I've been a Hameroff fan for years, then he kinda just didn't pop up in my feeds (damn algorithms!) but now what a surprise and a joy to hear this discussion and Sue, who I never heard of until now, is a wonderful host.

Very nice, so good to see more intelligent, easy to listen to, people doing interviews with the leading edge of consciousness research.

Fabulous Sue! My mind is blown. I have searching for information on the potential consciousness of mircotubules and their connection to the LLCM and beyond, since I heard Don Van Vleet talk about it years ago!

If animals' minds are filled with microtubules also, are they conscious too, and what about blue whales, are they much more conscious than everyone else? 🤔🧠💥

I would say YES. I would even say plants have microtubules so in some way they too are conscious...

AI and AGI and ASI is the ultimate solution to a peaceful society. Seems like most people go against that because it goes against their religion. What's really scary is the human brain as one can clearly observe world wide with the Ego clinging to religion, Islam, male identification etc. How many animals and humans had to die a gruesome death because of those individuals.

I think it could be too Nicki. And my gosh, you're right, egos get in the way of humanity. I'm hopeful for change and transformation with AI.

@@AnatomicalGangster-ot8em Thank you so much for saying that. Yes I strongly believe that the deus ex machina brains will help us in every area of life. I see a lot of people saying nay to this and using made up reasons why this can't work or that can't work like for example some think that companion robots will cause us to not interact with humans anymore. I see this reversed. I think that it will help us learn how to interact with other people better. Same for robot dogs who can help people learn how to be kind to animals. The robots can be straight forward with us which is something most of us don't dare applying with people but that is exactly what causes the problems in the first place. People hold back, even lie to each other and then nobody feels close to the other anymore. The robots can bring us all back together.
