I ended up purchasing the Mous 25L w/ Lid thinking it was the better purchase, but after my first flight I exchanged it for the lidless option. It was too difficult to quickly access the main compartment on the plane with the Lid. After receiving the lidless version, I think it is far superior to the lidded version for a few reasons: 1) It’s appearance is much more sleek 2) It is easier to access the main compartment on a plane 3) The interior middle compartment’s upper zip pocket has two zippers instead of 1 zipper, making it easier to access the items inside 4) Surprisingly to me, the top front exterior pocket actually is easier to get inside of and feels more spacious. It was difficult to get my hand into the lidded top pocket. Overall this is a great travel backpack and easy to load out for work trips! Thank you for the great reviews Aaron! Can’t wait for my T22 to arrive!
yes, the lid-version is really more focused on padding and security. Access is limited for you, but it also means access is limited for a thief. If that doesn't matter to you, then the non-lid version is def the way to go
I just received this bag today after buying it used on poshmark. It was advertised as a 25L but I thought it seemed small so I was sitting here with my measuring tape trying to do the conversions from their website when your review popped up. I noticed the mistake on the weight as well. Turns out mine is an 18L. However I quite like it and think the 25 would be too big. Major con is the top handle. Wish the logo was black. Haven’t used it yet but overall I really like it.
I respectfully disagree. First it depends on where the pocket is and which direction it is, but then the entire rest of the bag is going to be a bitch to access (unless in rare situations like the Evergoods CPL where the laptop is accessible via the side
Good point! I've been debating a scoring system for this, but it's hard to make scientific and like Pack Hacker reviews I fear everything will just end up being a similar score...
@@Nomads.Nation it doesn't need to be a point system. You could just put it on bad / okay / good scale. For examples I feel alpaka may not be the best but usually offer great value for money.
I say it every video but the side access pocket is needed for people that commute by bike, longboard, etc... to grab something while riding is super helpful.
We really like watching your reviews. Would you consider to be more 'in depth' including as a category, the safety of every backpack? And what about some kind of content creator category? There is a lot of people interested in low profile backpacks, that doesn't scream expensive gear inside and it's hard to find channels taking about non photographic bags and inserts that can fit inside in the way you do. With the quality of your work and your personal style, I think you would succeed 😊

I now have a need to carry 2 laptops with me. One 15in air and one 13in. What would you recommend? I have the black ember bag. The one with the fabric that attracts a ton of pet hair and not the smooth surface. Forgot the name. I low key hate it cuz it just looks dirty easily

Well, you gotta do what you gotta do, man. Not many great laptop backpack that can hold 16inch MBP and other gadgets with total of 8kg load. Not to mention the comfy, thick shoulder pad for less shoulder pain carrying it. Hope the premier launch of Fyro is coming pretty soon.

Great video, In the laptop compartment, does it also have a place to put an iPad Pro 12.9 inch and a 14 inch MacBook Pro? or can it only fit one of these items? the 18L backpack, no lid.
@@Nomads.Nation no worries, Mous told me it does not have an extra place for the iPad Pro. they told me to use the front compartment if I want to pack both devices.

This could be the greatest bag in human history but that CEO and their ads are so annoying I could never give him my money.

Luggage pass through looks better with bag upright, but sideways is more practical at an airport if the bag features quick access pockets

Just got this backpack and absolutely love it! 👍 the only complaint is the top handle and how small it is…
yea it is a bit small, but aside from a few cons I'm really impressed by this bag
I say it every video but the side access pocket is needed for people that commute by bike, longboard, etc... to grab something while riding is super helpful.
makes sense!
fantastic review. I have an oakley kitchen sink that I've been using for about a decade and I'm completely over it. I need a new tech commuter.
Some additional cons from me: 4) If the bag is so structured, it should really be able to stand up by itself 5) zero admin compartment.
agree with point #4 fo sho
Cool, but Fyro has ultra protection too. 👍😉👍
yes it does 😉
🚨I just got one very happy very satisfied a little bit expensive though😎
Glad to hear you like it!
You should review their latest day backpack which has more color and is cheaper
hoping to very soon

You are doing a good job, the channel has a very unique and nice identity, anyway what ever you do, all the best ❤
This bag looks great but yours looks better. And it’s 22 liters. 18 for me is almost unusable - NYC- no car!
appreciated! 🗽
It made me take a look at my aer CPP again.
Still prefer that one. It's a boxy boy. But if the aer is boxy this one is boxy boxy fridge boy.
😂
For sure Aer is much better in shoulder pad department.. it’s thick AF and yet comfy.
They've now got a 20l day bag that has a straight down the middle opening (after you've lifted their lid/.........hatch), looks interesting
(I'm only a couple minutes in, so dunno if you mention it later )
im looking forward to checking that one out

not sure tbh, maybe check out Carry Cubo LEV24, Aer Tech Pack and Aer City Pack Pro. Double check with their customer support to see what can fit

It is but it’s in Mous’ ethos of ultimate protection/security. One more step for you = one more step for a thief as well

I suspect it’s polyurethane coating, they will eventually peel off. And not a fan of too structured bags, feels like cardboard.
structured bags def have their pros and cons, but I too prefer less structure in my bags these days
