So nice to see you on here again! I learned from you, and was entertained! I will be taking some of that wisdom w me on my 2024 NOBO for my 60th birthday! Great job! 😁
SO AWESOME TO SEE YOU AGAIN! I’ve missed you!! I followed your journey from the day you started!! We are the same age and you have given me hope that I could do it too. I really appreciate everything you’ve shared in all of your videos!! I’m wishing you a very blessed holiday season with your beautiful family 🙏💕🥰
Thank you for this video. You answered a lot of questions I had, agreed with your comment at the end. Do what works for you. Look forward to future videos. Stay safe, thank you for sharing.
Great video on your equipment. Thanks for sharing. Glad you got home safe. I had to stop hallway thru video to get me (A SODA POP LOL) I hope you have a great Thanksgiving. Stay Safe and Rest up than HIKE ON!!!! Looking forward to next video.
Yea you!! Congratulations.I’m 60 and planning for a 2025 AT thru hike. I’m looking for videos from mature ladies who have completed the trail and they are hard to find. Thanks for the post gear review. You’re awesome.😊Do you have a Lighter Pack List and pack weight?
So nice to see you again. I followed along on your thru hike.Congratulations. This was a great gear review. Thank you. I hope you will be doing more videos.
Started out with waterproof Hoka boots too and loved them. Mine were the Speedgoat mids. They lasted 950 miles. I couldn’t find another pair like my old pair (several years old) so I just used the Speedgoat trail runners. One of my favorite pieces of gear was my pee bottle too. Wouldn’t do an overnight hike without one. Thanks for sharing your gear with us.
Heyy! It's good to see you back, enjoying the comforts of your home this time. 🙂 I bet hubby is glad to have you back home. This was a great video! I am looking forward to the next video. A post trail adjustment video does sound interesting.
Good to get the update! It was a lonnnnggg one! After an hour I was saying you can stop now! You had a great adventure. I enjoyed following you. You are one of the people I followed that made it all the way.
So glad to see you home and comfortable with your family! Thanks for your input on gear. I look forward to seeing your video on the after getting home mental and physical things you deal with.
Hey. The one I’ve been waiting for😂. I had to pause to go to bed and continue this morning, lol. Great video. We have a lot of the same gear and a few things I’m going to look into purchasing. I hope there are more videos coming and happy trails.🤘🏻🥾⛰️
Oh I was so excited to see your video! And it’s amazing when you see a backpack all packed up and then see all the stuff being pulled out and all laid out… it’s like how in the world did all that fit I there! Haha!! My husband and I just did the Georgia section of the AT and I loved it but it was so hard going up those steep mountains! I was like a 2 legged turtle going up! Haha!! I’m 61 and would love to do a thru hike but I don’t think I can donut solo.. I’ve always done things on my own and everyone always says how brave I am but I’m not sure I’m brave enough to do a solo thru hike. Do you mind me asking your age? I look forward to seeing other videos you put out and so happy to see you still smiling!
You can do it by yourself! Trying to find a hiking partner for a thru hike is not easy because most of them will bail on you. You will find your tramily💜
Great seeing you again. Miss the daily trail videos. I only backpack in waterproof boots as well. While everyone else is worried about walking through mud I just plod on through with no worries to keep my pace. So your typical pack weight? I'm personally a heavy packer but I see so many people able to cut their weight. It intrigues me. Also for us, uh, more "experienced" and technologically challenged hikers it would be really interesting to see how you make and edit videos on trial. No one ever shows how folks do that on trial.
This was a very pleasant surprise! I miss you every morning when I’m drinking my coffee. I walk my 4 miles a day on the flat levee and pretend I’m on the A.T. I’m looking forward to any videos you make, especially about that Nalgene situation. I could never make it out of the tent, especially in cold weather.😂 Y’all have a Happy Thanksgiving. 😊❤
Look forward to anymore info you want to share- yes Australia has great golf courses & really good 1-2 week hikes perfect for vacation hiking. I’m heading out for Grampians Peaks Trail (Victoria Australia) soon, still training for my AT hike to celebrate my 60th in 2025
great job. Great to hear from you again. That is quite an accomplishment. I've followed you from the beginning. Just one question. Did you ever finish the trail? Or do you have plans to finish it? Again, great job and keep on hiking!
I had 8K planned. I went over that amount. I haven't gone back and added it all up. I was glad to be home, but it did feel strange for a few weeks. I felt like I needed to be outside moving. I lost 34lbs.
i may have missed it but what air matteress did you use and where did you get your pea bottle. What was the average weight of your pack. Wishing you the best. John
Your ideas for additional topics would be great to gain your insights. I know that after a 3 month Outward Bound semester course I was on in 1989, it was fascinating to me as for how much over stimulation I felt when I traveled back into a city and days later the same with tele-vision and such. Even now, after cutting the cable tv chord a handful of years ago, when I visit someone's home and the tv is on, it's crazy . . . . 🙏⚓☀🏕
Thanks, some great ideas. Really like the soap bits. We use them all the time for our HE washing machine. Happy Trails

