the devour so it's his ultimate makes it harder for people to pick it as a troll pick

I knew you wouldn't like Gwen and rating her last isn't a surprise but I'm glad you said that she does what she is supposed to well, it just isn't for you, because I, for one, like her design and what she's supposed to be, and it's true, she does it well. For me I would probably rank Rell last as I really do not care at all about her, akshan also low because I absolutely hate him and probably gwen, vex and mundo rework as my top 3 favourites. The thing is that, this year for Toplane kt was complete shit: Divine Sunderer, Goredrinker and Stridebreaker existing Gwen being absolutelly broken for one patch and then botched so bad that now playing her feel like playing offmeta because the horrible itemization Tham Kench being S tier for half a year and still dominating TP nerfs (I still believe it will be for midlane casters b3ing broken and using it and not because they remember toplane existed) Heck I even started playing even more aram and Jungle (wich frustrates me a lot) because i want to avoid toplane, its so sad just remove the lane alredy I miss S10 toplane, it was a lot less toxic than what it is now.
The only thing I'd change on Gwen is having her passive apply to jungle monsters; I'd love to use her a jungle and gank with her ult while resisting cc with W
Your issues with Gwen is likely due to not knowing her lore, if her lore was designed first( which would make sense since they probably were designing the storyline of the ruined king before making the finalized character designs) then it should be excused since her lore states that Gwen is Isoldes idea of a high class aristocrat but since she is a peasant she sees the aristocrats as great, kind, jolly people so that’s why when her soul goes to Gwen she becomes an anime girl and not some monstrous doll, otherwise if her design came first then I agree.(this could be some bias from me tho I do have 230k points on her already and by far my most played champ period) Edit: I’m also ace like Nicky so no, it’s not horny fueled bias at the very least.
Honestly i feel the opposite with tahm but that's because I genuinely love everything about tahm to the point where I can look past the disappointment and legit I did like playing him more top then support since the mini changes before they reworked him since he unfortunately became a prostaple which meant my favorite champion got nerfed so hard that he wasn't worth playing when I had to become a a pro player trapped in gold just to make the champion work as well as he did before
I don't even think genshin could make an uninspired and generic character as much as gwen, as a genshin player myself, I can confidently say that all their characters have distinct designs, personalities (that are more complex) and cultural details, whereas Gwen is just some blue haired girl in a Victorian dress, I don't think mihoyo would release a character as generic as gwen, ever XD
While Gwen may look like a GI character, i can't help but love her voices and character overall. I'd say she's a better design that sona 2.0-i mean seraphine. Akshan on the other hand....he's the one i hate the most. Not because his kit, but because he basically stole yorick's role in the ruination event, and for that i cannot forgive male samira.

What differentiates Rell from other engagers to me is her AOE. While the others have 1 or 2 abilities, usually their ult that does AOE, every single one of Rell's abilities can hit multiple targets, which gives her a slightly weaker laning phase, but greater teamfight potential to me.
Dont forget her engage being completely neutered if cc even vaguely looks at her. Rakan's is also stopped I suppose, but at least he has an out afterwards.
Problem is her cc isn't hard cc. Her W lasts a second and a half, but her E only lasts zero point five seconds, and her ult is a very short pull that cancels channels and then only drags. She can't chain as hard as many other CC based supports.
Of course, the fact you can't shorten her W or R cc is pretty great. Watching people build tenacity for me alone is hilarious.
@@dimyell Personally I think that her cc is short because it can affect so many people, and riot didn't want to release a lot of cc lock down for an entire team. The w + e + ult combo can be enough already for my teammates to wipe the entire enemy team.

Gwen has the best, unneeded animation in the game. Stopping her joke to move leaves her in doll form for a bit. Not needed, but loved.
Taric didn’t really get “mini reworked” they just changed how his link mechanic interacts with certain things, so now if a link partner goes untargetable (Yi Q, Zhonyas, etc) Taric’s abilities can’t cast from them while they are in alpha or stasis and if they go in stasis while an ability is going off it gets deleted from the link partner
So..... they just, nerfed him.

Rell's story could actually be pretty great if they just EXPANDED THE NOXIAN ONGOING STORYLINE BEYOND WANTING TO INVADE IONIA.
Honestly, if anything, Gwen is an anime character actually done right. If we didn't get dozens before her she'd actually be special and unique, because her design and animations capture her story perfectly

Okay, so here's how I feel about Gwen: while I think she's ultimately a missed potential because we already have so many anime characters in league, TB Skyen make the good point that her design, on her own, is rather fun and well-executed. Her animations are goofy, her design is Wonderlandy, and she really does seem like the idea of a princess that a little girl would have. So... silver lining, I guess?

