Coming back to this song after 8 years I finally get all the references he was talking about. When I was 12 I didn't understand what he was saying honestly. Dope song with a deep message.
@Brendan Warren all his comments in that interview were spot on and im glad he was able to be honest and speak the truth on how he truly feels. Alot of African Americans are scared of what others will say or think of them if they are honest about how they feel. The only reason racism 'exists' or is an issue in the world right now is because everyone keeps talking about it. Lets be honest, there will always be those few people that are just plain ignorant and have no place in society; the white guy that hates every person that isnt white or the black guy that hates everyone that isnt black etc. But like i said America doesnt have a racism problem like we did decades ago. Its an issue because politicians want it to be a problem so they can therefore control the people more easily and use us as their puppets. And unfortunately its working. Quit talking about it and dont let the elites continue brainwashing you into their agenda. Then magically the problem doesnt exist anymore! Whalah

This song always makes me tear up. Then, I start thinking of my childhood best friend that was killed in a drive-by a few hours after I went in the house. I use to think that what if I was there when it happened would I had died too. But me being me I never tell anyone any of this I just keep it in. Hell, I don't know why I'm posting it to YT when probably no one cares but I guess it's go to get off my chest to a bunch of strangers.
Keep your head up. Your friend always has your back. And these strangers like me, have our own stories too, so feel free to share yours. You gotta get some off your chest anyway.
two years ago a close friend of mine came to my house to get my car borrowed, hour later he was gunned down in his house where I was suppose to get my car back, I guess it was not my time, God knows lifes goes on....
"Grindin' with my eyes wide' looking to find a way through the day" One of my favorite lines in rap history. I searched this out just to hear the message today!
And Im grindin til Im tired They say "You aint grindin til you tired" So Im grindin with my eyes wide Looking to find A way Through the day A light For the night Dear Lord, youve done took so many of my people but Im just wonderin why You haven't taken my life Like what the hell, am I doing right? If You Can't Feel That, Then You Haven't Lost Someone Close.
I'm a huge fan of past songs... This song really made me remember friends that had gone most especially my dad who couldn't see me becoming a man. I miss him...rip dad
I feel that I was taken from my dad 10 years ago, was finally gonna see him this year but unfortunately he passed on April 15 2022 😢 so he never got to see the man I became, hope he’d be proud of me…
Right there with brother. I lost my dad when I turned 10 to lung cancer. You just got to be the best version of you and know that he’s watching you from up above.
And I'm grindin' til I'm attacked They say "You ain't grindin' til you tired" So I'm grindin' with my eyes wide Looking to find, a way through the day A light, for the night Dear Lord, you've done took so many of my people but I'm just wonderin' why You haven't taken my life? Like what the hell am I doing right? My Life :( Hit's diffrent
It says that we will be a beacon to Future worlds of God's mercy that's why that's what Grace is we don't deserve it none of us do there was only one who deserved it and he died for us his name was Jesus Christ of Nazareth. God bless you
Listening it as a 30 year old who grew up in the hood and made it out of it, with three college degrees and a clean track record whilst having the misfortune of losing eight childhood friends & acquaintances who died from various reasons (the most recent which occurred last week) hits different than back then. Seeing people I grew up doing bad decisions, killing others, themselves (I almost did myself twice) or going to jail for drug issues made me choose otherwise. I guess, watching my older brother going back & forth to jail when I was a teen gave me no choice but to escape the hood. And now I'm restraining myself from sobbing.
@@moisemensah8233 I felt this for real! I have a similar story and all that I can say is thank God that he watched over me when I was not so wise, and thank him for letting me make it out!! 🙏🏽
i really like this song, The way it talks about struggles that all of us go though, not everyone talks about them so openly but songs like these are good to listen to when you need an ear to listen but no one will. Music has always been my outlet all though I don't listen to rap often this is one of the best I have herd in a long while!!
It doesn't matter if you're black or white, if you had a dad that chose his lifetsyle over staying with his kid you understand this song! Life will try to confuse you, tell the devil he must leave and you'll be able to resist and he'll leave you alone, he has to obey God. Keep grinding, you're worth it and remember you weren't the reason they left. Take up your true identity, the identity of a champion. With love from South African blood.
“Dear lord you have taken so many of my people, I’m just wondering why... you haven’t taken my life.. like what the hell am I doing right?” - lil wayne
+artardFTW that's because you ain't looking in the right place. there was garbage music In the 90s, and early thousands .there's always been garbage music, stop living in the damn past. that's your problem, so calm your nostalgic ass down.
If this garbage honestly is viewed as being "deep", then I can only imagine the depth of your intelligence. This is nothing short of retarded sappy rap shit. Guess what happens when you "choose" to live a life of crime and glorify the ignorant lifestyle of gangsters, you end up in hell or prison. There is nothing cool, hard, or glamorous about being murdered over stupid shit or going to prison because you refuse to just get a goddamn job and dress and act like abnormal respectable human.
Christopher Cunningham I appreciate what you say but for the man on the roof top to chastise a man on the basement for glimpsing for the first time the steps up isn't fair unless the man on the roof found the journey to the roof was to dangerous for that man .some of us keep walking and looking for those steps as a atonement for this world or a glorious tribute of faith to the Lord's spirit that does abide.
I remembred when I get bullied .... I came home cried and was listening to this song... This song helped me much , ( and Eminem, PAC) Now it's over . I got a new life , new friends. And I'm sill listening to this song
Damn The Game murdered this track in a good way, R.I.P to the game father, I am close to my dad as well I know it's a stigma in the black community that fathers are not their for their children, but for the ones that are it's a great thing, because that's the first leader of a young man's life a father figure, it's so many children and adults male and female on earth lacking one. Everyone stayed prayed up and saved up because we all are living on borrowed time.
Tafari Boozer Regards to this classic song, my hometown Detroit is facing the same thing with killings and violence because we need to pray for the struggles that my 🌃 be facing over the years in the past! I'm afraid 😳 that my life might get taken away but I'm still alive now. We need to ✋ this from happening to anyone else and btw it breaks my ❤️ what we as Americans and African Americans face today! My message: Take care of each other and never let bad things ruin our days until we die?
Used to love this, came back after not hearing it for years.. Brought a tear to my eye man. Growing up in the hood is hard. This is actually a really emotional song.

