  • A good day of wheeling @ Rausch Creek. First attempt at running Shoot the Moon. We did the extended version starting at the bottom of the quarry and going as far back in as you can go. A Google search didn't find any daily driver-type rigs doing this obstacle so I thought I'd share. I'm happy to have done a very popular Red trail at Rausch but I'm even happier about the technical execution- precise & confident spotting, minimal use of the skinny pedal and zero carnage.

amazing driving. only wheel speed when necessary and excellent tire placement. a well equipped/ built jeep didn't hurt but this was certainly great driving

I did this trail a few months ago in my 2014 JK WIlly Wheeler Special Edition. It was more visually intimidating that anything. I followed a group of buggies in, and got to the bottom and they were all tangled up, so I did a 257 point turn and went back to the quarry. I sat for a while and they finnaly cleared it out the far side, so I went up and in again and came out the other side. Then I picked up my buddies wife and came back to the quarry through it and dropped her with her husband and another buddies wife got in... and went back to the far end where her husband came around to collect her. Mines a 2 door JK with some bolt on mods. Nothing major.

Mighty fine wheelin' I remember running those trails in the late 90s. I helped Bruce and Linda cut trails. Do they still run the show? peace

If you don't mind some questions! What front axle do you have? Diff gear ratio? Locker?

Nice work. What's your suspension setup, lift and tire size?

awesome! I've been waiting to see a 2dr jk walk this, didnt look like you had too much trouble. How do you like the 6pak shocks? How long have you had them?

dyn0mitemat , glad you liked it. I'm going to give credit to my spotter, AK Whatley of Chaos Fab. It was a good day at Rausch for me. We did quite a few of the other 'easier' Reds. I like the 6Paks. I've run them for about 18 months. MetalCloak customer support is very, very good.

srwings Good to hear, thanks for the reply! I've got a 2dr rubi on 37s with everything metalcloak except shocks, been debating between the 6pak and coilovers. Any other input on them? Kinda swaying that way since they'd be cheaper