They chose the princess and did it flawlessly, but in league it just blends into background. I started playing league at the very beginning of this year, I immediately flocked to playing Kench cause a friend told me he had a funny name and was a funny fish, he has since become my favorite champion in the game thematically (braums a very close second tho), the idea of an everpresent demon, who exists everywhere, at all times, in all places, offering those of any walk of life an escape is so fucking cool, but all of that is so lost with his mini rework. Instead of being a force thats always there, and being a constant threat around the map, he's now a hard to kill lane bully whos particularly good at running away, and as a support he's just fat rakan. Old abyssal voyage has led to some of my favorite plays and moments in my time playing league, now I can hardly stomach one game of this champ :/

I feel that Gwen is the one character where her anime perfectness fits perfectly. She's a doll, made to be pretty and cute, turned human. Having her human form be some exceptionally creepy thing wouldn't suit Isolde's vision of her, and since it's Isolde's magic that brought her to life I think Isolde's vision of Gwen would influence Gwen's form.
Also, I really like her personality. She's not obnoxious to me, she's just passionate about everything. She gives me the same vibe as Ivern actually.

Thats true, since Isolde wanted to make her fantasies of a perfect princess or so, because she herself was poor before she came to Viego, without any real hope of seeing how it is in reality. I doubt she would have made the doll creepy or ugly on purpose, so it just makes sense Gwen looks the way she does.

@@antoniodelaguila4967 If you have a team that knows how to follow up she has amazing setups. I have given pentas to Dianas and Yasuos just by landing a 5-man ult. But that is all she has is setup. Her range is shorter, damage is lower, cc is shorter, and less reliable then Leona and Nautilus. Plus if you miss your main form of engage you're going to take damage because you slow yourself. She also feels squishier than Leona and Nautilus. What got me hooked on her is one game we were behind I landed a five-man Rell ult which allowed my teams Diana and Yasuo to both 5 man ult. That play single-handedly won the game.

The worst thing with the tahm rework is that he's more broken in the top lane than ever before. I wanted that guy gone from my lane he's a teemo level nuisance while ten times as broken (well I guess before they doubled teemo's blind duration and halved its cooldown). There's a reason why I moved from maining top to jungle for this season.

her power budget is so off. her q has to deal almost 0 damage because it’s the most spammable shield breaker in the game right now.
I was a die hard TK main, highest mastery points by far with level 7, i loved the fact you could just run at people, auto them 3 times and have them not be able to do anything, his new W is just too fucking slow for how little ground it allows you to cover, moving his devour to his R essentially takes the warden out of the warden class since you cant protect your lane buddy except once every 2 minutes and if you fuck it up, your lane buddy is doomed because youre not gonna stop shit with that pathetic new W, ive stopped playing TK nowadays because he just isnt the same, mundo has kinda filled the hole TK left but its not perfect, i do really enjoy mundo but i dont think anything will replace what TK left

Tahm is so much better now though? Actual use for an ultimate, saving teammates for more than a quarter of a second, more mobility and an actual, usable form of cc. Old tahm was basically a madman running at adc, trying to do 3 basic attacks and failing, using his R trying to move with teammates, but more teammates use Thresh's lantern than old Tahm's ult.

What I like about Gwens design is that she is the most human looking design from the shadow Isles, we have so many technically prior human champions like hecarim and Thresh who look like monsters, and now we have something that isn't human, and it looks the most human.
Yeah well. The concept of the shadow isles is that this place is a corruption so powerful just being there could cost you your soul. I mean, with the lore they did it "makes sense" why she is this way. Yet I cant help but feel disapointed by her design. She is an anime character on an isle where everything is corrupted beyond recognition and just like Viego, she looks too... Normal compared to every other shadow isle character.
Gwen represents the light in the middle of the mist, according to the lore she is a girl who was not corrupted, on the contrary she is made entirely of sacred mist which makes her the complete opposite of the island, that's why her design is so cute for So to speak, she also adores life and wants to take advantage of it as much as she can since she won't know how much longer she will keep alive, that's why her cheerful and curious personality
I used to main Tahm Kench Jungle before his rework. He was incredibly fun to play and could effectively box many meta junglers. He had a really good clear and decent ganks, and after lvl 6, became a long range ganker that could just appear and wreck house.
Now I don't touch him. He can't jungle anymore. His clear is difficult/ nonexistant. It is severally disappointing what they did to Tahm Kench.
TBH if they buffed him to be a competent jungler it would have been so much better
I still play him in the jungler, he clearly isn't made for that but i try to go diamond playing him with hail of blades and having an agressive playstyle in early. I am stuck in platinum 3 but it is in the range to acceptable jungler to good.

