Your renovation is going so well, it gave me the motivation to finish painting my kitchen cupboards and we are just adding new knobs to the doors. The first video I watched was your dining room and since then I've binge watched all of your videos. Love your house! I bought a smoker's house and it's the worst- in bathrooms I've found the steam activates nicotine and bleeds through the paint if not sealed. My current house has a powder room on the first floor the previous owners allowed their cat to use as a litter box. Where I learned that sealing can also trap odors and I am just wondering if you used some sort of clear sealant to create a barrier before adding the panels? As I continued to watch, it makes sense the odor was more in the floor.
That whole wing with the bathroom and red room would be lovely turned into a master suite! With a bit of rearranging you'd be able to fit a bedroom, ensuite and good sized wardrobe space. Then you could leave the current master as is and still get your ensuite.

Have you thought of splitting up the bathroom transformation/reveal video into multiple parts? I'm sure I'm not the only one who would love watching longer reno videos. Nonetheless, I'm very excited to see the full bathroom transformation!

Laura! Have you tried scoring the paper and soaking with a solution of warm water and washing up liquad leave for 10 mins and try using the steamer again. This sometimes helps xxx ( For next time😁).And... Huzzah to 40 k , Yippeeee!🥳🌷🌼🌞👍🏽

try beadboard panels. it will go over it - it has a vintage feel and you can always go back to it later.

I had that wallpaper scraper still do but blade broken so I baught a (harris wallpaper scraper) from the range the replacement blades are inside the handle its black and orange tip on the handle tip. It walls £4.99 rather than £1 but my god its like butter gliding threw the paper that the old one seems like using a screwdriver.lol get yourself one your life will go faster I was spending hours too with that same one.lol

Hi Laura, could you used a sander to get that wallpaper off? Ok watched a bit more video, you've decided to panel it, sometimes the easiest way is the least annoying.
Did you consider using Kilz Primer, a US product, available on Amazon.com UK?
Please be sure to wear appropriate footwear when working in your garden. I cringed to see you cleaning out rusty wire, metal, and debris in backless sandals. 😬

@@LauraMelhuishSprague look for a filter in your editor called Denoise. It should help.
I would have sandpapered the WC walls. Or replaced the plasterboard. No way would I bury a smelly was.
I would have to scrape every scrap of plaster off and hose it down

Get beedboard and cover the walls. Not to expensive.

A in a bathroom collage is definitely not my style and may/may not be adding to the smell! I know it will be beautiful when you are done.
You do realise that hiding it will not get rid of the smell. (If it was the walls smelling). The smell loss will be temporary. Hoping I’m wrong and hoping it was the floor you got rid of that smelled.
