In terms of time & money, certainly the Han temple, the Han village of old & infirm Han people being financially taken care of (on-going) for all their needs, & the all-pervasive gatdens & grounds strictly for Rong's use, the lavish indoor & outdoor fountains, the endless gifting of gold & jewels, etc., furs, fabrics, with Rong always offered the first choice before his Empress...And bear in mind that he had done all this for Rong on the FC grounds where she would have total privacy, so much so that none of the Harem (including Rong) had any idea that any of this was building was happening while all was being completed. .He had to have had an army of people working 7 days per week 'round the clock! Even so, I'm thinking almost 3 yrs.....
Let me, please, say that as astute as Ruyi & crew are at their investigations, TELL ME: Why did no one ever pursue the astrologist who assigned to Ruyi the "true" guilt of her son being murdered inside her womb? Is this not the same astrologist who followed on the heels of Ling to find the Royal couple enjoying tea together outdoors? There was a payoff, absolutely...so seizing this man's bank account & books should have been done. Had the Emperor been willing to consider his wife's wisdom, this would most certainly have been done. Apparently, though, this group of star-gazers were given a 'god-like' status by some of the Ruler's of China...Still, there must have been some way if 'money talks;' it talked for Ling, didn't it?
Also, why did Ling arrange to have the astrologer's findings/report repeated in her presence? Because she would have had to have heard the report in order to slyly keep insinuating & supporting the hole the astrologist dug under Ruyi's feet, causing Ruyi's mentally & emotionally FAITHLESS husband to abandon his wife. When did he 'ever' truly have her back?

Who would dare rat-out the ED, & Rong, the King's beloved?
It's to bring peace to the Harem and court. Rong will be known to have chosen the soup so no one holds spite against her but understands her situation. No one, especially the Emperor, can hold it against his Empress because the Dowager Empress stepped in. The Emperor is forced to accept Rong doesn't want a future with him and that his mother stepped in because his poor decisions reflect in the state of his Harem and Court also. Thankfully, this situation only brings everyone to respect and adore Ruyi more. In my opinion, it covers everyone's ass. Or it's just for drama
I follow up with more out of sequence comments: Rong said she & her young lover were memories of her 16 yr. old self. I believe she was 16 still when she was forced to go to FC to belong to Hongli. So, the Emperor would have been in a state of sexual fever 4 her for three years before she was persuaded to live & to then accept his attentions. I realize this is neither here nor there, but the timeline is never specific, so I try to figure out ages...& timing of events as to life in Forbidden City.
