Following this guide for my '65 Impala SS. Rear side panels and door panels both work with a metal rail. The new unassembled panels are glued really close to where the rail is riveted to the cardboard. You want to pull it off the glue about an inch so it tightens up nice over the rail seam and doesn't make a bump.

Hopefully you are still answering questions on here I have a 69 impala I removed the door panels and upon reassembly the four screw holes on the bottom don’t line up with the panel on one side it looks like the panel needs to come down 1/4 of an inch but I can’t get it to move any ideas on what I could be doing wrong? Only thing I can think of is the metal at the top of the panel got bent.

You make it look easy. Might actually attempt this with mine. Water got in through the open window and warped the cardboard.