As someone that started playing league like 4-5 Months ago for real, a lot of the changes have really made the game easier to get into and it’s been a blast. I know everyone hates on season 11 but man it’s the first time league ever seemed interesting and I’m glad I decided to try it again for real.
To me Rell is definetly the winner of this season, her concept and her abilities make her pretty unique, I dont care about her damage, she is a support after all, what I dont like is having nautilus or thresh deling damage. The worst were viego and gwen, I was very hyped to finally see the ruined king in person to find out he was another sexy eboy with his face taken out from instagram.
The problem is that , support players want to be able to do something when alone , like finishing someone if you adc dies or if youre ahead and someone is way out of position.
Its just so frustrating when you are powerless because your adc made a bad call or is in a bad day.
At least i think this is one of the reasons that mage "supports" became so popular , they can actually do something alone
Imo support should all be able to deal damage and especially if they invest into it.
Being entirely dependant on other people is not only frustrating when they continously make bad decisions, but also heavily limits variety in builds and playstyle.
Look at Taric for example. A tanky, protective support who links to someone, but you can still play him top or jgl (the latter of which I definitely recommend, very fun and suprisingly effective) because of his high base damage and amazing synergy with certain offensive items (shean, onhit, etc).
Rell just doesn't work at all on her own, she practically only has 2 spells. And her R is not worth using when alone.

As a guy who played Tahm both before and after his rework, I still think it needed to happen. Tahm pre rework was a mess, now he's too strong and needs some major nerfs for top lane but in terms of his long term health.... yeah it needed to happen.

@@chaotixthefox mostly how a usable his old W was in pro play, how his entire kit needed to be balanced around it, how he was able to strongarm top lane even HARDER than now (but also fell off harder due to a lack of a combat ultimate), how his ult was SO good in pro play since it was great for organized rotations etc…. He was a balance nightmare.
Now he should be easier to balance since his most broken ability, devour is an ultimate and thus has a long CD. I say “should” because he STILL HASNT BEEN NERFED

Rell's problem gameplay wise is that her kit involves both heavy CC/Diving and Stat-Shredding. Which I guess Riot wanted to avoid having too much damage on top of stat-shreds on a dedicated tank.

Like Seraphine she doesn't really fit the Lol universe. They could have done something better but no. They went for the simple and chara design that you see every other time on Pinterest. And still he has more interesting ones than her. She's so generic that it's uninteresting. The concept is cool, the execution... They really could have done better.
And Riot's poor excuse about how she's supposed to be a doll but became human. Well, actually, no. It doesn't change the fact that without context you don't know she's a doll by design if they care so much about that in their characters. And that shows the flaws of her chara design. They could have been inspired by the real Victorian outfit but let's go for a simple anime fantasy style dress instead.
Anyway, these days Riot in chara design I don't know what's going on. But it's getting more and more boring. When you see anime getting tired, it's not characters like Gwen that will make you appreciate them again, especially when it's not in line with the Lol universe. In a manga or anime she would be perfect. In lol she's just boring.
I'm just saying that. You have every right to like her. But I really think they could have done better.

As a kench support main I was interested to see what kind of criticism you had towards his mini rework and you are absolutely damn right about his rework. It ruined a perfectly fine champion beyond recognition and just made him anouther unga bunga toplaner. Its sad.
I think most older kench mains can agree that we all want the old kench back. I guess we can all be happy he didn't get the aatrox treatment.

They are all extremely stupid nerfs that pushed down a champion who was already as low as they could go. In my opinion I think this rework could've been skipped if they did not make those nerfs.

When rell was released, I didn’t even notice for 2 months when my friend pointed her out. “Hey when did they make this character?”. “Who?”
Gwen was my favorite champ this year followed by vex. I'm a sucker for champs with blue as the main color scheme (Ryze being my favorite champ) I see your points with design but to me it made sense. From what I remember isdole made her cute so that's not a problem for me. But some more doll imagery could have probably sold her design a bit more to others. Her gameplay is some of the most fun I've had since Pyke came out but the only thing holding her back is that she's AP and there are like no AP bruiser items. Anyway, those were my thoughts. as someone who hates tanks in league i have to say. Rell will always be a true tank for me. she doesn't deal dmg yet has AOE stuns to help her team. normal tanks just oneshot everything that tries to fight them but Rell will be a true tank for me.

