This may sound real stupid and random but is it ok to wear a protective cover similar to what they wear in cricket to protect your privates in case of thumping the bar on them ? I know that should never be a thing with good technique but I'd feel a lot more relaxed knowing my cajones are protected.
how on earth are you hitting your balls while lifting? i would probably recommend a wider stance if that’s the case, i imagine you are going too narrow.
Super interesting, so i had a knee injury a few years ago that required surgery. Funnily enough my knee surgeon at the time referenced that Leinster Academy study when he was telling me about my return to training protocol. Essentially the advice was don't squat below parallel with maximal loads every again and use a box. What do you reckon is the difference in weight you can lift between a box squat to parallel vs a HB ATG squat? I'm currently up to 240kg for sets of two on the box at 78kg BW, but i haven't tried pushing beyond 180kg for a HB in the recent months which actually felt breezy enough.
What do you think about box Squats for Weightlifting? I see it pop up in programming from time to time
meh it's okay, can be a thing to do sometimes
Playing tight 5, the higher squat just made things feel better
For general strength trainees doing HB, ATG squats, would you worry too much about butt wink to the point where you’d cut depth?
If you’re worried about butt wink buy some heeled lifters or just raise your heels on a slant board etc until you’ve gained the mobility
@@HM-qe9pd That’s what I thought of doing. I can hit depth on front squat but not high bar
alexander bromley has a heap of videos on butt wink that you'll find useful
if it was particular aggressive butt wink then we would be while you're addressing the cause

@@matthewmckee6289 well im not but I'm scared of hitting them
Are Pin Squats useful/effective in a squat program if you are aiming to squat as much weight as possible ATG/maximum depth?

Louie from Westside states that you can lift 15% more with a box
In comparison to a low bar competition squat though….
The difference can be huge, up to 100kg for some people depending on a few difference factors
a video discussing all the topics you disagree on could be fun
The thought of Juji as a rugby player truly put a smile on my face!
Great video too of course!
Juji did give rugby a try in some episode of his. Tackling, scrumming, etc.
@@luobomu9747 juji has pretty much done it all at this point haha