This song keeps getting more real as the years pass, this will never get old
I'm 35 years old and came back thinking the same thing. crazy how time flies
Yeah, time does fly really fast. I enjoy my life that I worked for, but looking back atm gosh I've lost alot of family n friends in these past few years. Which brought back to this song... The joys, events, and happy moments that was in my youth had now been going to their funerals. Lol oh well it's a part of life... Stay safe n may your endeavors bring you glory.
Classic
I like it fr Wizy..bt The Game is game
@@NoloCreates yep its been 14 years, but feels like a lifetime ago, like a different person lived in that time in 2008 in a different world with different friends and family and environment. A lot has changed. Sadly, some bad things havent changed, like drug abuse, gun violence, war, suicide rates.

Well this is just one video..If we are including all the other videos for this song,it would be over 1 bill views. 😊
If you still listening to this now, you just don't know how great you are

Well you win . When I get hooked on a song I have it on repeat for a week straight then get tired of it for the next few years 😂
True, this album is a classic. For me it might be Game's best album.
Me to best song
The lyrics so real, and the beat real hip hop 🔥🔥💯💯
The pioneers of hip hop. U niggas were the greatest in ur prime. Miss this music.
Still wondering why the Lord hasn't taken your life in 2024 right?
This song has a lot of meaning and has a dope auto-tune on Wayne's voice. And the beat is on point! Nice job Jayceon
This is the voice Young Thug "stole" from Wayne
Wayne isn't a real rapper, and he started the shitty autotune, it ruined his voice, but here it was better than in other songs
Robo_Destroyer / Darth Troller wayne isnt a real rapper? wat r u like 12 years old. just stop the 🐂💩
king bean I'm 12 and Wayne is my favorite rapper
+Robo_Destroyer / Darth Troller Off yourself.
Nobody likes this song more than me. A timeless and underrated work of art. Lil wayne's chorus is so deep and The Game's verses are so touching.

I like this song more than all y’all
This song always makes me tear up.
God's good and I'm sure better days have come RIP to your friend.
U sd hear better days...
Sorry to hear that shit bruh but ur friend he's resting up in heaven waiting to see his homie again
This song saved my life today. I love black people❤
This song still hit hard it’s almost 2024 !! Real music never dies !!
"Grindin' with my eyes wide' looking to find a way through the day"
One of my favorite lines in rap history. I searched this out just to hear the message today!
And Im grindin til Im tired
They say "You aint grindin til you tired"
So Im grindin with my eyes wide
Looking to find
A way
Through the day
A light
For the night
Dear Lord, youve done took so many of my people but Im just wonderin why

People get real. Stop asking if anyone is still listening. This is real music ofcourse we are.

< I LOVE YOU! -LORD
back when hip hop still had some dignity.
+artardFTW what you mean dogg?
new hip hop is overrated garbage. I remember when music was about stuff that mattered
+artardFTW that's because you ain't looking in the right place. there was garbage music In the 90s, and early thousands .there's always been garbage music, stop living in the damn past. that's your problem, so calm your nostalgic ass down.
Good Pill took the words out of my mouth... loll
you right slaughterhouse is the only semi decent hip hop group/artists today
To me the game is a very underrated rapper.
this song is deep af
If this garbage honestly is viewed as being "deep", then I can only imagine the depth of your intelligence. This is nothing short of retarded sappy rap shit. Guess what happens when you "choose" to live a life of crime and glorify the ignorant lifestyle of gangsters, you end up in hell or prison. There is nothing cool, hard, or glamorous about being murdered over stupid shit or going to prison because you refuse to just get a goddamn job and dress and act like abnormal respectable human.
mason dude not deep
future
Christopher Cunningham I appreciate what you say but for the man on the roof top to chastise a man on the basement for glimpsing for the first time the steps up isn't fair unless the man on the roof found the journey to the roof was to dangerous for that man .some of us keep walking and looking for those steps as a atonement for this world or a glorious tribute of faith to the Lord's spirit that does abide.
6 months to go to 2020 and i'm still on this classic song. GOD BLESS US ALL!!!!
WORLDS BEST VIDEOS ✊🏼✊🏼✊🏼✊🏼

Giossi Andrin so sorry... proud and happy for u
I’m here July 2024 yall still rocking with Weezy and Game. 😢
I just saw him live a couple of days ago and he gave a speech about his dad but he wanted to continue his European Tour either way.
'but its real n***az like me that make the hood"
Ur a good guy!
