The Caucasian languages comprise a large and extremely varied array of languages in and around the Caucasus Mountains, which lie between the Black Sea and the Caspian Sea. Linguistic comparison allows the classification of these languages into several different language families, with little or no discernible affinity to each other. However, the languages of the Caucasus are sometimes mistakenly referred to as a family of languages.
If you are interested to see your native language/dialect be featured here.

Looking forward to hearing from you!
Rest in peace Ubykh you were too great for the world.
What did he do?
@@user-pk9qo1gd6r Extinct. After resettling from Russia to Turkey, the Ubykhs were asymilized by the Turks.
I agree. There should be a revival for this beautiful language.
@@wairor7490 This can happened if Caucasian regions was incorporate in Turkey, now all they are extint.
REMINDER: these are CAUCASIAN languages aka languages LIMITED to the caucasus with NO connection to language families outside the caucasus. LANGUAGES OF THE CAUCASUS INCLUDE armenian ossetian azeri etc but these languages belong to language families outside the caucasus. KNOW THE DIFFERENCE

Greetings from Lak (our homeland is Dagestan). How are you in Jordan ?
I just can't stop exploring the languages of the religion since they're so interesting, especially Circassian languages
Oooh! Caucasian languages! My favorite language family! Thanks for doing my video request! 😄😄😄😄😄😄
I am proud to have circassian ancestry very cool languages and the most difficult
One of My favourite regions on earth. Circassian being my favourite sounding language on earth. Georgian comes close as well.

The Laz language is pretty good

Exactly
The Georgian are honorable people! Greetings to them all!
FYI Turkish government already get some ways to preserve Ubykh speakers. Ubykh speakers are still there until the last Ubykh speaker passed away in 1960. Long after Circassian Genocide in 1869 by Russians under Tsar Nicholas I. Estimated 800,000 until 1,400,000 millions Circassians deaths caused by wars, mass execution, migrations, kidnap, starvation (food supplies were being raided by oprchiniks and cossacks), or diseases.
Kabardian sounds like a royal language. Almost polished. I would love to speak it.
My childhood friend is from Adyghe family we are both Syrian but I'm Arab, in Arabic language the people of Adyghe origin called "Sharakes(as a tribe)" or "Sharkas/Sharkasi(singular)"
Thank you for Laz Language ❤️
In Lezgi language the reader pronounced "Dog" word "kich'i", but there is another way of pronouncing it - "kits'i".
The Ubykh language is very similar to the Shapsug dialect of the Adyghe language and the Abkhaz language
Avar reading sounded awesome, where can I find more like this?
The Northwest Caucasian languages remind me somewhat of Welsh.
To me too
Thank you for this informative video greetings from Sweden
Adyghe😊
Great video keep it up.
Este canal es fabuloso. De lo mejor de You Tube
Welcome from Georgia🏔🇬🇪👋
hi Andy can u do a comparison between Georgian, Laz, Svan and Mingrelian since they are in the same language family?
I need volunteers.
@@ilovelanguages0124 Here I am, Georgian and Megrelian (not mingrelian) languages speaker
Avar is beautiful!
Гӏалгӏай, Нохчий, Бацби
9:36 "Nasreddin Hodja and a friend were discussing their wives, when it occurred to the friend that Nasreddin had never mentioned his wife's name. "What is your wife's name?" he asked. "I do not know her name", admitted the Hodja. "What?" asked the friend in disbelief. "How long have you been married?" "Twenty years", answered the Hodja, then added, "At first I did not think that the marriage would last, so I did not take the effort to learn my bride's name."
thank you!
Sometimes I hear Mongolian then Turkic then something else. Amazing all so packed in to a small area but three groups unrelated. Wonder about their DNA connection. Andy always in awe of how you get these voices, transliteration of the language as well. Bloody brilliant 👏👏👏
Yo Andy , when will you return to the old style different new languages videos ?
NORTHEAST CAUCASIAN 💪💪💪💪💪💪💪
Жьіви Вольньій и Независимьій Кавказ!
3:06 Antoine de Saint-Exupéry ❤️
With apologies to any speakers, Mingrelian sounds to me like Tolkien's Black Speech.
Я как Кавказец. всех уважаю и люблю. берегите себя братья и сёстры.
can you please do British dialects and hamsterish
What is the rarest language that you guys can speak?
Our languages are not related but I hope all of paleocaucasian languages will saved after we lost Dval (18th century) and Ubykh (20th century) languages
Nobody:
Me: Always enjoy hearing your voice 🤤❤✨
Plz make Slavic languages plzzz
more about Avar
As a half Laz I liked this video
Адыги и кабардинцы одно и то же
Muito bom ☝️👍
Can't wair for modern uyghur language)
Do malaysian dialects next 🥳
Avar is so weird 😂
Laz Language in Rize
Laz and migrelian are kartvelian languages tho
This video is nice but i wish it showed Laz in the georgian script too, also megrel and svan
Is Kartvelian Caucasian? (not as a region, as a language family)
There is no established 'caucasian family', but georgian is however basically southern caucasian
Idea: Masurian Dialect