Old Swain and Old Nunu. God the nostalgia is hitting strong. I relish the memories of when top lane was an absolute shit lane and I got to diamond by being the only nutcase that actually mained top and wasn't just filled into it. Abusing top noobs with cheesy picks like Frozen Mallet Teemo, Rylai Swain, Doran's Ring Nunu/Pantheon spell spam, AP Tristana, AP Runes Shen, and Gunblade assassins was some of the most fun I've ever had in League.
I really like Rell. I wish people could acknowledge her existence sometimes, but that means I can still play her with no risks of being banned or picked lol
She's just so... Balanced. Not even weak. Just not broken as hell, just... Fine.
She's the only thing that keeps me playing league, and I'd like her to get a good skin.

For me Viego is the stand-out of the year.
I mean, Rise of the Sentinels event completely made him into a fucking joke but prior to that? God I love almost everything they did with him.
- Making him young bastard was a great move (or so Im telling myself because the generic atractive person shit that riot just repeats over and over just happens to fit him perfectly)
- He is believable
- He WAS intimidating (prior to event)
- His gameplay was pretty simple except his passive that is just so fucking fun to use (Im glad they nerfed the healing on it and his Q on lane.... it made him into a stat check, now he is alot less of such)
With this Viego I dont even have much things I'd improve about him. Maybe some Royality elements in his outfit except the ghost crown... and he makes for exciting release.. sad they fucked him up so badly during the event :C

I like viego, he is esentially master yi with actual crowd control for ganks, he looks cooler, and im building kraken on him always so i dont feel like an asshole. He is the champ that got me into jungling this year, alongside vi and volibear. Love him or hate him, he feels good to play.
Viego is like a thing u hate so much that you literally cant stop playing him, being a paper, a scumbag playstyle, a pathetic simp, but we still play him because his kit is so satisfying to play

In defense of Viego, isn’t having a high skill ceiling and a low skill floor… good champion design? Isn’t that what you, as a developer, strive for? Something that even new players can sink their teeth into but, in order to actually go places as they face more skilled opponents, they have to themselves get better. Yeah I get that it can feel unfair when an enemy champion is easier to play than yours, but not every champion should be Uber hard requiring ten years of experience to even be close to learning them. I’m not saying viego’s perfect though, I do agree that his survivability is bullshit because of his passive and his build path.
Having a high skill ceiling and a low skill floor is good game design for games themselves but I don't think it's as good when applied to characters within video games (especially competitive once), because having a high skill ceiling usually means having more outplay potential and combining that with lower skill floor means easier and quicker access to those mechanics which makes character completely broken.
Regardless there are good example for high skill ceiling and low skill floor champions like: Yasuo?!, Ezreal, Viktor?!, Bard, S10 Irelia, Lee, Zed?!, and Shen?! (they aren't really crystal clear) your average player can utilize their kit to some degree but can't be nearly as much dangerous as a master, and bad examples would be : Akali, current Irelia, Katarina?, Yone, and Samira, your average player can move the enemy team from desktop to the trash bin a bit slower and less cleaner than a master.
But that's just my humble opinion.
The problem is... Yes, ideally a character should have a low skill floor so new players want to try it out and a high skill ceiling to reward players who dedicated their time to that character. But that only works in isolation. When you have over 150 champions that are supposed to interact with each other and be somewhat balanced compared to one another, except some of them were released over 10 years ago with outdated kits compared to modern standards... You can't apply that principle, because you end up creating champions that seem blatantly unfair compared to the rest.
Let's imagine that Lux is a low skill floor low ceiling champion, Akali a high skill floor high ceiling champion, and Viego a low skill floor high ceiling champion.
Objectively, which one feels the most rewarding to play? It's gonna be Viego.
Sadly, champions aren't born equal to one another in League and since balance must be maintained... You can't have a low skill floor high ceiling champion in League, that just makes him extremely overpowered and unfun to fight.
What surprises me most about Akshan is how Riot hasn't removed half his passive effects yet. I know he's sneaky, but to think he can keep sneaking past Riot's balance team that much is surprising.
I actually loved the Kench rework, I hated him before his rework, and now he feels way more fun to play. By the way, the dive is still possible, you still can ult and W, no problem.

