Gregory Jolivet's happiness is a pleasure to see ! (Hurdy-Gurdy).Blowzabella is one of the best english groups. Thanks a lot for sharing.

Wow, this current iteration of the band is better than ever. And the beautifully composed tunes keep coming. What a treasure.

So lovely to see almost the whole audience up and dancing together! Such joy!

I have to get up and dance during that first tune, even though I'm on my own at home!

I know the band does occasionally do 'sit down' concerts, but the thought of Blowzabella not bringing the audience to its feet seems counter to the whole concept!

Got turned on to Blowzabella in the 90s , Fantastic music ,fantastic musicians but Andy Cutting has to be the best accordian player ever!

I saw Blowzabella in the early 80's at the Rock at Wentworth S,Yorkshire, (Best Folk Club in the Country as voted by the Artistes 2004) but they were a brilliant band then & still are from this Video. The Hurdy Gurdy player then had a really curly hair & used to shake his head from side to side whilst playing

+jonhedge The original hurdy gurdy player was Nigel Eaton until 2004, when he left and was replaced Gregory Jolivet, the guy in the video, I'm so jealous, I'd love to see these live!

Even before Nigel there were two h-g players - Sam Palmer and Cliff Stapleton. See the first album at www.45worlds.com/vinyl/album/plr038

It's taken us a while, (We had to contact the band directly) but we can reveal that the first song is called - 'The New Road to Alston and Lottie's Hornpipe'.
      Hope this helps! 8-)

@@acousticnationsThere's a lovely version of the former done by Dave Townsend (and a 'cello, no less), also on TH-cam. A totally different feel to 'Alston'.
