Great video! Welcome to the club! We got the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to roast marshmallows over an active volcano lava field as well. Ours was at the Fagradalsfjall volcano in Iceland last year, though we brought our own marshmallows. People thought we were crazy until we did it, then they all wanted to try too. We gave away the rest of our marshmallows and the long roasting stick since you couldn't get very close. You won't forget that experience!
You are GENIUS! What a trend setter, I dont know if we would have thought about it if it wasn’t part of the hike! That’s amazing, maybe we should bring marshmallows to every active volcano hike from here on 🤣
Saludos.
Congratulations on 1,000 subscribers! You guys at Shark? I hear it’s good, but they are over killed. Why so many perros on the volcano? I want to pet and hug them all!
Thank you Robb!😊 Yeah we did - we actually didn’t realize it was shark until afterwards when our host mom said the word again and I translated it haha Also I know all the pups were loving the natural spa day up on the volcano 💕 they were so cute
@@JourneywithJenandDrew I’ll always remember shark is Tiberon in Spanish because in my middle school Spanish class, our teacher always played a song about it! You should check it out!
Congratulations, I'm glad than you had a wonderful experience there, if you have more lucky in a next time there is a guy cooking pizza in the volcano. Thanks for visit Guatemala and give us love making this videos.
what an awesome experience, I can't wait to experience it myself. I did Acatenango 1 yr ago and it was the most amazing experience I ever had, no words can describe it. Sigan disfrutando de Guatemala!!!!
Good afternoon amigos. Thank you for visiting Guate, that video was awesome, I did enjoy it when you roasted the “angelitos”. I have already subscribed so you have a thousand and one hahahahaha. Blessings and comeback soon, thank you 🙏 amigos.

Very neat trip! Do the pups belong to the tour guide or do they just live on the volcano? Next time you should take graham crackers and Hershey bars so you can make a volcano s’more!
Amazing post. I'm planning to do this hike next month. May I ask what time you got back from Antigua? I'm trying to decided if I should do the morning hike or the afternoon hike. Thanks again and keep posting your travels!
Hi!! How exciting :) we got back around 7:30-8 pm! We loved this timing. If it wasn’t foggy we would’ve seen the sunset! We also felt the 6am time was a bit early for us 😂 but if you are a morning person, it’s probably very lovely too 😊
Great video! How did you get around Guatemala? I’ve had family in Guate drive me around but I’m curious to know how I would be able to get around without having to drive or ask for a ride lol.
OH wow that's super nice :) A lot of the times we either took shuttles (just prebooked vans, for example from Guatemala city to antigua) or ubers. Next time we visit we may try the chicken buses but we were a bit nervous to on our first trip!
Not sure if you mentioned it in the video. How long did it take you guys to go to the top? And what would you recommend to wear on those instances for those of us who don’t do hiking.
If I remember correctly, it took us about 45mins to an hour. It was a fairly easy hike but it had a lot of uphill so we often took breathing breaks. I would recommend wearing shorts or breathable pants, boots or good tennis shoes (they make get a bit dirty depending on if it rained recently) and a light rain jacket

Our country has the highest density of volcanoes in the world, since in such a small territory we have 37 volcanoes, in addition to 287 volcanic sources. The number of volcanoes in Guatemalan lands is difficult to count accurately, since various entities use different methodologies to define whether or not a geological structure can be defined as a volcano. From that account, we can find documents that speak of 32, 34, 36 and even 37 volcanoes. The most internationally known Guatemalan volcanoes are PACAYA, Fuego, Santiaguito and Santa María for the simple fact of being currently or very recently active. The Agua Volcano is also well known for its proximity to the Capital and Antigua and its almost perfect shape, which is why it has been photographed thousands of times by foreign and local tourists. The highest volcanoes are Tajumulco (4,220 masl) and Tacaná (4,092 masl). In Guatemala there are 3 volcanoes that are in permanent activity. These are: Pacaya, Fuego and Santiaguito. In addition, some geologists also consider Santa María an active volcano, although its last activity dates from 1902 and most currently consider it a dormant volcano. 🤜🏼⛰️🤛🏼

Just be mindful that rainy season is about to start in Guatemala,
II guess that's why the clouds are low,
which ain't bad at all.
