I can’t speak for all black woman but in the Nigerian community, women are treated badly by their husbands so they raise their daughters, resenting them but mitigating for men. It is often believed that if a man isn’t behaving well it’s a result of the woman’s misconduct. In order for the woman to raise her profile as a good person in her community she tolerates bad behaviour from her man. A woman isn’t judged by her academic achievements or her career, but by her ability to have children and stay in a marriage. Daughters witness this behaviour and learn to believe it’s the norm. Marriage is not seen as something that is supposed to bring happiness, but something we have to tolerate as there’s no such thing as perfection. Not only do they witness it, they are taught it by elders of their community. They are told that waiting for perfection is unrealistic and they are ridiculed as being picky, not serious or having pathetic expectations. As a result, they end up marrying down.
She finally adopted the son she always wanted, I'm so happy for her. I remember watching an episode of her reality show where she talked about adopting a baby boy. I love T-boz, she is my favorite of the group although I have mad love for all of the girls. I donated money to the sickle cell foundation in honor of T-boz. We conversed on Twitter and she was so pleased.

I wish her all the happiness in the world. My auntie passed away from sickle cell in August of 2021 at the age of 44. So I understand the health struggles she is going through.
That side eye for T-boz getting kicked out for being light skinned wasn't necessary. I've seen those things happen a few times in the 80's. Being light skinned was usually confused with being weak. So people tried you. I don't know about now but that was a thing.
My mother told me horror stories from her childhood because she was pale skinned…whiter then the usual light skinned and had straight hair so girls would try and jump her. One put gum in her hair. She had to fight almost everyday and felt she didn’t belong in the black or white community. My mother don’t know what she is mixed with, she never knew her father all she knew was her black side…it’s truly sad and sickening about the trauma that people endure because of their skin tone

I remember when she was seeing Takeo Spikes, when he played for the football team the Buffalo Bill's. I'm from Buffalo, and I became a quick fan of Takeo. I also remember them being on this crazy show. It was about athletes and their girlfriends knowledge of each other's likes and dislikes but mainly about if that athlete would marry their girlfriend's. T-Boz and Takeo had an episode and Takeo was asked if he would marry T-Boz anytime soon and never really answered the question, just laughed a lot! I could see the pain on T-Bozs' face. And soon after, there relationship ended. I'll never forget that.
The management of TLC robbed them dry & when i found out it broke my heart. The girls marked my teenage yrs with their style music attitude & presence. I feel for her 😢

My girl. I loved this group. I always had a special place in my heart for tboz because I suffer from the same illness she does. I was diagnosed at 2 when we were stationed in Okinawa Japan. I was also told I wouldn't live past 30 and shouldn't have kids,I'm tboz's age. Thanks to the great dad I had who told me I can still be whatever I want n do whatever anybody else xan. I didn't tell anyone,not even my best friend or boyfriend's about my illness because I didn't wanna be looked at as the sick girl. I so understood why she didn't tell her bandmates or anybody. You never get used to this kind of pain,you just find a way to just tolerate it. Luckily I've never been in a coma or had any organs fail,for that I'm truly gratedul. I always love to hear how she is doing. Anybody with a sickness like this that is triggered by stress should definitely not be in an abusive or bad relationship,that just triggers crises n puts you in unbearable indescribable pain. I would go through natural child birth yearly over this pain. ( my son actually was delivered natural with no meds,not by choice.) tMy late father worked in left eyes building when he lived in Atlanta n they got to be friends. He loved talking about how cool she was,how they smoked weed together n he made the mistake of getting in the car with her, she drove like a madwoman,speeding and busting corners on 2 wheels.. She called him old school. I hated I never got to meet her. Didn't know she dated Nelly's trainer. She is private with her love life. I never thought dalvin or Mac 10 were good for her. Them being in the business you know they were smashing groupies. They made a cute couple but you knew it wasn't forever. Hope she gets her happy ending.
This young lady has had a tough life and it's sad that she has had to endure so much pain. There really are no words. I've had a brain 🧠 tumor and 2 surgeries to remove it, so I can understand some of what she went through. All I can really do is pray 🙏 for her and ask God to make her life better! Don't stop writing. Maybe a book of Personal Poetry might help. Although I never published anything, writing about the issues of my life has helped me cope with anger and stress throughout my life! ✌️🙏

I wish her all the happiness in the world. My auntie passed away from sickle cell in August of 2021 at the age of 44. So I understand the health struggles she is going through.

