You have no idea what you're talking about! These chioldren have been given a sub-standard, virtually useless education by a corrupt government, whose personal interest it is to keep these learners stupid! What the hell are you congratulatng them for? Shame on you!
My high school, I am so proud of you all. Education is key, don’t let anyone convince you otherwise. If you grew up in poverty, you have a greater chance to improve your life through education.
I hope those who point out that the pass rate is 30% ask the same question to all schools that achieve the highest pass rate. If you take the time to listen, you'll realize these schools produce the most bachelor's degrees and distinctions in mathematics. It's absurd to criticize without offering anything positive, just stay silent if you can't be constructive. It's exhausting to constantly hear negativity from people who fail to understand the challenges these kids overcome.
Some of these comments are disgraceful. Can we just be happy for them? Through all struggles and difficulties they made it and reached this milestone. Proud of you guys and wish you all the best for your future 🎉
Pass rate is 30%....yes not all kids have the ability to learn and have different home environments that may cause them to not do as well. But the pass rate needs to go up....becuase this standard is a a terrible example. By the end of it, it comes to choice of "Do I want to do well for myself and change my circumstances by doing well I school and pushing myself to get to uni or college"
It helps the pass rate is 30%, I never read into the final Matric Results becuse you almost just have to show up to pass. Understood a lot of children don't have the same schooling or they are forced to go school locally which might not be the best for them. But still our standards in this country is terrible and if we continue on this course we won't competent people to run society becuase of the system in place.
Remember passing matric doesn’t mean they all got 30%, 9 distinctions in maths is not 30%. Let’s celebrate and not drag them down. They studied hard against all odds, you may not relate.
@tpmash a hand full passed with a high pass mark the majority did not why do you think they did not want to make it public 🤔 hope you know that low pass mark needed will affect the quality of the work force in the future
@@tpmash it's hilarious how you immediately jump to discredit what I stated. I was talking about passing marks as a whole not the exceptional outliers. It's pointless to state we have a 90%+ pass rate when the mark required to pass is 30%. Perhaps it is you who has little understanding as the majority of what I had stated seems to have gone over your head.
Pity 80% of them will not be able to find a job . Those who find a job will work for peanuts . The government needs to get its act together . They live large while the people live in the mud .
@@NickandAnna how can we be happy when this system is built to take from them more than it gives? I do commend the top achievers and bachelor passes, but they're a minority, the majority are those that got 30% and 40℅
@NickandAnna I was in Matric in 2017 got through with about 55%+ overall. I felt like a idiot and that I barely deserved to be passing High School. These kids barely scraping by 30% will have it very very difficult life as they think you need to put in minimal effort to get what you want. I will not praise mediocrity. I will praise the young man or girl who live in the townships who actually do well in school despite their hardships, struggles or home environment.
@@francosmith6190 this I was forced to drop out in 2020, I completed my highschool in August of 2024, via an online learning platform where I did the American Standard curriculum. To pass there you need 70% in all subjects. I felt like a proper domkop because all my life I was comfortable getting 50s and 60s, so I really had to work my butt of to pass. Also don't beat yourself up sir/ma'am, atleast you got over 50%, something a majority of our population has or will never achieve... Unfortunately.
@NickandAnna The low matric pass mark in South Africa is a concerning issue. While the intention behind it may be to increase pass rates and give more students a chance to progress, it can ultimately set them up for future failure. By lowering the standards, we're not adequately preparing students for the rigors of tertiary education or the workforce. Many students who barely pass matric may struggle to keep up with university coursework or find themselves ill-equipped to compete in the job market. Rather than lowering the pass mark, we should focus on improving our education system as a whole. This includes investing in better resources, training teachers, and providing support for students who are struggling. By raising the standards and providing adequate support, we can ensure that our students are truly prepared for success.
A big thank you to the teachers for their hard work, and the learners for their willingness to put in the work!!!

I highly commend the educators, the management, SGB and the learners for such a high performance. Wish the school well in 2025.❤

Another idiot. You honestly have no idea how valueless this matric certificate is?!
Awesome news!!!
Welldone to the matritulants and the people that supported their efforts.

This is beautiful. Education is one ticket away from poverty. Speaking from experience. Education changed our family story.
