Well it's the hunting season and I had the same problem in Pennsylvania all the poachers start piling in at this time of the year so he might've expected that you were looking to hunt not fish

this was shot a couple weeks prior to hunting season, some land owners are just buttheads about everything hahaha
I would have expected more snags in water that shallow.