40:00, Picardin and don’t forget to take your quilt out of your stuff sack so it won’t damage it.😊

@ my friend wants to go in 2026. I’m putting one more year, if she can’t go I’m going alone. I’m chomping at the bit to go, it’s so hard to put off.😔

The Sky Toa has been discontinued. I had to search hi and low online to find 3 more pair before my hike.
Enjoyed following your hike, thanks for taking us along.
So glad to see ya. Enjoyed your journey thanks for all the videos along the way ..
Thank you for this video! I was curious to know what you took, and what your favorite items were. Really informative! Thanks again!

Thank you so much for coming with me! ❤
When I saw your nice hoodie on trail, I wanted one! I am also a spoon person with a polished bowl (sensory thing with me also).
Great video👍👍👍👍

I'm 60! You can do it. I started out slow. The Georgia mountains were tough for me, too. You get stronger with every step, and it becomes less tough.
Thank you for your encouragement!!
You can do it by yourself!

I use my treking polls a lot also. My faves are Black Diamond and they are AWESOME!
Yes! Many hikers had them on trail.

The pee bottle! Most important oz!!!
Thanks for the after hike update, you could now start planning an overseas hike/holiday & try some Australian hikes with your hubby.
Hubby isn't a hiker, but I'm sure he could find a golf course or two.

Of course. It's hard for me to pratice because it's cold and we have a lot of snow.
Will you be vlogging?
Yes. I have 2 vidéos but I am french so it's in french. I am 73 old. I hope i'll be able to do the appalachian.
great job. Great to hear from you again. That is quite an accomplishment. I've followed you from the beginning. Just one question. Did you ever finish the trail? Or do you have plans to finish it? Again, great job and keep on hiking!
It IS an amazing accomplishment! I finished October 2nd. Yes, I hope to hike those 20ish miles at some point.
was wondering how much you spent? How did you feel getting back home? How much weight did you lose? It was quite a feat.
I had 8K planned. I went over that amount. I haven't gone back and added it all up.
I was glad to be home, but it did feel strange for a few weeks. I felt like I needed to be outside moving. I lost 34lbs.
It's amazing how many survival items one needs to take on the trail. What, no dental floss? 😉
🖐🙂
Can anybody explain those stupid pads in the sports bras??? Just build in the coverage! Whhyyy????
It's so annoying! I don't know anyone who prefers them to be removable.
@@justtryhikes I prefer no padding at all!
Hi, can you tell me what month did you start your appalachian trail 2023??I ' ll begin in march 2024.
I started on February 27th! Are you getting excited?!
i may have missed it but what air matteress did you use and where did you get your pea bottle. What was the average weight of your pack. Wishing you the best. John
Nemo Tensor wide/regular
Where did you find the hoka sky toa. I can’t find them anywhere
Unfortunately, they have discontinued them.
I just git an Outdoor Research T shirt for 20 dollars on sale..😊
That's great! Unfortunately, I was on trail.
Picardin😊
