Thanks shobana. Like a normal driving license Provisional driving license is also valid for 10 years. So you have 10 years to convert to a Full Driving License. But when you pass the theory test, you have 2 years to pass the practical test. Else one has to retake the Theory test again to get the pass certificate. 👍🙂

The irony is you can exchange your overseas driving license to an UK driving license if you are from a commonwealth country except for India and neighbouring countries. We in India drive on the left side (which is right/correct side) of the road and to obtain a license (and drive in India) we must have done all the test/lesson/safety etc. Unfortunately it is a pity that obtaining our Indian driving license in India is not up to the standard.
That is because, in India the rules are completely different. We don't have a concept of roundabout, we don't have right of way, we don't have lane driving discipline , flashing lights mean different things in both countries, honks are used for different purposes - driving is entirely different. Driving infact is so much easier in India, that passing a driving test in UK is difficult for someone who has had driving experience in India than someone who has never driven in India. I found it several times more difficult to drive in Ilford than in Hyderabad.

That should be fine U&Me . As long as you didn’t overstay your tourist visa , they will cancel your tourist visa and give you Tier 4

You can choose to apply for either of them. If you drive and pass Manual - you can drive both Manual and Automatic. If you drive and pass Automatic - you get license for Automatic only.

Anna....I applied for Provisional license last week and to my surprise something happened....I was told that I will get a form to my house which i have to complete and revert back, received it yesterday (green form) which says in order to prove my identity, I need to send my Original Passport and BRP along with a signature from someone who already has Driving license with his DL #,....Checked with my colleague, they said it is okay to do with a special service from Royal Mail...ur suggestions pls anna....also I am leaving in the UK for 3 1/2 years more than 185 days and am I not a resident and why should I do this????

Prabha it varies based on a number of factors. Hard to say . Even for me if I go to a comparison site even now I get quotes with hundreds of £ difference between them for the same conditions and I just choose the cheapest. Use Quidco or comparison sites . It will probably be over 1000£ per year for new insurance.

I recently moved to UK from India thanks for the Video it helped a lot in clearing many questions which I had, please can you let me know if I need a international license to drive or just a normal Indian licence will do? and the other questions is if I apply for an provisional license do my 12 months driving will be still valid?
Hi Jospeh, You don't need international license. You can drive with the normal Indian license. Even after getting the provisional, you can still drive within the 12 months of arrival with your Indian license.