As a tahm kench support main i love the rework, the w is sooo much more fun than the old ult. But i wish they lowered his damage and highly lowered hos ult cooldown by at least 20 seconds and he would be perfect. Maybe make the cooldown much lower but weaker shield
I think it's funny how they wanted to make Tahm just a support with the mini rework but they ended up consolidating him as a solo laner because they took away everything that made him a support. What are you going to do as a support now? Eat your ally once every 2 minutes? Knock enemies up with your W? Possible, but not the best option for a support.
As a Tahm Kench top main I'm ok with the mini rework, it took a bit of time getting used to it, but now he's a strong pick. If I were a support main though... I would be pretty sad because he lost most of his strength there.
So I encourage anyone who is interested in the champ to try him top. Don't let the slow W put you away, the trick to land it is slowing the enemy first with Q or casting it while you aren't seen. Also, you can just use it to reposition. The Q healing is my favourite part of the rework very useful to stay alive.

Gwen's scissors are really unique so that's why I use her.
The problem is they’re so unique that Gwen has no skins that makes sense with them, I don’t remember goody sci-fi disco or maid cafes having scissors in them…

Gwen is such an interesting character. I love that they gave us a new AP bruiser since it has been ages since the last one, I love her thematic of being a living doll, I LOVE her giant scisors because they are so cool! Issue is... she just kind of feels out of place. She was introduced so poorly in the game as well. She should have had the same doll texture on her skin and such, the whole stitching to flesh is just not it for me.

I loved Rell when she came out, and I wanted to main her when she came out too. Then I saw that she did no damage... and her gameplay was very weird when compared to other tank supports... and that she was a tank support. I understand that we didn't get any new support options recently, but I think it would have been much better to place her as a top laner, since she does act like a loner in her lore, and voice lines. Plus I think they took the damage she was supposed to get and moved it to the other champs in this season, lets be honest.
I just really want her to get a rework so she could at the very least flex to top
The only reason in the lore imo that would make her a support is that eventually I think she would need to trust allies to succeed in taking down the Noxians.
I mean she is only 16 after all with trauma.
So having her as a supp isn't as bad, but to not make he be able to go about it alone as well is quite disheartening since she's suppose to take down Mordekaiser who is a Top laner.

I think the biggest reason for the Tahm Kench changes are because be was known for trolling teammates more than for just being a normal support. Changing the devour so it's his ultimate makes it harder for people to pick it as a troll pick

8:10 this is the reason I can't look at any sort of Riot concept art anymore. That vs what we get is so astronomically worse it's insane. Just to see that the art team is fully capable and willing to make something as breathtaking as they have and for it to be replaced with hot anime babe #∞ is as hilarious as it is tragic.

Tham Kench being S tier for half a year and still dominating
TP nerfs (I still believe it will be for midlane casters b3ing broken and using it and not because they remember toplane existed)
Heck I even started playing even more aram and Jungle (wich frustrates me a lot) because i want to avoid toplane, its so sad just remove the lane alredy I miss S10 toplane, it was a lot less toxic than what it is now.

Your issues with Gwen is likely due to not knowing her lore, if her lore was designed first( which would make sense since they probably were designing the storyline of the ruined king before making the finalized character designs) then it should be excused since her lore states that Gwen is Isoldes idea of a high class aristocrat but since she is a peasant she sees the aristocrats as great, kind, jolly people so that’s why when her soul goes to Gwen she becomes an anime girl and not some monstrous doll, otherwise if her design came first then I agree.(this could be some bias from me tho I do have 230k points on her already and by far my most played champ period)

Honestly i feel the opposite with tahm but that's because I genuinely love everything about tahm to the point where I can look past the disappointment and legit I did like playing him more top then support since the mini changes before they reworked him since he unfortunately became a prostaple which meant my favorite champion got nerfed so hard that he wasn't worth playing when I had to become a a pro player trapped in gold just to make the champion work as well as he did before
Like you mentioned, at LEAST akshan can be blown up when caught, but viego just destroys you if you cross paths, unfortunate timing or not.
I don't even think genshin could make an uninspired and generic character as much as gwen, as a genshin player myself, I can confidently say that all their characters have distinct designs, personalities (that are more complex) and cultural details, whereas Gwen is just some blue haired girl in a Victorian dress, I don't think mihoyo would release a character as generic as gwen, ever XD
