- A Cheng is a kind-hearted debt collector who meets the debt-ridden Hao Ting. I just watched this movie thinking it would be one with a happy ending. However, I never thought a movie would make me cry like this one did.

I couldn’t breathe at the end. It was too heartbreaking but all the moments they had together and the character development and overall how the male lead was portrayed was so precious. The cinematography, the storyline, literally everything about this movie was so delicate and beautiful. Tiffany Hsu acting and appearance was flawless!! she’s so beautiful. It’s worth watching for the “kilig” moments but make sure you’ve got something around to wipe your tears with!!

The male lead conveyed so much pain and vulnerability with just his eyes. I had the mad feels watching this film .
His acting in "Dear ex" is also really good.
I had to hold back my tears but seeing the brother break down was my breaking point. This movie gets you thinking about what would happen if you lost someone like that. I give this movie a 12/10 it's very precious and is the best. Although I cried my eyes out and yelled at my mom for even recommending this kind of movie because it makes me sad, I loved every part of it.

remember the lady that 'owned' him? well, the whole part of the deal was that if he did all of the dirty work she'd support his brother's barbershop. after she blackmailed him and sent him to jail just because he no longer wanted to work for her, she had no reason to support his brother's business. as expected, the business went downhill and you know he started to get sick, etc. he bought his brother a barber pole as a reminder of him and the business I guess? and every time he got a haircut or pass the shop he'd always hit the barber pole.

I completely agreed but my breaking point just happened to be earlier than that scene. I have watched many sad/love movies but none of them tops the Bus station scene in this movie 🥺
The last 20 minutes is just all too sad for me. Bus station scene, shaving scene, reading comic at the hospital roof scene, dying scene, his brother breaking down scene & lastly his girlfriend staring out the bus window scene 😭
I cried as the ending was bittersweet. But it ended well in real life as Tiffany & Roy are married! Reel love turned real love.

The lead actor in the film is also the lead actor of the other Taiwanese film “Dear ex” which I highly recommend to everyone who hasn’t watch it.

Oh my gosh! Dear Ex was amazing! I cried for a week! Lol! I absolutely enjoyed the actor! When is saw he was in this movie as well i had to see it! And like everyone else i wasn't expecting that ending lol! He had me crying for a week! AGAIN!!!

this movie had me crying my eyes and nose out man. Seriously it was so good. I watched it right after I watched the trailer and boy that was the best decision of the night. I had a good cry, eyes red, nose feeling cleared everything....feeling depressed but happy that I watched such an amazing movie. The character development as well as the male lead's master portrayal of that character was just on point. Just watch the movie... my eyes are still sore😩

I read the synopsis in Wiki & thought "damn, not another tear-jerker, korean movie wannabe again" but wow the movie surprised me in sooo many ways.
It has that weirdly aesthetic 90s vibes, the main actors are sooo convincing in their character delivery and their chemistry is very charming.
Unlike the Korean one, the sad & crying scene is simple, not too overdone & hits you at the right spot, which is very satisfying to me. My eyes were all watery in the last 20 minutes 🥺

I just finished watching it, and can I just say how much I love Roy Chiu's acting. His eyes convey so many emotions, and I am in tears again just thinking about the scene /SPOILER/ where he finally came back after serving jail time only for people around him to treat him like trash. I don't really fancy movies with sad endings especially romance ones and I really didn't think I would cry, but I did. Definitely, a 5/5 in terms of tearjerker movie but the plot could have been slightly better tbh.
I loved the main actors. The hero n heroine were so focused on having a decent life by earning money in a short time that the failure made them drifted apart . Only to realize later that being together meant more than earning money desperately. I cant forget the eyes of the male lead in the last scenes, so much filled with love while looking at the love of his life. I didnt cry at all but it made me sad that all of us have to go through much. Wish everyone a meaningful life.!
I just watched it and what a movie! The storyline, the way it’s been shot. It was so beautiful and Roy Chiu played his character so well. The end broke my heart, the regrets, the love it was oozing trough the screen and I cried my eyes out. Definitely thumbs up for this movie.
I cried like a little bitch; the part where he tells his dad that he met woman whose a good daughter and had lost her father so he has to be her father, his funeral where the father from the temple brings his Son who he gave money to buy supplements and the brother receiving the hair dresser lamp.

