Thanks again for the reaction! Ill address some parts of the video that I didn't catch during the live chat. The comment he makes about how this song is some unpronouncable thing from his culture from long ago is just a joke. As far as I'm aware the entire song is just pure freestyle with whatever was in his head. Beardyman's builds ups are highly inspired by the real builds ups of the various genre's and he never lets things loop for to long. This song didn't just have a drop he built up for like traditional loopstation tracks do, he is constantly adding to it or manipulating the drop which gives it that extra dimention of a produced track. I don't know if he does other jobs, I think all his time is spent on working on his setup (He even programs for it himself) and performances / streams. The references he has are existing songs just like you and me would have existing songs as a reference point in the back of our minds when we create something. But its not like he was replicating anything like i mentioned before. Its just a lot of listening to music, deep understanding of these genre's and a workflow so one to one he can just play what is on his mind constantly. To him this will be very similar to how playing a piano would work for someone else where because they can effortlessly play an instrument they can just jam and play whats on their mind without needing all the preperation you'd typically see with production. If you want to see how insanely fast he can write these I can also recommend the BBC Comedy Lounge set of his if you want to do a bearydman reaction in the future, that one is roughly 20 minutes and he does songs based on the audience suggestions. The setup in that one is a predecessor to the one in this video. Back then he used a truly custom rig, not ableton and it could do some things his current one can not do. I believe he could freely move parts of the track around and rearrange them in that one but i could be wrong on that. It also predates him using the RC505, which he only used around the GBB 2019 era. In that liveset he will actually forget the title of the song right as he has to sing the lyrics, gets reminded of the song and just picks it up right away. So if anything that video will show how insanely fast his creative process is and how impressive his setup was even 8 years ago.
