David Oistrach one of greatest violinist of all time. Thanks so much dear friend for this most beautiful video. Also, I want to thank my very good friend from Australia John Underwood for sending me this magnificent music.
You know, as a young child I somehow fell in love with Kabalevsky and he became my absent mentor. As time past I become familiar with another great composer: Katchaturian, now by listening to this most beautiful video played by my most favourite violinist David Oistrach, they are all together, it seems a dream come true. Thanks so much dear friend. I am grateful to you.
a superb performance from a quite often often overlooked violin master, easily Rabin's equal..excellent sound and graphics. thank you for the services you render the music lovers here in cyberspace.bless you and your's this holiday season!
(2) I watched the beginning of the video and I am truly overwhelm by him. He said “It is no use practicing too much. First you have to find out how to do it best, to be able to invent ways to do better..” Vey very impressive! I will continue watching all his videos asap. I will also would follow your kind advice to do some research about Julian Sitkovetsky. I am sincerely touched by your very thoughtful and considerate comment. Please accept my gratitude!
My recording of this work is: David Oistrakh with the USSR State Orchestra in 1940 with Alexander Gauk conducting. It is a wonderful recording. I also really like this recording also. When was this recording made I wonder. Oistrakh had such a lovely sound with amazing technique.People say he was a lovely humble man.
Dear friend, (1)You must have a very profound understanding of life and music. Do true artists need mentors? What you said had never crossed my mind before. It made me think very hard. Yes, creativity in art is like bubbling spring on the side mountain that is self contained and independent, while a dry well that can not produce any water, can never be a spring no matter how much water we put there. Thanks so much to introducing me to Nathan Milstein.
I have Oistrakh's live recording of the performance of the Katchaturian in 1940. Is this the same recording or a later one I wonder. His playing was so warm and polished. I so much love his playing. I heard him live with the late Rostropovitch in London around 1968- 70. They were both fabulous !!