I don't care who done it first..taiwan or korea...all I care bout is who did it the best! And this version is a masterpiece ❤💯
The Original Korean one is much better
Just watched both versions and I like Taiwanese version more, the chemistry and sections feels more well placed.

i haven't seen this one, but the Korean version was so good, that's why i clicked on this trailer, i will surely check this out, you all should also check out the Korean version, Hwang Jung min's acting never disappoints

This movie definitely living on its reputation as it’s been on topped chart for three weeks in Taiwanese cinema and hits box offices. I stumbled upon this movie while I google-ing a movie to watch and seriously wasn’t expect it to amazed me like this. Fyi, this movie wasn’t a typical romantic drama between the rich son of ceo and the poor girl. It’s just an ordinary couple who in fact still trying to find the meaning of life and struggling to survive. This is the first time I watch movie and wanting the ending to be completely different than it was. Fgs, I wanted him to be happy because God he deserved it 😭💔
Please watched this one if you haven’t yet. Trust me. You will experience so much emotions through this movie and I hope this movie will receives many awards because its uniqueness and everything else is so perfectly written and portrayed. Thank you for the great movie tho. Highly recommended to watch; 10/10 😭😭

I watched it and it broke me to my core. It touches every relationship from his love, to his father and brother. I usually cry to only one scene in any sad movies. But this, it made me cry a ton to different scenes. It is truly a masterpiece. Highly recommend!

To say this movie is a masterpiece is an understatement, it’s beyond it. The cinematography, the soundtrack, the acting, the storyline; it was all perfect. This movie deserves more recognition and awards!! The early part when acheng was courting the lady made me had butterflies, his love was so,deep even until the very end, not to just the girl but to his family and the community! All i can say is this is definitely a gem and one of my favourites now ❤️❤️❤️

I watch this cause i thought the premise of romance between a debt collector and an ordinary woman was interesting, but almighty, I've never been this way since I watched uncontrollably fond yearsss ago. This was very well produced. Tremendous acting and character development. Definitely a show to remember.
Great movie. It me in tears towards the end, I thought it had a happier ending. But I'm glad that he did get to spend his last moments happy.

My god i just have googled this movie after watching it and now I know why this movie captivate me soo much even though the plot and acting cinematography all were perfect but the main actor was the one.. I have seen his dear ex also 6 months back and that was also fantastic and he is indeed a very good actor.. Charming... Also want to appreciate the taiwanese industry.. They really produce fantastic movies with brilliant actors....

I thought this one would be a cool breezy dramedy but man the ending just makes you feel so heavy that each frame moves you.. the slow burn romance was top notch, one of the best watches in recent time
Hats off to the leading actors..I went through an emotional rollercoaster. The Male actor was astounding in his performance..what a great job..really flawless. He might look quite rugged at times really brutal, even animalistic but he has a kind heart and is passionate when it comes to love. He even looked sexy🤩 The leading actress was amazingly great.. Her character as being introvert and then slowly moving out from her shell..that was really good. I was utterly shocked by the ending..I was completely heart broken💔💔 I cried a river seeing that the end was near..for him ..I salute the work of the whole cast the director, the writer and those behind the soundtrack..My point of view, Hollywood movies cannot meet up to that level..I mean being so realistic in a performance.. I hope to see these two leading actors in other roles, in other movies..🥰🥰🥰🥰

This movie is a remake of 2014 S.Korea film with the same title..starting Hwang Jung Min and Han Hye Jin as the lead actors..such a heartwarming and heartbreaking movie..

The last part of this movie is so 💔💔💔. When he was talking to his father about his said "daughter-in-law", how he asked his fatjer to become his girlfriend's dad, how he cried at the end saying he's useless, tho he did everything for his familu especially for his brother. And lastly, the part where his brother break down because of that unexpected package ....I couldn't hold my tears anymore!!!! This is one of the nicest movie I've seen. Too bad it has a sad ending😭

Spoiler free review here. I just finished watching this movie and I really am speechless. The acting, the directing, even the cinematography moved me. It's not usual for me to get trapped inside a movie while watching it but this one really did so. I wasn't even just crying at the end I was literally BAWLING my eyes out with one hand on my mouth. After reading the title I know you'd think it's about a man loving some woman with all of his heart but the story does not just portrays that. It's about man's love towards everyone around him. The actors really did justice to the story. 10/10 DESERVE.

The last two nights I watched 2 taiwanese films with sad endings and cried myself to sleep each night. I just watched this movie and tbh it was so sad. Why did he have to get sick? Why did he have to gamble all their money? The boss lady was already letting him go. Even though they would be poor, at least they’d be together. He could’ve gotten a regular job, thats at least better than gambling their money away, breaking up with the woman you love and then get yourself in prison???????
isn't it the korean remake of the movie "man in love" 2013 ? that was also awesome to watch with stellar performance by the lead actor Hwang Jung Min...Must watch for his hilarious and antic performance and cute crude expressions of dating...the actress complimented him perfectly well in that movie
The gambling he saw how expensive the rent was for a beverage store and wanted to be able to do that for her(not justifying that is was the right thing to do but explaining I guess directors perspective), he left her because like the part he explains to his dad towards the end he was useless and she was a good person and he didn't want to burden her.
The part in the bowling alley when starts singing and dancing got me. It was so sweet and funny

A really hilarious bit was when the fur elise (iconic garbage truck tune that every taiwanese person knows lmao) started playing outside and roy chiu was like "your ride is here" LMAO XDDDD