That side eye for T-boz getting kicked out for being light skinned wasn't necessary. I've seen those things happen a few times in the 80's. Being light skinned was usually confused with being weak. So people tried you. I don't know about now but that was a thing.
With girls it tends to be jealousy. Sad but true.

My mother told me horror stories from her childhood because she was pale skinned…whiter then the usual light skinned and had straight hair so girls would try and jump her. One put gum in her hair. She had to fight almost everyday and felt she didn’t belong in the black or white community. My mother don’t know what she is mixed with, she never knew her father all she knew was her black side…it’s truly sad and sickening about the trauma that people endure because of their skin tone

@@phoenixsinclair2959 : I experienced the very same thing except it wasn't the gum thing. But I would constantly get my hair touched constantly by other kids. And I was told that I was too light to be black so, my aunt had to make me play outside in the sun just for my skin to get tanned.
I remember when she was seeing Takeo Spikes, when he played for the football team the Buffalo Bill's. I'm from Buffalo, and I became a quick fan of Takeo. I also remember them being on this crazy show. It was about athletes and their girlfriends knowledge of each other's likes and dislikes but mainly about if that athlete would marry their girlfriend's. T-Boz and Takeo had an episode and Takeo was asked if he would marry T-Boz anytime soon and never really answered the question, just laughed a lot! I could see the pain on T-Bozs' face. And soon after, there relationship ended. I'll never forget that.
The management of TLC robbed them dry & when i found out it broke my heart. The girls marked my teenage yrs with their style music attitude & presence. I feel for her 😢
When their 1st album came out, T-Boz was my 1st TLC crush, the is was Chili on the 2nd album & Lefteye was my crush from Fanmail up until her tragic death but I have always loved T-Boz's voice

This was good but it triggered me I lost my bf last year to sickle cell she was only 39. She has a husband and 2 sons who along with myself miss her dearly. On a positive note I am glad the TBoz is still pushing thru after so much she has been thru 🙏

I remember in high school kids would call me T-Boz because I had the hair cut, dressed in baggy clothes, we looked some what alike and not a positive but a negative, she and I share Sickle CELL alike. Everything seem so strange that Our lives were so similar to one another. The only thing I didn't get was to become a RnB singer of a famous world singing group. That's ok,I had and still have a blessed life. 🤗🤗👌

My girl. I loved this group. I always had a special place in my heart for tboz because I suffer from the same illness she does. I was diagnosed at 2 when we were stationed in Okinawa Japan. I was also told I wouldn't live past 30 and shouldn't have kids,I'm tboz's age. Thanks to the great dad I had who told me I can still be whatever I want n do whatever anybody else xan. I didn't tell anyone,not even my best friend or boyfriend's about my illness because I didn't wanna be looked at as the sick girl. I so understood why she didn't tell her bandmates or anybody. You never get used to this kind of pain,you just find a way to just tolerate it. Luckily I've never been in a coma or had any organs fail,for that I'm truly gratedul. I always love to hear how she is doing. Anybody with a sickness like this that is triggered by stress should definitely not be in an abusive or bad relationship,that just triggers crises n puts you in unbearable indescribable pain. I would go through natural child birth yearly over this pain. ( my son actually was delivered natural with no meds,not by choice.) tMy late father worked in left eyes building when he lived in Atlanta n they got to be friends. He loved talking about how cool she was,how they smoked weed together n he made the mistake of getting in the car with her, she drove like a madwoman,speeding and busting corners on 2 wheels.. She called him old school. I hated I never got to meet her. Didn't know she dated Nelly's trainer. She is private with her love life. I never thought dalvin or Mac 10 were good for her. Them being in the business you know they were smashing groupies. They made a cute couple but you knew it wasn't forever. Hope she gets her happy ending.
They all had gone through so much but all of them remained resilient. And they all had a beautiful friendship with eachother

This young lady has had a tough life and it's sad that she has had to endure so much pain. There really are no words. I've had a brain 🧠 tumor and 2 surgeries to remove it, so I can understand some of what she went through. All I can really do is pray 🙏 for her and ask God to make her life better! Don't stop writing. Maybe a book of Personal Poetry might help. Although I never published anything, writing about the issues of my life has helped me cope with anger and stress throughout my life! ✌️🙏
