  • Use Photosphere Mode on the Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro to take a horizontal photosphere instead of using the panorama shooting mode. You'll get a notably better picture with double the resolution.
This should work with any Android that supports the Google Camera with Photospheres as well as prior Google Pixel and Nexus phones.

Thank you for this info! #Teampixel needs to do a lot of tweaking with this camera app.

I can't hold my hand steady enough to use panorama shots anyway

I'm not going to lie. I really like the features I learned about this phone but now that I own it I really don't like it very much. The camera is about the only thing I like.

What do you like better? Are you using a different phone now? I just ordered the Pixel 7 Pro and I'm going to make a video on the night mode and see if I like it any better. Same for panoramas.
Honestly I think the phone market is total junk right now, either bad software or bad hardware, and we are losing features and usability left and right.

@@stevenswall The last 4 phones I had were either LG or Motorola. Before that I had back to back Samsung phones. Bloatware withstanding they were all pretty good overall. I might go back to Samsung. I heard about the Pixel Pro 7 but I didn't look into it. I'm not able to get another phone right now so I'm just dealing. Maybe I'll see what's different or better and give it some thought.

@@Cruzan9 The S6 should have bankrupted Samsung and caused them all to shun themselves from civilized society for creating such a purposefully bad phone with wretched battery life. The S22 is marginally better, but the updates destroy your settings and configurations, it's the worst touchscreen I've used on a phone, and there are so many pood design choices that waste space and confuse users it's ridiculous. Literally switching around where icons are in the screenshot editor for no reason, busting the screen rotate quick setting so that it's a nondescript lock icon instead of a greyed out symbol indicating what it does, and the list goes on. The size and the camera are the only good things and I internally rage every time I have to use it, like typing this on a piece of shit phone that I've literally had to correct ten words it was too stupid to type correctly.
I can type better on an iPhone mini seone haha to me that in not user to... And that's me trying swiping and not going back to correct things.

@@stevenswall Well, that sounds frustrating. It's been a while since I've used a Samsung phone. Whatever phone I end up with when the time comes, I hope it's less than a headache and, if anything, minor annoyances. It'll be a while.

That is absolutely NOT what Photosphere is about. It is for 360° panoramas as the name suggests! And it does an amazing job too.

Sadly, photosphere doesn't support the periscope camera. This would allow for super high resolution 4:3 wide angle photos and would be also a compromise for the lack of a 50mm camera.
