      +Shana Curtis Yes! We are native Oregonians! I grew up out in Forest Grove and spent a lot of my teen years in Hillsboro and Beaverton

    Thank you for sharing! I would love to keep seeing these. I budget similarly but I use an app on my phone...I think I may try my hand at using pencil and paper for February. I always go over budget so I think that would help!!

      You're welcome! I have my Feb budget video in the works right now. :) I have found that doing my budget tracking with paper and pen is keeping me even more accountable that when I used an app on my phone. Just something about having to physically writing it down! So far I'm loving it!

    I didn't grow up eating fish/seafood so I struggle with it too. I get skinless boneless canned salmon to make salmon patties. Coscto has a nice brand and the wild planet is nice.

    Great video as always, Nili! One way we get more fish in our diet is canned tuna. My kids love it and will eat it mixed with a little mayo or without on salad. We also make tuna melts and tuna pasta salad. I get the Whole Planet brand at Costco when it fits in the budget- if not the conventional brand. Whole Planet is wild caught and in my opinion tastes better.

      S Hartman Yeah, I bet I could get the kids to like tuna with the right recipes. lol! I'll have to look for the wild planet brand. Thanks!

    Hey! just curious...do you pay with cash or card? Also, do you go to the store seperatly for household things if not how do you seperate them? seperate transactions?

    I love do this budget tracking video. I own a daycare in my home and I find it very hard to separate out the daycare items from the items that I purchased in our normal weekly shopping trips. Do you have any tips on how you separate out your stuff versus your food when you are tracking. is stuff considered like toilet paper and paper towels if you use them anything to run the household pretty much am I on track with that?? Again I guess I would like to know how you separate out from your trips on your receipt do you just individually add it up once you get home?

      @IndigoNili  8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Marcie Fort I just calculate it the non food items off of my receipt when I get home. I used to do separate transactions so I could have separate receipts. That might be the best way to go if you're wanting to keep business stuff separate from personal. 😊

    I really need to start this sort of budgeting but I'm not sure how much $ to allow myself for each budget. how'd you come up with $600 for groceries and $200 for stuff?

    • @IndigoNili
      @IndigoNili  8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Janicke B.M. At some point husband and I sat down and looked at our whole budget and figured all our expenses and what we wanted to put into savings and found that we could afford $800 for the household and food stuff so that's what we settled on. As long as I'm on top of it it works out pretty well!
