  • Olivadoti subtitled El Caballero a "Spanish March" - both the title and the music attest to his interest in the paso doble style. In addition to the marches of such composers as Karl King, Merle Evans, Russell Alexander, Charles E Duble, and Fred Jewell, this work has long been used to accompany the "liberty horses" (a circus act featuring from eight to twelve beautiful horses performing without riders). At a fast tempo, El Caballero is exciting; at a slower paso doble temple it is impressive.
