Last stands are one of my favourite moments in anything.
Nothing makes me happier than a protagonist, with nothing left to lose and greatly outnumbered, giving it their all one more time. War films and games do it fairly often.
Saving Private Ryan and CoD WW2 in particular being some of my favourited.

That's the thing about heroes. The ones who make the untimate sacrifice, the ones who die so others may live, they never get to see if their stand was worth it. They just have to hope, which makes the sacrifices made in that name, hope, all the more chilling and meaningful.
