  • In this video Jaap explains how you can take your traditional arrows to the next level and match them perfectly to your needs and bow.
This video does NOT cover the basics of wooden arrow making! We strongly recommend you have at least some experience making wooden arrows and are able to execute a good shot consistantly.
For questions you can always contact us, or Jaap, directly through Facebook or Instagram @tripletroublearchery & @Thejaapbolt

I'm just considering making the switch back to wooden shafts. I was worried about tuning so these methods will be super helpful thank you!

A very smart idea with the blocks...that way you can achieve an even taper..👍👍👍But on the whole, you've made a pretty efficient system of arrow making/tuning...
Thanks for the inspiration 🙏 🙏🙏

Could you give me a description of the screw on arrowheads you used in this presentation? I would really like to try them. Thanks for the great video.

When you reinforced the nock what exactly did you do? It looked like you, maybe, wrapped it with serving thread? And it would be nice to see exactly how you go about adjusting the taper blocks.

Hi there, that's exactly what I Did. When I finish the arrows I also coat those wrappings with superglue. The taper blocks are adjusted by loosening the nuts on the bolts and then simply moving the blocks either closer to each other or further apart. I also like to use a pair of calipers to measure how thick the shaft will be. Hope this answers your questions!
      Cheers, Jaap

On the slo-mo, are you looking for the point of the arrow going left to determine if it's too stiff? You didn't really describe tuning you arrows. Perhaps a video showing weak shafts too. Thanks for the upload, tell Sjef he's sacked...

Mickleblade you’re right, I didn’t exactly explain the concept of tuning, because there are countless videos about that ;) Therefore I wanted to make a video about advanced tuning, where it is expected you already know basic arrow making/tuning. Yes, the point and then the whole shaft will ‘jump’ to the left when it’s too stif. Cheers!

I haven't seen longbow videos in slo-mo though. I know how to tune a recurve but longbow is new to me.

I'm really sure you can build it yourself. I did this 2 weeks ago thanks to the Woodglut plans.
