    Good to see ya back dude. :) One trick I have seen people do is more so let the horse kind of let it lift the legs up for you more slowly. Like slowly go down the leg and let the horse get it's balance right instead of it being more knee-jerky. :)
    Great video otherwise.

    16:20 right in the lady parts 😂 luckily she didn't kick hard still probably hurt though that's why I'm not fond of horses when I was in my early 20s I got kicked in my upper leg had the worst charlie horse for a month no pun intended I had to limp around for a cpl weeks also in that same month I was feeding some mules and the other mule must've got mad I wasn't feeding him enough and bit me right on the ass he had a nice chunk of skin in his teeth after that I was done with the horses and mules for a while but great video man happy Thanksgiving as well

    I like these videos bro...I'm no farrier but I do trim and shoe our 3 horses when I can (2 pintos and a clydesdale)...my back isn't too good but we get by🤙 I find it interesting watching the different techniques of farriers to get the same results...everything I know I have learned from TH-cam and in the 3 years since I started doing our own horses there's been no issues whatsoever with their feet and Ive never had a shoe come off...and that's thanks to people like you who take the time to video your craft for us to watch and to learn....so for that my friend I thank you....Shane (New Zealand )

    Mares are my worst clients almost always. Fractured wrist, punch in the jewels with the front hoof, concussion and back injuries were all from mares.

    Ai ai Caramba! That must have hurt on THAT spot.. 👀😓 but I do believe you've gotten ball's of steel because you didn't even flinch! 😎 I'm impressed 😁👌
    I guess the next question is a bit logical, how much did you gotten kicked over the 5 years you do this job and is it mostly the most rotten place or are horses way more agile and diverse in their movements..
    Okay.. I admit.. a bit of sarcasm is in my curiosity too, and so you just know it's just teasing you, Lol 😁😜😊
    Oh, and may I ask what you use to film with?

    I like to shoe gentle and a soft voice. I hate it when the owner wants to hold the horse, they usualy end up seeing what they can get away with in my experience.

    Getting kicked sucks. I was kicked in the arm and ribcage once. Immediately dropped to the ground.

    Notice how the horse really doesnt fight or try to kick until you are pounding on those hoof walls like your driving a railroad spike? Lol hope you figured out what the problem was there. You finally found one that wouldn't put up with that crap. Hope you learned a valuable lesson lol if your running a proper clinch there is absolutely no reason to pound on those clinches like that with your hammer

      Dustin Smith to be honest it was probably the flies. You can see them on its shoulder at one point.

    • @dustinsmith7542
      @dustinsmith7542 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@preecey18 I honestly wish I could say it was flies. However that was not the case in the slightest way. I've been a farrier for 15 years and i can tell ya that pounding on those walls with a hammer like that is not only totally unnecessary its total stupidity. You can watch every other farrier video on here and you will not see anyone else doing that. Now some times I'll hammer clinch a nail but i do not strike the wall like that ever. Dont know where he learned this trade but he is what we refer to as a HACK

      @@dustinsmith7542 Regardless of the Perceived reasoning for the horse kicking,he wouldnt have gotten kicked,if he didnt put himself in the position,to be kicked..30 plus years of being a farrier,has taught me that taking unnecessary risk,will shorten and end a career..The way this guy dove in behind that leg is a recipe for eventual certain disaster..Wait till he tries that,on a rank one.There will be no giggling after the event..

    Poor horse having to endure a toeing knife trim , all that shock on the horses hoof and joints get up to speed with technology man use hoof trimmers , and you can’t bend shoes cold properly, and they wonder why the horse is agitated with him 😮
