I'm an American and while searching for the words to this song I came across the Danish version and this further led me to Tina Dico. What a wonderful talent she is and a most beautiful woman. I especially enjoy Steffan's physical response to Tina's last verse. He seems to me flushed with pride in her performance. Once again I thoroughly enjoyed the whole performance.
It's amazing how musicality and passion transcend any language barrier. I don't understand a word of Danish but still felt the angst of the song - (more so with Ms. Dickow rather than Mr. Brandt though - sorry ) - because of her wonderfully expressive voice. Hallelujah! :-)
I wish I understood Danish, but even despite my ignorance I can appreciate that his version is Beautifully sung. Wonderful. Thank you. Greetings from the United States. Lovely singing.
I like this version a lot, it's fresh and intense. Judging by the comments below some native English speakers just discovered there are people out there speaking other languages -- what a shock :-))
Hallelujah
As I've mentioned I came to here from K.D. Langs version. God Bless Utube, I've been led to so many great artists. I watched this vid, oh, probably nine years ago. When she does that grimace at 4:07 she had me.
Simply Beautiful.......Tina what can I say ?...You're lovely, stunning, amazing, beautiful, a dream girl, one in a million, no, one in a billion. Steffen, you're the luckiest guy in the world.
Hvad mener i!?
Everyone who dislikes this are only disliking out of the idea that, that which is not understandable = bad. Sure Danish sound weird, but we Danes are proud and this song makes us even prouder.
I used to be a Cohen purist regarding this song, but the more versions I hear the more I realise that the song transcends any one artist. Just like Cohen gives the word hallelujah a new meaning in every verse, so does every new artist add new emotional aspects to it. And in the end the sum of it all is Hallelujah. To those of you who thinks the male singer sings a bit odd, you need to be danish to understand him. There's a lot going on in the way he intones the words that's lost in translation.
VIDUNDERLIGT!!
There are people who don't understand English you know. Yet, there are English songs everywhere. Do we always put subtitles on out videos? This is beautiful.
Tusind tak for uploadet :)
Tina, you have a very beautiful and dynamic, yet sweet, voice on stage! You sang this wonderfully! ~ I had to laugh at the comments about language, and language barriers .... for me, it;s all about the melody, - which language is irrelevant .... The voice is yet another "instrument" in which to present the melody. And it's the most difficult to master. Again - Beautiful performance!
To all haters of this video: Yes you can argue, that it's wrong to translate or even interpret, but you don't know the background of this. The song is on an album of interprets songs on danish. I don't know if this piece of information satisfy you all, but that is the reason for doing it. And then again you ask: but why mess with perfection? I believe Steffen Brandt (the man in this video) translated this song into danish because he loves the song and wanted to express it on his native language.
Damn - Tina Dicow styrer for vildt. . . .
This is a danish (from Denmark) version of "Halleluja". The male performer is a very well-known leadsinger of the band named tv2. The reason he is there are probably b.cause it is him who translated it to danish. Like it or not I know that danish is a very odd-sounding language for many foreigners.
Can't believe this! You are aguing over what language this beautigul song , Hallelujah, is sung in ... unbelievable. Grow up please. They do a great job.
love the instrumentals and Tina's voice, not crazy about the beginning harmony, picks up beautifully later on. Tina's voice is softer, less rough which I believe is required for this song. Just my opinion. Glad I got to hear this version, quite frankly, every one that I have heard moves me.
@emil590648 Hello emil, it's funny because I'm danish and a fan of Steffen Brandt. I actually came across this song while searching for him some 3 years ago or so. And needless to say I instantly enjoyed Tina Dico (Dickow) and became a huge fan of her as well. Though she started her musician career many years ago, it took a long time for me to "discover" her. What a star!!!
What she does at 4:05 produces his face at 4:12 . He's so proud that he is littery glows. In that second he thinks he is the luckiest man alive. And he might be right...
I see what you mean, but understanding both the original and the translation, I will tell you if someone ever were to translate the song into Danish it's definitely the right guy who did it. The translation is a close to the original as can be, and still beatiful poetry in another language .