Caucasian Klingon languages 😅
Kinda off topic but I hate English speakers (or maybe just Americans) mix up terms Caucasian and Caucasoid. If you wanna put "white folks", "middle eastern" or "Indian" etc in another way then you should use Caucasoid. Caucasians are people from Caucasus not White folks in general.
no you shouldnt use the term caucasoid at all as its based on a WRONG AND RACIST THEORY !!! call white people white call europeans european BUT DONT CALL ANYONE WHO IS NOT FROM THE CAUCASUS CAUCASIAN OR CAUCASOID
Land of ejectives
the author of the video forgot to write about the language of the Karachays and Balkars, who live in the very center of the Caucasus near Elbrus.
Noice
Mingrelian flag is yellow Dominicana. LOL
Kalmykia is a Caucasia countrie or central asia countrie?
Nie żyje Rakim Sarhat. Postrzelony przez Mahammada.
Abkhaz lannguage region actually Abkhazia and Turkey
Umarł na strajku.
All this time, I've thought that Caucasian means white 💀
it doesnt this term was stolen from real caucasians by a german pseudoscientist called friedrich blumenbach and he made a terrible wrong racist tace theory saying all europeans came from the caucasus bc he thought that the skulls of caucasian women are the most beautiful and many more horrible and wrong things. this is simply the languages limited to the caucasus aka they have no connection to any onther languages outside the caucasus. there are more caucasian people that do tho like armenians and ossetians who belong to the indoeuropean family (like most of europe thats why theyre not mentioned here) or azeris (who belong to the turkic family) and some mongolic people to. ALSO AFRO-CAUCASIANS EXIST TOO

Some of them sound like mongolian....
Georgian is Kartvelian, not Caucasian.
Armenian should be in that group too..it is somewhat between caucasian and indoeuropean Sometimes to indoeuropean for caucasians and to caucasian in comparison to indoeuropean languages..maybe because of urartians in armenian ethnoghese
Azerbaijan?
Senin dediğin Oğuz Dillerine bağlı. Kafkas Dil Ailesi yukarıda belirtilenler. Kafkasyada ortaya çıkan diller. Ermenice yada Osetçede yok mesela, zira bunlarda Kafkasyanın dışından geldiler.
Turkic
As a language family Azerbaijani is Turkic not Caucasian. But azerbaijani is the most spoken language in the Caucasus in terms of the number of speakers.
Armenian???
Under Indo-European
Armenian is Indo-european
HAYASTANI BLOND PEOPLE
armenain is a language OF the caucasus not a caucasian language as it belongs to the indoeuropean family that is not limited to the caucasus
Lol, I thought when you say "Caucasian", I thought you meant European.
I think it should be called "caucasus" instead
No. The term belongs to people of the Caucasus who are called Caucasians.
Absolutely not. Caucasian just means anything to do with the caucuses region and that's all it will ever mean. White americans and Europeans are 0% caucasian. Only caucuses people are caucasian.
What about Armenian and Azeri? They're Caucasian too.
Armenian and Azeri are not caucasian languages. Armenian is an indo-european language whereas Azeri is a Turkic language.
@@1xyz6992 They're still geographically Caucasian, though the langauges families the'yre part of isn't limited to the Caucasus region like the others.
@@user-pk9qo1gd6r yes, this video only uses languages from families limited to the Caucasus, not just any language spoken there.
@@user-pk9qo1gd6r what you say is true but the title refers to the caucasian language family and not to the caucasian region.
they are LANGUAGES OF THE CAUCASUS but NOT CAUCASIAN LANGUAGES. the difference is caucasian languages are only limited to the caucasus there are no languages outsind the caucasus that belong to the same family as any of them. languages of the caucasus are not limited to the caucasus like armenian it belongs to the indoeuropean family and therefor is connected to languages outside the caucasus
Arabic + Turkic + Khoisan = random Caucasian language
🤡
