Very informative video, years later this helped me with my speedloader! Thanks!

Thank you so much for this, which is still a great help years later (November 2022).
I followed your instructions and got my speed loader to work smoothly. However, there is no adapter for the magazine of a Umarex Walther P38 so you have to align the dispensing hole of the loader with the hole at the top of the magazine by hand. This is difficult - the two slip out of alignment very easily and you end up spraying BBs around the room.
My solution was to modify adapter #4, which is intended for the Makarov. I took apart the adapter (one small Philips screw to undo) and shaved off the stud on the plate that faces inside. Then, the P38's magazine fits into the adapter, which holds it in place with the BB path aligned. Works well, except that you have to be careful when removing the magazine from the loader as there will likely be one or two BBs that have left the loader and not made it into the magazine.

Thanks for the inspiration, it encouraged me to take on the disassemble. FYI, tried all your tips, still jamming. 😢
Removed the 'safety bar' completely, still jamming 😢😢
Finally decided it was just a poorly manufactured piece of crap. For an additional example, the top screw holding the halves together stripped because it bound up in the plastic. Not sure why plastic is stronger than metal...

Thank you for posting this video. I just got my speedloader in the mail, and the thing jammed up the first time I pushed down on the plunger.
I like the speed loader, now that it works, but I'm giving Umarex a fail for quality control. When I opened the unit up, I found flashing and injection molding sprues on some of the parts. After trimming these off, and making the modifications you suggested, it works very well. Have a like :).

I never imagined it could be fixed, I tought it was badly designed and just stopped using it. Thanks.

Great job! I just received my loader and simply thought it was broken/bad design. But before I forced anything and break it for real I decided to Google it. So what I found during the Pvel1977's 'fix' process is that the design itself is really a good one. Where the burp in practice is found is the "flash" remaining on the two plastic halves. During the injection molding process the two mold tools come together to form a near liquid tight seal to create a cavity - where the hot liquid plastic will flow to become the actual part. Where these two halve meet is called the "parting line". Because the injection process is done with significant pressure, some plastic will seep into this line. this is called the "flash". If you look close at the two halves and at the tip of the plunger you will see this line of plastic. Normally this is not an issue, but in this case, it is a big issue because the flash is actually choking down the diameter of the exit hole for the BBs. Using Pvel1977's excellent video you simply use a small round file, or sand paper around a small round stick and remove this excess plastic. No bragging, but mine now works better than his does ;-)
Thanks again for taking the time to post your video.

I noticed that this video was made a few years ago. Despite this, the problem you had of the bbs jamming is still occurring in a new purchase of the same loader in 2016. You would have thought that Umarex would have fixed this in the interim years.
I followed the video and adjusted the parts you showed causing the problem and I now have a non jamming speed loader.
Thank you for uploading the fix.

I just bought an S&W M&P that came with one of these. The first try, I managed to get a few BBs through, but I had to push so hard I thought it would break. I'm definitely going to have to go through this and make all these repairs.

Thank you for this. With a little light filing and a tiny dab of oil, it turned this quality control nightmare piece of crap into a good functional tool.

Thought this product sucked. It did by poor manufacture. But good idea. After a little time(don't try to speed through) and careful attention to where parts have to go back.It works great, now. Thanks for video!!

I fix my umarex bb speed loader from jamming by pulling it apart and lubricating oil on the parts

Will this dispense 1 at a time or does it "stream" a group out?

    • @Pvel1977
      @Pvel1977  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

It will stream them out as you push the plunger. A partial push will put a few out and a full push will send a bunch out.

Does this loader or any of its attachments have an ability to insert just ONE bb with the plunger?

I made this video many years ago and I'm surprised people are still finding it. Anyway, I have never tried, but I feel it's meant to fill a bb magazine and self stops when the mag is full. You could always try it.

I watched the video few time and still don't know what was done to get it fixed. I can NOT understand one word of what Pvel1977 is saying, sound like his praying / mumbling. Maybe something is wrong with my computer speakers but anyhow, can someone explain to me in few words the fixing process?

Feloniuos Gru - sorry about the audio. It was my first and only video recorded with an IPhone 4. What you're needing to do is once you open it and take it apart, you will see a ridge near the bottom that you try to force the bb's past. You need to shave that off with an exacto knife until no ridge is left and smooth it with sandpaper like a 180 grit. As well at the exit hole it is tight - shave a bit at time - reassemble and test. The bb's should fly out with every button press. Hope this helps.

Pvel1977 - Got it!...Thank you very much. The video is very explanatory once I understood what parts need to be shaved.

In essence yup! I was honestly bored one day and me being a type to always want to tinker and fix, I found a fix with a bit of time.
