    This is a good instruction video. It really is a head-scratcher why Mopar can't offer better instructions - especially given the quality of design and engineering inherent in the JL/ JT vehicles. What anyone preparing to install one of these Sunbonnet needs to know is that you can't use this and a Spiderwebshed at the same time. In fact, if you have a Spiderwebshade mounted you will need to remove the tie hardware to make room for the Mopar Sunbonnet snaps. I am hoping the new Bestop option is more compatible.

    Can you leave the header on with the hard top or do you have to take that off, too?

    I'm baffled about the velcro. They show it on the sound bar, kind of?

    Do I have to move the windshield in order to re-install the soft top? And do i have to completely remove my soft top when I install the sun bonnet or can i leave it folded up by the back window?

      @TheBmcfunk  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      You do have to take the bolts out of the front windshield. You can get by without laying it down though. The second part of your question I can not verify. I only have the hard top.

    Do you have to uninstall the bonnet completely in order to put the hardtop back on? Thanks

    • @TheBmcfunk
      @TheBmcfunk  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I honestly hadn’t tried but I think it would be impossible to install the freedom panels with it on.

      @@TheBmcfunk I finally installed ours today. Thank you for your video. I don't think we could've done it without it.

    Does the zipper connection leak in the rain?

    How does this do on the highway? I've heard mixed reviews.

    • @TheBmcfunk
      @TheBmcfunk  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I’m not a fan on the highway. I only put it on in case of rain. I’d say it’s like having a shitty umbrella in the wind. It’s better than nothing. They now make a twill one that I have seen that has a back window. I might grab one and test it out.

      @@TheBmcfunk thanks for the info. I passed on one at the dealer yesterday, who makes the back window one you're looking at?

      @@bushmant6279 The only twill one with back window section I know of is the Mastertop.

      @@TheBmcfunk The problem at highway speeds is excessive flapping or rain getting all over the place? There's not many options out there for this type Gladiator roof (Mopar, Bestop, Mastertop and all have very limited & mixed reviews tho). Thanks for the great video as I try to decide which way to go.

    • @TheBmcfunk
      @TheBmcfunk  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@michaelv6493 the flapping on the highway is annoying but for the protection it’s worth it. I sold my gladiator last year for another jeep and kept this just in case I get a new one. Going on a day trip without the top is a gamble without a product like this.

    Does it roll up and stay strapped to the front of the windshield when not in use?

    • @TheBmcfunk
      @TheBmcfunk  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Unzips from front and comes all the way off when not used. 2 minutes off and 5 minutes to put back on.

      @@TheBmcfunk so you can use this as a summer top basically? If you’re driving and it starts raining zip it up and it’ll cover you, if it’s not raining leave it unzipped and it’s as if you don’t have a top?

    • @TheBmcfunk
      @TheBmcfunk  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@VentureAHighway that’s exactly how I use it. I go topless all summer and keep this under my rear seat. If I get stuck in a bind, I throw it on.

      @@TheBmcfunk so the front flap that goes under windshield stays on all the time? It doesn’t interfere with your hard front panels going back. On? I’m just planning on carrying mine for emergencies when top is off.
