Hi, I stumbled upon your video while debating on renting a private boat in the Amalfi Coast and using it to travel around to the various towns instead of the expensive water taxis. I was curious if you witnessed the process of docking or were you not allowed to get close to the coastline? Do you know if it'd be possible to dock/moor at each of the towns or is it possible to drop anchor and swim to the shore with a waterproof bag? Or are the anchor points far away from the shoreline and it'd be better to just get a skipper? Thank you for helping a stranger! I appreciate it!
Hey there - thanks for watching. Yes and no. Most dock their boat and tender in or get dropped off by their skippers. For example, we were picked up and dropped off at the various coastal towns. It’s much different than a lake in North America for instance. However, you should be able to easily swim to the shore line, depending on how busy the town is. I would recommend water shoes. Any other questions, let me know.
It was around $1K Canadian which included the gas, drinks and a customized route. The boat could hold at least 6 people so not a bad option for two couples or a family.
