The 2.5 km long Breitachklamm has a depth of up to 150 meters, making it the deepest rocky gorge in Central Europe.
It was formed around 10,000 - 15,000 years ago and runs from Kleinwalsertal in Austria to Oberstdorf in the Allgäu.
Visitors have been able to walk through the gorge via footbridges and bridges since 1905. Flood waves have repeatedly devastated the Breitachklamm gorge.