TINA DICKOW IS JUST THE BOMB, man that woman is awesome, i love her voice it got a ring to it!!
I don't speak Danish... but wow, I love this version ! One of the best I've ever heard.
She has such a beautiful fresh young face and a voice that is absolutely divine. thank you thank you thank you!
Hallelujah
She sings the song from the heart so much passion, best I have heard for this song, loved it.
She has such a beautiful voice. She's amazing.
her voice is gorgeous! i love the language. it's so cool that hallelujah is almost the same in both languages.
As I've mentioned I came to here from K.D. Langs version. God Bless Utube, I've been led to so many great artists. I watched this vid, oh, probably nine years ago. When she does that grimace at 4:07 she had me.
There is a rare rendition on youtube called "3 talented girls", Jodi....
Such a beautiful and difficult song💜
wow, it doesn't matter what language you listen to this in...its just amazing
i'm from Denmark and i LOVE it!! i'm in Brandt choir at his concerts :)
Simply Beautiful.......Tina what can I say ?...You're lovely, stunning, amazing, beautiful, a dream girl, one in a million, no, one in a billion. Steffen, you're the luckiest guy in the world.
the male/female energy is impressive -- very touching ... the emotions are so real ... in any language .... halleluja!!!
Absolutely fantastic! I find Brandt's voice thick and bold, and the women's voice as pretty as a rose. Amazing! This is my favourite version by far!
Fantastisk.
Absolutly beautiful. Didn't understand a word, but the melody was awesome. What a great song in any language. Plus, the youg lady is a knockout!!
-Mega fedt nummer!!
Det her er da for fantastisk... De to bedste sangdkrivere i danmark..Alt for fedt...
Don't understand a word but that is beautiful to listen to. and watch.
Voice and face like an angel... North Carolina says thumbs up!
what a world wide jam. turns my murp purp everytime i hear it
I believe this is probably the best Danish translation of the song.
And what a great one :-)
This girl have just an awesome voice
... She`s like an angel
This is achingly beautiful. Wow. It makes me want to learn Danish; it's clearly the language of the angels.
although...i do not understand a word.......i still love it!!! one of the best versions ever sung!
simply beautiful .. I love her voice.
It sounds great, they are two accomplished singers, one of the best renditions yet
One of the best live performances I can think of. Fantastic!
Hvad mener i!?

Great to hear one of Cohen's songs sung in Danish! I love the way Tina cranks it up around 3:55, way to go girl! Cheers from Canada.
This was quite fine. Thank you.
I love this song. This is a great version of it.
I am totally a new fan of Tina. Forever in love I'm sure.
uh... so beautiful that it makes me shiver
I'm a German learning danish and it think this is really, really awesome.
There are people who don't understand English you know. Yet, there are English songs everywhere. Do we always put subtitles on out videos? This is beautiful.
Dickow, du er skøn! Jeg får gåsehud over det hele.
Tina takes this to the level that we all feel.
Tusind tak for uploadet :)
Beautiful!
Love this song. Well done!
Halleluja on danish, what a wonderfull combination, danish is a beatiful language
I don't understand Danish either, but am learning a bit from this song. Totally awesome, and dripping with emotion. :-)

Again - Beautiful performance!
Beautiful.
What i love most about is this version, is the mix of Dickow and Brandt...it sounded off in theory but the result was perfect...
Best Interpretation of the Coen song from deep Soul of "young girl tina"

Danish?! That's new for me..!
It sounds good, I like that girl, she has a beautiful voice..!
I love her, but if I live another hundred years and never hear this song again, regardless of language, it will be far too soon.
Wow! Cool to hear it in another language!
SO MANY LANGUAGES I HAVE HEARD THIS SONG AND YET AS TINA SINGS SHE IN SPIRIT AND HEART GOES SO FAR PAST ANY LANGUAGE WITH THIS SONG
beautiful...
Årh, jeg for helt kuldegysninger.
Tina synger fantastisk & Steffen er for nice :D
This version is making me cry.

Glad we cleared that one up.
fantastisk duo. skøn sang der bliver bare bedre. 2 af dansk musiks bedste sangere.
good song and beautifully song.
Det här var riktigt bra!
Tina synger bare så godt! Hun har bare en smuk stemme!
What she does at 4:05 produces his face at 4:12 . He's so proud that he is littery glows. In that second he thinks he is the luckiest man alive. And he might be right...
Pretty much a translation of Leonard Cohens text. I love his virsion but love this too. Nete from Denmark

Holland ROCKS!! I'm a fourth Dutch and Indonesian. I love Holland!! Wait till you hear Indonesian language. lol
You know it Danish, right? ;)
