I think I have a good example of trading back for a future first with a current first like you talked about.
I’m in an 8 team league. (I know, small, get over it)
I won the championship and sent
Justin fields, the 1.08, and a 25 2nd
for
Tlaw + a 25 1st
Keep in mind I did this back in January when fields was “definitely going to be a starter somewhere” and Tlaw was at a low coming out of a disappointing season having just missed the playoffs. (Fields and Tlaw were QB15 and QB12 on KTC at the time)
Timing matters, and I had to give up drafting someone in the 1st round this year, but I love the long term value I got back.
